All other factors being equal; I’ve found that for dairy milk, making tea in a thermal flask is very different than a mug. The water stays too hot and cooks the milk.
Ok, so I know nothing about 3d printing, but since we became empty nester, am looking for a new hobby. My wife us taking up pottery, but thats not for me, and 3d printing seems like a good bit of fun....
I have seen many people in this community either talking about switching to Brave, or people who are actively using Brave. I would like to remind people that Brave browser (and by extension their search engine) is not privacy-centric whatsoever....
FYI to you or anyone who doesn’t know: If you are browsing the internet on an iOS or iPadOS device you are forced to use the Webkit rendering engine. Chrome, Safari, Brave, Firefox. All of them use Webkit to display web pages because you won’t get an app on the App store if you use anything else. The EU is forcing Apple to allow other browsing tech through the app submission process, so we will see alternatives in the future.

However, I will share my worst interview experience.
It was for a company that was working on an app to move stock from one car dealership to another. Dealers would sell cars to each other, essentially.
I show up 15 mins early, as is tradition. I check in and wait until the scheduled time. Then 5 mins past, then 10 mins past. At this point I’ve written off this company and call my partner asking if I should just bail out or not. She says even bad interviews are good practice and I should stay the course even if I think this one is a lost cause.
Her wisdom is sound, so I stick around. About 15 mins after the agreed time I am finally asked to meet with the manager. He guides me through what is to this day, the drabbest, driest office I have ever been in. The only colour in the place is a bunting of world flags around the tops of the walls. I get to meet 2 lovely people who both seemed very capable and competent. We have a great time going through some team-fit and technical questions. Then I get to the code challenge. I am provided with a laptop and it is fucking GROSS. Like imagine a keyboard you haven’t cleaned in 5 years kind of gross. The ask was pretty straight forward, download images and display them in a list, the classic ‘keep-shit-off-the-main-thread’ challenge. I’m working away while the EM is paying me no mind whatsoever. He is working away on his computer while I’m doing this. About halfway through I tell him; “I don’t think I’ll have enough time to complete the project”. I’m trying to display a proactive mindset and I expected we’d then talk about paring the project down to an MVP. All classic interview gotchas. His response though was: “Deal with it.” I knew I wasn’t taking any offer they made me when they left me 15 mins late, but God fucking damn did I not expect that level of disrespect. Anyhow, I hauled ass out of there and called up the recruiter who organised it and told him straight up I would rather be unemployed than take a position there, with details as to why. Hoping to save any unfortunate candidate a similar experience.
I still feel bad for the 2 engineers I spoke to, they seemed really cool and undeserving of working under a stone-cold prick of a manager.
In my understanding: What happens is a Heap Buffer Overflow. The Heap is a style of memory and a Buffer is just a chunk of storage where you place something that is a work in progress. (Think a Youtube video buffering, you are waiting for more data to come down so you can play the video)
The WebP image type has the unintended ability to write to more memory than the OS assigns it. It can ‘overflow’.
If you craft a WebP image file just right, you can write malicious code to a location in memory that the OS may think is executable code and then run it, all without the user knowing.
That is a great question! I’ve certainly asked myself the same thing and the only answer I can come up with in 2 parts.
1: The game is compulsive. While you are playing you want to keep playing. And while the moment to moment interactions are dull (imo) but not so dull as to drive me away. There may be plenty of Oblivion nostalgia keeping me playing.
2: Many of the games problems appear in retrospect. The dumbing down of the subsystems, for example. Much like Outer Worlds; it feels fine while you’re in there but once you stop and step back you realise how crappy they are.

And long drawn out stories that don’t go anywhere.
Like that time I lost my wife? She went off to some town and I just pranced around the countryside for 3 fucking books, which was the style at the time.
Pokémon Go? You hatch eggs by making steps, iirc. (It’s been a while since I played it) You can buy a themed step counter so you don’t have to bring your phone.
