For hours today, yesterday, and intermittently since I’ve been on here (a month or so) lemmy stops loading using jerboa, liftoff, and a web browser....

I've spent more than 7 years in Mastodon, and in my experience, new users always come in with a Twitter mindset, then getting a cultural shock because they come to Mastodon expecting a Twitter experience and end up finding something strange and bizarre....

Please post one top-level comment per complaint. Then others can reply with ideas or existing GitHub issues that could address that complaint. This helps identify both common complaints and potential solutions....

I don’t think the Fediverse will become mainstream. But I’m actually happy about that. And so should you.

Many NSFW have nothing to do with porn. Sometimes are horror contents, some times are crude images, some times are just lazy people who don’t know of the Spoiler tag. Can we have a quick and easy way to filter off all the (very funny but not alway wanted) Porn posts without locking out those other contents???

A ton of countries have a decently active Lemmy instance, including the English-speaking ones (UK, AUS, NZ, ZA)....

It seems anytime I try to check out Mastodon it is always some negative political view or affiliation of why X, Y & Z is bad. Is this just what most people like boosting or is it a sign of botting to push negativity over the more positive headlines?...

Why can’t we have federated identity to login into fediverse instead of creating login for each instance?

I used to browse Reddit 90+% of the time from my phone through the RiF app, so after June 30th, here is what I did and what I recommend as a starter pack for others in the same situation:...

For the most part it’s borderline child porn or stable diffusion spam. There should be an option to opt out of content from specific instances on account level.

Idea: if you mod a community on a lemmy.somewhere you should be able to migrate it to lemmy.elsewhere which would include all post & comment links being forwarded and subbed users having their subscription updated to reflect the new location....

Man, I was all on board with this idea. Federated instances made so much sense to me. But it’s tankies all the way down, and it’s just not worth my time anymore.
