Is a fart the gas itself, or the passing of the gas? The definition says it is the passing of the gas. Therefore, a fart isn’t a fart until it’s been farted. Before that, it’s just gas in the ass.
Possible TMI warning, I’m into stuffing my butt with dildos and will occasionally do a deep clean with a large enema, around 6-8 liters. When I do that much it pushes the gas in my bowels back through to my stomach and it makes me burp. Gross but neat
When used as a noun a fart refers to “an expulsion of intestinal gas^1^” or “An emission of wind from the anus; an instance of breaking wind^2^”. So, I would say no it is not because it is defined as leaving the body. While in the body it is flatus which is gas in or from the stomach or intestines.
