I made a userscript that uses the redgifs API to get direct links to their videos and embeds them above the links voyager normally displays. It’s kinda hacky and I have had basically no experience with JavaScript before, but it works and it looks good!...
It looks like this was a larger decision from the lemmy development community in an attempt to eliminate karma farming. They say it’s psychologically damaging, and as someone who looks at them a lot, they may be right....
I am on a low end Android device (but one with a high refresh rate screen) and with the recent updates, it feels as the app is far more performant. Animations are smoother and stutters are few and far between. Just wanted to appreciate the work done by the dev and also the developers of the ionic framework. Between them they...
I requested for “sidebar” to be placed in the pop-up menu after long pressing an instance name. I don’t know when it was implemented and I don’t know if it was in reaponse to my request, but I noticed it today and wanted to say “thank you”!
I used Joey for years on Reddit and it has an incredibly useful navigation feature that would allow you to use arrows to jump through every top level comment....
Self-explanatory, I think. I miss being able to flag users in Res – I usually used it to mark known trolls or experts in a subject so I could easily see them in threads. I sometimes used it to mark people who were especially witty or the like....
If I click into a post, then the link, then try to back out, it goes back to the post and then goes back to my last position in the feed, as expected. But after clicking a link directly from the home/all feed, when I try to back out it no longer keeps its place, instead jumping back to the top of the feed. Using the voyager app...
I recognized, that many PWA do not work properly if iOS (iPadOS) Safari set to 75% scaling. It always zooms wierdly in, especially if a input field is tabbed. After a short research, I found this:...
I have “mark read when scrolled past” turned on. And now I have (1) posts within the past day or two, and (2) posts older than a month (since I joined about a month ago)....
So I was just browsing Lemmy using the web version of my instance and noticed that when I clicked on a user it took me to a page that looks like they have customized it with profile banners, info, links, etc. I have been using Voyager or Memmy for 99.999% of my Lemmy usage up until this point, and literally didn’t even know...
One of my favorite Apollo features was I could be in the middle of a deep comment section. Swipe back to the homepage, then swipe over into where I left off in the comments. I believe this was handled by edge swipes vs swipes from not quite the edge for up/down votes. No idea how it remembered location....
It’s very nice to see that X people liked a post/comment and Y people disliked it instead of just having a singular “goodness/badness” rating. It (literally, in a mathematical sense) adds a whole new dimension to post ratings and gives us a more nuanced understanding of people’s opinions. Plus, it feels a lot better to...
I know its not possible on Lemmy itself yet but it would be great to be able to subscribe to threads. Sometimes theres a thread im interested in keeping up with any new comments (like how we did on forums). So it would be great to be able to subscribe to a thread and get notifications on any new comments.
I find myself blocking a lot of communities, but to do that, I have to first tap on the three dots on the post, then got to community, and then tap the three dots again and tap block community. Please add an option to block a community from the post feed
