Godot: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly (blog.odorchaidhe.games)
this seems a well-argued article to me the ‘General directionless development’ seems the most concerning point, I don’t think the ‘let’s go with what the community ask\want’ model is gonna work in the end....
Switching from Unity to Godot: Tips and What You Should Expect (popcar.bearblog.dev)
I made a blog post about my experience switching from Unity to Godot earlier this year, and some tips for Unity devs.

Huge boost for Godot development!...
I really feel like the reddit Godot community just sucks ass.
There’s so much negativity and fighting and shit talking in the comments over there. It’s like some people have a personal goal of making others look stupid in comparison to themselves and they just try as hard as possible to rub it in if they know something you don’t....
Question about gdscript: Which is more efficient?
I’m just curious about which is the most efficient way of doing this kind of node enumiration:...

Create non-game apps with Godot Engine (simondalvai.org)
The main target of the Godot Engine are game developers. But Godot’s easy workflow and functional UI elements, makes it also a good fit for non-game applications. There are already some out there you may know, like Pixelorama, an Open Source 2D sprite editor.

First-person maze with enemies: I need a start.
Hello all,...
Having trouble with 3D rotations
I’m trying to make a 3d flight controller with a more arcade feel (think Ace Combat or Rogue Squadron). I’m somewhat new to working in 3d in Godot though and I don’t really understand what methods I should be using to achieve this....

Why is there a load() at all?

Trying to Learn Godot - Complete Beginner
I picked up the Zenva bundle from Humble and I’ve done the first two classes and I feel like I learned a little, but the classes have failed to actually teach me much of anything about GDScript. I don’t understand why I typed what I typed or how to use the code I did “learn” so far....
[Solved] Why is _ready() being triggered before the splash end?
I am trying out Godot and I’ve noticed that when I export the game to linux, the result has a much longer boot time...
How would I get a relative point between a min and max value that could be represented as a float between 0.0 and 1.0?
I have a min and max position of an object and I want to represent an arbitrary point between them as a float between 0.0 and 1.0. This feels relatively basic math, but I can’t quite figure out what I need to do with this. Is there a special name for this sort of thing? Also, are there any built-in methods that would be useful...
Panels keep increasing in size every time I run a scene (lemmy.blahaj.zone)
I had this issue back in Godot 3.5 and hoped that it’d be gone, but Panels and some other Control Nodes still resize magically when executing another scene. This is such weird behaviour, that I have no idea where it might come from. Has anyone ever seen such a thing happen before? Here is a video of the bug in acton:...
[Question] [Solved] Persistent variables in tool script
My script sets this value in editor. How can I keep the the changes when saving the scene?...
