If he is reelected it will be a Brexit-like self imposed wound on the US that I fear we will never recover from. If we lose Ukraine and weaken NATO, America loses. If he installs cronies willing to break the law for the supreme dictator, America loses. 2024 elections are existential.

It's not that we don't know, it's that we can't know, via Heisenberg uncertainty principle. Iirc, hidden variable interpretations of quantum physics have thus far failed to explain what's happening. It seems to be probabilistic.

Great let's do it through secular public means, where it can be done at scale, without dogmatic strings attached, and it can cover everyone and not be an ad hoc patchwork that causes some people to fall through the cracks

Grants to faith based charities are just a backdoor for siphoning public funds to religious groups. We already subsidize their absurdity and disinformation via tax breaks.

Biden is absolutely a liberal.

I agree with everything you said, additionally:

  • Ernest is dope, figure that's worth repeating, probably the hardest working man in open source social media right now
  • I really like the UI a lot compared to other fediverse alternatives
  • I like that I can see both blog posts and threads from one app
  • Kbin users seem to be more balanced than many lemmy instances which seem to foster groupthink and brigading.
  • Features seem to be rolled out based on community feedback, I made a post a long time ago about abandoned magazines and was pleasantly surprised to see a method of reclaiming ghost magazines included in a recent update.

I’m saying that Hamas’ attacks would not have happened had Palestine not been colonized, its people displaced and massacred at every turn.

Displacement happened because Palestinians declared war on Israel and lost. Read up on the history of the massacres in mandatory Palestine, slaughtering of Jews was what started this conflict in earnest and made a one state solution impossible.

Palestinian Arabs were doing this shit long before any colonization happened, until that point the Jews were legally buying land.
