Having just finished Hollow Knight (in fact, I mentioned starting it in one of the previous discussion threads ), I find Hades to be a bit too repetitive. But I don’t want to make the same mistakes I did with Hollow Knight and give up early.
I will give this game a few more days before forming a conclusive opinion.
Speaking of Hollow Knight, I am glad I didn’t give up yet again. The game really opens up after the first few boss fights, and it was really fun exploring the lore, levelling up, and going through some of the bosses.
After using Apple’s products exclusively for close to a decade, I have seen a pattern emerge with their software updates where every new update introduces a set of trivial regressions in the UX....
Ah, the share suggestions never really worked for me.
I know the OS tries to intelligently identify with whom I want to share an item, based on the type of item, recency of conversation, etc. “tries” being the operative term.
The OS does not even honour the app order I manually set under “More” in the share sheet. I remember filing a feedback for this specific behaviour long back.
Seems like you are having a hard time comprehending what is actually said in the post. Perhaps a bit more of context may help. Apologies if these weren’t readily apparent in the post.
Seeking a video using the scrubber has always worked, but swiping on a video to seek hasn’t.
Long press always worked while interacting with system UI (and not app UI), but selecting an entry within the long press menu without lifting the finger hasn’t.
I understand that software evolves and regressions are inevitable. That is why I have pressed a bit on submitting feedback and bug reports as it makes the job of the developers easier.
As for your last paragraph, I fail to see how you reached to that conclusion as these are UX are Apple introduced and regressed upon, so I am going to ignore it.
Poor awareness among users and adoption among developers led to its demise. I never really figured which apps had support for Force Touch until I tried using it.
It’s replacement - the long press - just doesn’t fill the shoes of its predecessor w.r.t. UX. But I guess it achieves the same result.
I started playing it at the start of this week, and have been completely hooked into it.
What I find pleasantly surprising is that I gave the game a few chances over the years, but it just didn’t click. Perhaps as I was playing on a PS, and I find it very odd to play platformers and similar games on it.
The Linux kernel has been updated for some new hardware that still includes the AMD Van Gogh APU, which is currently only used in the Steam Deck. Popular speculation is that Valve will release an updated Steam Deck, one that still uses the same APU (so same performance), but had other changes to the hardware. Possibly different...
DDG just just performs a simple redirect to Google with the query, where the latter has access to cookies, past usage (especially if one is logged in to Google), etc.
Yes. The !bangs in DDG are for convenience and not for privacy. The convenience of not opening the intended website, and typing/pasting the query to perform the search.
I was out of country for the past month. I have access to two monitors, and I brought a keyboard, wireless mouse, and a small JBL speaker. It has been a pretty good experience. Apart from the versatility of the device itself, I feel a lot of this is enabled by remote apps, containers and systems which improved by a lot due to the pandemic. :-)
Also, nice to see you mention CalDigit. I plan on using CalDigit TS4 with the deck to connect it with my desk setup. I have to dig a bit on the support/compatibility.

Most email apps on iOS and macOS route emails through their private servers which is a security risk. This risk magnifies when one has also set up their work accounts on their devices.
Also, many email apps cater to Gmail, which I understand is the most popular email service, but prohibits me from using with my accounts.
Therefore, the native, default mail clients on both platforms is what I use.
Do let me know if there are email clients that do not reroute one’s emails. I would love to try those out.
Yes, we can. I already purchased it around two years ago.
My question was whether it will remain available for purchase after it arrives on Apple Arcade. The answers from others indicate that it will be available as a separate purchase as well.

Between the recent Steam sale and all the good bundles lately, I’m interested to see what everyone’s playing.
