I second that, install cockpit if you don’t want to bother with the CLI and run a couple of VMs. You can even start 3 VMs and install Kubernetes on them and play with it.
So I’ve been wanting to try to move to linux for the past few months but have been waiting to be done school, so I could the MS office suite behind me. I’m mostly writing this to share my experience for people who are considering switching....
I’ve just installed Epic Game Launcher on the Deck and had an issue where the starting screen was black. I’ve already find the fix in * this discussion....
So I seriously miss the target audience of PS Portal? Are they only targeting people who want to use this device in their own houses either in the bed or on the sofa? And that’s a pretty steep price for such a useless device.
Huge win for Epic Games in their court case against Google. The court decided that Google’s Play app store operated as an illegal monopoly and the case also challenged the transaction fees of up to 30% that Google imposes on Android app developers....
But isn’t Apple also even worse in that regard? At least Google is embracing open standards, unlike Apple who is deliberately refusing to do so? I am not saying Google is good but that Apple isn’t great either.
That’s why I always buy after release and usually wait for some discounts. But I plan to buy BG3 even if it’s not discounted at the winter sale but I think it is pretty obvious that this game is pretty good already.
Yes, they are U Huge, usually occupies a lot more space, weigh more, are worse for the environment, the roads, pretty much everything and are a sigh how wasteful and oblivious of its impact the humanity became
I have replaced the original 512GB SSD with a 2Tb one and reimaged the drive. Do I need to keep the original drive for warranty purposes in case I need to return the device, or I can re-purpose it or sell it out?
Sadly it is pretty much everywhere in the world where living costs are skyrocketing, along with rents. Almost 50% of my salary now goes to rent and utility bills, and recently the food also got pretty expensive, it feels almost like 50-60% up, so I am spending a very big chunk of my salary to have a roof over my head and also to survive.
Same here, super frustrating and it seems we are not the only ones. There are a bunch of people who haven’t received their decks. F GLS, delivering goods with donkeys. It took them
Yes, it should be today at some point, I got an email notifying me that it is out for delivery at last. I can’t wait to get it and install the 2Tb SSD inside.
I was wondering how many of you out there who ordered the OLED model on release already got their Deck? Mine is stuck at “packaged items” for a couple of days and I am starting to get anxious when I get it.
I just got notification that they have created a shipping label but the device is still not yet handed over to the forwarder. Mine is the 512Gb model and I am based in Europe.
Yes, don’t know how much you can feel those 30 grams to be honest. I think it is mostly a mental feeling like a placebo effect. But on the other hand it is kind of amazing they did manage to lower the weight by also increasing the size of the battery.
Hahaha, I have just checked and I also ordered it 22 minutes after they started accepting orders and mine says that it is shipped but when I check with the carrier, it says that only the information for the shipping has been sent online but they don’t have it with them, hence probably won’t get it this weekend which sucks.
Lucky you, I am also in Europe and since 2 days my deck is listed as shipped even though when I check the carrier it says that only the request has been filled out but they didn’t receive it.
Yes, the status just got updated and the expected delivery is 28.11.2023, bummer, 4 days more to wait. Mind you I ordered it 22 minutes after and kind of expected to get it before.
Yes, I have ordered mine 22 minutes after the window opened and am still waiting. The device is sent already but it is with GLS and apparently they will need 6 days to transport it 800km, absolutely ridiculous, not to mention that their tracking sucks big time.
Yes, it still says it will be delivered tomorrow between 12 and 16, but what worries me more is that there have been no tracking updates since 24.11. The last update is from 24.11 at 15:33 that the parcel left the parcel centre. And since then nothing.
I bought a 2Tb SSD and hopefully will have it too so that I can upgrade the 512Gb -> 2Tb. Bought WD SN740 for 160€ which is I guess a good price.
It lowers the temperature of the SOC allowing the CPU and GPU to run for longer periods without throttling. Meaning that you will have more consistent frames and low 1%.
I need a new car and by new I mean not brand new, but one with a bigger trunk. I like EVs in general and in a perfect world I would definitely have bought one, but I am living in a city, I don’t need the car for driving every day, I need it only for the weekend gateways, to transport my family from A to B and I sure as hell don’t want to buy a new car, the cost just doesn’t justify its purpose.
Plus here electricity is really expensive and relying on public chargers sucks big time.
This looks like a huge re-design from Valve, they seem to have done an excellent job. A lot of thought has gone into this device and I expect the subsequent test will prove that.
Another great video of Gamer’s Nexus, this Steve guy is amazing.
For mental health reasons, I had taken myself out of most political topics. But lately there seems to be a surge of talk about Palestine and Hamas (forgive me if I spelled this wrong). And it’s not like Israel didn’t drop bombs on the south you know? Nor that forced displacement of people doesn’t amount to a war crime. And one should expect a country having such a sizeable military superiority to be a little bit more concerned about civilian casualties and human suffering, but apparently they care very little.
And if you want to see it from a different perspective. Israel used the killing of 1200 Israeli citizens a pretext to kill 11K and counting civilians, cut their electricity, food, fuel and water, considerably restricting the humanitarian aid entering the enclave and almost completely destroying a city that was once hosting 1.1M people.
After continuously refusing to admit that with their own actions they have created a humanitarian catastrophe and refused all international calls for humanitarian pauses or ceasefire.
No one is refusing their right to defend themselves, but the way they are doing it is very much recalling a blind revenge and with those actions they portrayed themselves in not a very good light, even though western politicians are very adamant on publicly condemning them.
Mind you that during that time there were an increase of violent settlers attacks in the West bank, a lot of Palestinians got evicted, killed, injured with the silent approval of the authorities and the IDF, which is additionally stirring the conflict.
I am also not a fan of this website, but NVIDIA proprietary drivers are notoriously bad especially with Wayland, so I was thinking that people might find it useful and upgrade their drivers.
Hey man, can you share some resources that you followed to configure Opnsense as VM. I am in the same situation, bought a firewall, that I want to use as a hypervisor but didn’t configure yet the Opnsense and would love to educate myself more on the matter.
And if you forget to check in online you need to pay another 50-60€.
Oh but you don’t have a reserved seat, so you can check in only up to 24 hours before the flight.
If you want to sit with your family, that’s another 100€.
They are getting so ridiculous that Wizzair staff started measuring people’s luggage and charge them extra fees at the airport. Oh your bag is 2cm above the limit, 60€.
It is really disgusting practice and every time I need to fly I grit my teeth if they will find something to charge me extra.
As a normal, boring user that does nothing special other than browse the internet and the occasional "casual coding" -- what am I supposed to do with 32GiB of ram?
Title. Besides setting tmpfs to use 10GiB of it to store downloads.
