Modding in games
Which modmanager should I use? I’ve seen that Vortex can be used but the majority of people I’ve seen don’t like it. I’d like to mod Skyrim and Darkest Dungeon

I like setting up my SteamDeck docked on my big TV. Newer games look rough at 720p, but playing older/indies at 1920x1080 + 4 controllers is a great experience....
My question is mostly for games available on Steam that you would still prefer to play on Switch. I imagine performance should be better on the deck for native/proton games, but there might be something else I am missing.
I have never used an HDR display before so I’m not sure how it’s supposed to look....
SteamOS 3.6 is live on the “main” update channel, and it is very buggy. (Note: the most bleeding edge update channel is called main. 3.6 is only live on the “main” channel, not any of the stable or beta channels)....

Two issues have plagued the official dock for me:...
Need some wisdom from y’all about deciding to upgrade or not. Not sure if it is worth or not. Waiting 2-3 years for a SD2 is pretty far away, right? This is my only gaming rig.
At launch, Steam Deck players made up 10% of the playerbase for The Pale Beyond. 9 months later after sales/etc that number has dropped to 5%....
Let me be more specific, it’s stuck after an update after a factory reset, I was having some problems with the deck getting stuck in screen off mode unless I pressed the volume buttons, in which case it would turn the screen on for a second then turn off again. So I decided fuck it, factory reset. It came back in but had an...
As mainly a console gamer over the years, I’ve become quite used to playing with a controller that has vibration. I feel that this is one thing the Deck is missing out on....
Wanted to post my experience so far for others that are in the same niche as me, as I didn’t find much on it looking around....
Hi folks,...
Hello,...
I’m getting a 64gb steam deck probably next month. It will be used as a portable console and a desktop PC for work (desktop reliant websites). The most heavy game I’ll play is Stray (no 1st person shooters, MMOs or huge open worlds) with an hour or two of play time a day....
PC/Linux/Steam Noob here. I just got a game from GOG and I’m seeing tutorials mention Heroic, Lutris, and Wine via ProtonUp-QT as methods to get non-Steam games installed and running on Deck. Which method would you consider the easiest and most reliable for content from GOG, Ubisoft, Epic, etc…
Between the recent Steam sale and all the good bundles lately, I’m interested to see what everyone’s playing.
So, my personal experience of the installation is been a bit complicated by the tutorials i’ve find on YT. Basically I was stuck in the part where after the installation you need to change the directory (or add a new shortcut) for the launcher. Many video didn’t explain that or use a previous version of the OS with slightly...
So this is a very niche tool, but I thought I’d post about it in case it has uses elsewhere....
Title. I’m looking to add some new games to the library to play I honor of my favorite holiday. What are some of your favorites? Bonus points for hidden gems!
Excluding adding an external keyboard and mouse, what quality of life changes can be made to the deck to make keyboard and mouse work less terrible?
In case anyone’s having connectivity issues like I was, I thought I’d share what fixed it for me....
