Hi, I’m Abel, an autistic trans brazilian compsci student.

I do not argue with someone making deliberate bad faith arguments. There is nothing we can accomplish that’s positive.

Atheists, is there anything religious that sticks with you to this day?

I am Ganesh, an Indian atheist and I don’t eat beef. It’s not like that I have a religious reason to do that, but after all those years seeing cows as peaceful animals and playing and growing up with them in a village, I doubt if I ever will be able to eat beef. I wasn’t raised very religious, I didn’t go to temple...

Same. I particularly love those. Matthew is a bop:

Matthew 26: 52

“Put your sword back in its place,” Jesus said to him, “for all who draw the sword will die by the sword.”

and similarly

Matthew 7:1-2

1 “Judge not, that you be not judged. 2 For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.

Matthew 5:27-29 - Adultery in the Heart

27 “You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ 28 But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29 If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.

Word by word: It doesn’t matter what women wear, if you can’t restrain yourself then take your eye out.

Matthew 9:12

When Jesus heard that, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. […]"

Ye. There aren’t people who believe you can’t be moral without being religious (christian) for nothing. Christianity has actually a lot of good messages.

It sounds very good not to have any Unemployed people, but the more you think about it the more dystopian it gets.

Abel,
@Abel@lemmy.nerdcore.social avatar

How do you find communities for this thing? I only hit a lot of erotica and japanese-chinese groups.

For non-English folks, what are some books and other media in your native language you'd recommend to others?

I enjoy challenging myself sometimes to try and read or follow other media in other languages besides English, and although I could skim over bestselling or top/best of lists in other languages, if those are anything like their English contemporaries, I imagine odds are they don’t catch some of the lesser known yet still...

Abel,
@Abel@lemmy.nerdcore.social avatar

Also, a lot of poetry/music. Unfortunately the spirit gets a bit lot in translation. I’m of the popular opinion that romance languages are the best for them, but the unpopular one that french sucks to hear and brazilian portuguese-spanish-italian are so much better.

As for books, Senhora. It’s about a rich woman who “buys” a man in a marriage contract and makes him jump loops as her whims. Written in 1875, 50+ years before women could even vote.

2D sprite sheets as well, no?

Abel,
@Abel@lemmy.nerdcore.social avatar

I did that for years. Many years. It burned me out and made me much more of a thin-skinned and intolerant person with those around me in real life.

I love places where they willingly come to redeem themselves (like r/IncelExit) but otherwise I just stray very, very far. It took a heavy toll on my mind.

It is a noble thing but one that shouldn’t be required of most users.

Abel,
@Abel@lemmy.nerdcore.social avatar

Honestly I still discuss online but it’s very rare. Mostly with teenagers since they are usually more open.

There is a problem of even where to confront with reason. Most of the time you hinder more than you help on mainstream social media, because more comments on a post will boost it on the algorithm and distribute the original poster’s message further while they remain wilfully ignorant.

Wireless headphones. The original goal was working out and I didn’t want to carry my cellphone on the hand. I never went to work out, but it turns out to be very convenient when my neighbors are being loud, since it has noise cancelling, and also for chores.

Also, some better clothes. For context, I’m FtM. My sister and mother are vain and buy chic clothes like every month, so I always had a surplus of hand-me-downs. I didn’t want to buy more clothes because I already have perfectly serviceable unisex clothes on my closet, but when I donated out all my feminine-cut clothes and shoes I found myself lacking clothes so, yeah, I went and bought the stupid clothes. I fucking love them and wear them on every opportunity I get. They make me feel so much better :)

My original name has no male counterpart, so I nerded to forge something anew.

I made a large list of names of my language whose letter started with A (same letter as my old name), didn’t have a female counterpart and I liked the pronounciation. Then I risked off the names that only very old people used, which were 75% of the list. The remaining list was about eight names. “Abel” was the most common of them.

I noticed afterwards that my parents (if they weren’t transphobic cucks) would have liked this name. When I asked them how they picked my name, they said that they wanted it to start with A, be simple to write, short, with no variant spellings, beautiful, with a good meaning and not too common. Also, they’re christians.

Do mtf shelters have any need for small clothing? (lemmy.nerdcore.social)

Hi there, I’m a trans man and just separated all winter clothes that are too undeniably feminine for me. They’re the large pile on this picture, which should have ten or so sweaters. However I’m fairly petite, I have 161cm and slim shoulders. I wear S size (with some XS or M sprinkled in). I’m not sure transfem shelters...

Abel,
@Abel@lemmy.nerdcore.social avatar

Thank you for your answer. In the end I’ll give them to an acquantaince who is roughly my size. The spares I’ll probably store until next year or give to the first shelter that needs them because I’ll be on vacation soon.

Abel,

Hey, go out and speak to people with uterus, because they aren’t using it as birth control.

Really. No “hard facts” out of that. Your worldview is so distant from mine we can’t hold a dialogue.

Just go out and speak to them.

Abel,
@Abel@lemmy.nerdcore.social avatar

You’re right, technically speaking.

I live in Brazil. When I lived on the farm, father set it up so the water would come from a natural underground mine and it was entirely safe to drink. However, in the town, we always bought gallons of packet water instead of using it from the tap. In the city I drank tap water for some years and didn’t die, but the taste of the water changed when we began using a filter (thought it was likely that it was because the thing connecting our tap to the system was made out of rubber and a colony of bacteriae began to grow there).

Still, Brazil as a whole is mid risk for intestinal parasites and everyone is recommended to get a filter or packed water by the UN, and also to take anti-vermin medicine once per year.

I’m using Pop! OS and basically I only need to use the terminal when tinkering with Wine (because I’m stubborn and don’t use Lutris), launching StableDiffusion or doing some wacky shit like trying to install a compatibility layer for android apps.

I think this is for some sort of fanfic or roleplay, so:

Military food. If you want something old fashioned but not so bland like the european bread take a look at what paraguayan soldiers used during the three aliances war.

If they don't go out of their way to put a burden on trans' people lives (and I don't think they do otherwise you would have detected that pretty earlier in the decade of friendship), also remember OP that it's always easier to be LGBT-fobic when no one you know is LGBT. They'll have to measure their transphobia and their love for you in a balance. And sometimes, love wins.

I don’t know but I have been thinking I’m hetero :D
