Do you need to leave the Steam Deck open to download something on i.e. Firefox in desktop mode or will it just download perfectly in standby mode? I know that it’s basically a PC and it should work but since I’m planning to get one I want to be sure.

Hi all, I have an interesting issue that I’m hoping can be solved. I have a pair of Anker Soundcore A40 earbuds and they connect fine to the Deck. However the Deck doesn’t pick up on the microphone input at all - I’ve had a look under input devices and it fails to show up. Is there anything I can do (packages, drivers etc)...

When I turn on my headphones, my oled deck turns on. Neat, but unwanted when I’m using my headphones for other things, like my zoom meeting for work causing Dave the Diver sounds to come out of my headphones. How can I turn that off without disabling Bluetooth every time I put the deck to sleep?

Hey, I use a lot my steam deck as a PC, but everytime there is a “new” sound (I start a video, a game, i change some setting etc) there is a sound coming from the speaker. (Like when you plug a cable jack with the speaker on). Is there a way to fix this ?

I was exploring the fps and refresh rate slider and I realized that when setting the framerate limiter to 25, the refresh rate was incorrectly set to 50Hz on the OLED version, when the 75 Hz setting would be a more appropriate setting, for the same reason 30 fps is at 90 Hz and not 60 Hz. I’m using Emudeck’s installation. I’ve tried wux files, extracted file-folders, and going directly to the xml files and nothing picks up. I spent way too much time troubleshooting BG3 on my Steam Deck because it would not start, and when it finally did it had no sound....

Just for info for someone who are using distrobox and tempting to update to 3.5.5. it looks like this update cause a conflict between flatpak and distrobox (reddit.com/…/flatpak_update_issue_in_35_preview_r…) and the best solution is purge the rootless podman, uninstall it and install it back. But, the thing is it does not...

Having issues when opening some flatpaks (I think only X11) in Desktop Mode, controller input stops working, I can only use touch screen. Controller starts to work after I triggers Controller Settings in Steam(still in Desktop Mode)....

Edit: This isn’t about this specific game in particular! The point is that install folders are just disappearing when they shouldn’t....

We are currently in a heat patch of 90°f weather; primarily we get 80°f+ weather in August. Delivering a Steam Deck would take about 2 weeks according to the website and I want to know what I should do in the case of the package being outside in the mail truck and porch for so long on really hot days?
