I've loved the Monster in My Pocket toys since I was a kid in the 80s, and in today's weird (but cool) news, Will and Jada Pinkett Smith are going to be making it into a live action TV series?!? 🤯
I am still a little different from other people.
I speak and act a little differently.
So I tried very, very hard to eliminate the differences, but I couldn't do it.
The more I tried, the more it hurt.
So I thought I'd always be different until the day I die.
But many nice people filled in the gap for me.
And that is how I am standing before you today.
Thank you for filling in the gap.
Thank you for not avoiding me.
And thank you very, very much for your love.

Honestly, I am just tired of superhero movies. What, it has been 10 years of them? People want something different.
That's why I have retreated to #KDrama#CDrama spaces. I also watch Western dramas, but usually one thay doesn't run for seasons. I am also SUPER TIRED of tv shows getting cancelled before there is a proper ending!!
If there is one thing that mystifies me with recent #movies and #TV productions is that for some unknown reason, the door openers always knew when to open the doors.
For example, I'm watching right now Underworld: Blood Wars, produced in 2016, and the doors were opened at the perfect moment by door guys inside.
You will see this in #Kdramas too, be it in period #dramas or present day.
Why did we invent automatic doors if human beings trained to open doors can do it anyway? More job, less electricity.
I've paused #ElConde as I've decided it's too heady for my tired body, but damn am I engrossed in this #Pinochet as a vampire conceit. I even had some wine. Turns out, it's a family dramedy about the rich. I'm at the point where the Nun/accountant looks at the books. Might put on the new #MikeFlanagan before my slumber. #TV#movies#Netflix#villains#HistoricalFiction#history#eattherich before they eat you. :ablobcatneon: #spooktober
#tv “Aljazeera World” is a very impressive documentaries series, with lots of original content exploring #MENA. Edward Said’s documentary “Out of Place” (2006) aired couple of days ago. It comes across somewhat hagiographical… with many of his colleagues singing his praise, including Noam Chomsky, Rashid Khalidi, Ilan Pappe and more.
What caught my eye was the archive material, especially audio/visual from his family home in upscale Talbiya (الطالبية, one of the most expensive neighborhoods in #Jerusalem still today) makes the phrase “A land without a people for a people without a land” (which was allegedly coined by a Christian #Zionist) sound VERY cruel.
I'm old enough to remember when cable providers had to keep Nickelodeon on channel 36 or lower because otherwise some TVs and VCRs couldn't tune that high. #TV#FuckImOld
Pseudocide, or faking your own death, is a common trope in literature and film. Crime writer Manning Wolfe writes about why it continues to be resonant, from "Romeo and Juliet" and "Death on the Nile" to "Sleeping with the Enemy" and "Gone Girl."
Yesterday (September 10) was the 30th anniversary of The X-Files first airing -- in 1993. I was definitely watching (I was 13 and living in Maryland) with my family - we I watched every episode, every week (I believe until Mulder disappeared and they replaced him with Doggett)?
I would later meet my now wife, and I found out that she would watch it with her family too (she's just 9 years younger than I am)-- all the way across the country, in Tucson, Arizona!
We're both huge fans still- we recently rewatched the whole series again, start to finish (including all the Doggett episodes, which I now dig). And I could do it again!
The X-Files was wild in the 90s-- an amazing mix of the Twilight Zone, Twin Peaks, straight up horror, and more. And its amazing crossover with the Simpsons was a treat, too.
Goddammit season 2 of Foundations is great. I'm annoyed at the end of every episode because it's the end of the episode. Only one more to go, and the suspense is killing me. Please don't let it be another two years until the continuation!
