Seeing the other post here about YouTuber that went downhill and seeing content creators I am familiar with makes me sad. But how about those that still makes great, high quality content?
You can always just find a game club with more skilled players, teach your friends how to stomp face or just watch them play if it’s that serious.
If your friends know you are skilled and bitch about you playing at your level instead of catering to them, they’re not good people to hang around anyway.
It’s not education anymore if people are doing that.
They are turning education into the pointless rigamarole they accuse it of being because they don’t get that education is more important than feeding oneself. Survival is easy. Animals do that. Education is about humanizing you and connecting you with the universe you live in. It’s about something higher and better than that. It’s about actually living.
But tell that to the troglodytes using ChatGPT to think for them, who truly only care about themselves.
Or you could grow the fuck up and actually be an adult instead of justifying using corporate controlled software to do your thinking and living for you.
Learn to read and write. Learn to think for yourself. Accept that effort, humility and willingness to learn and achieve are to be expected from you and learn to try to meet those expectations instead of getting angry that anything, literally anything, is asked of you to engage with other people.
No, they do, or I should say did. Art and music are vital for motor skills and bran development. I was not allowed to take music classes and live with the sadness of not being able to play music despite wanting to, and knowing because of my age it’s largely too late.
The child’s brain is too malleable for you to justify not letting them be exposed to a variety of different skill sets even if they don’t like them as a kid. Adults are supposed to know letting kids specialize (more accurately do the bare minimum to go back to playing video games) is a bad idea.
I don’t care if you think learning is mundane. Even if it was, you have to do it anyway. Life isn’t always sunshine and roses.
Plastic seals food, sterile medical implements, medicine, beverages, etc… it’s seems like plastic is used as a way to seal things safely. Post pandemic rising, I see even more. My work used to be have plastic utensils in the cafeteria, for example, an already wasteful thing. Now, post-2020, every fork, knife, and spoon is...
It literally doesn’t matter; you can’t make proper use of the calculator without knowing how to do the problems without it anyway, so this is just stupid bullshit lazy people throw at you to justify not putting effort into anything
Another player who was at the table during the incident sent me this meme after the problem player in question (they had a history) left the group chat....
We don’t need to shut down our ability to think critically to assuage the feelings of other people. That’s not something any of us have the right to ask regardless of our condition.
🤔 I made a thread a while back asking people here what they would do if they were founding a country, and one guy had the best solution I ever heard anyone come up with:
It was this tiered, hierarchial council lottery system where people were randomly elected to serve on councils that managed every aspect of day to day life. Eligibility for each council depended on your education, age, background, etc. and it was set up such that you had to take leave from your old job, but your spot would be held, you’d be paid the same rate you were before, etc. to disincentivize people from not participating.
He went into a lot of detail about it, and had a long writeup for it because it was a project for his pol sci degree, and it was based on the assumption that no human involved was scrupulous or trustworthy, and if some aspect of the system could be abused, it would be.
To this day I have not seen anyone come up with a better governance idea, past or present.
The US supreme court will hear oral arguments on Tuesday in a case which gun and domestic violence prevention groups are warning could be a matter of life and death for thousands of abuse victims and their families....
Because they don’t care about the truth, they believe in gun bans based solely on their emotions. They’re only going to bring suffering upon themselves and those they love by refusing to examine their beliefs and check their emotions.
Don’t sweat them too much. There’s ultimately nothing they could do to take anyone’s weapons away; any meaningful gun ban would trigger the right wing into violence and cause a civil war, and they know that.
That’s not true, weak people need guns to have equal access to violence so they are not subjugated by the strong. Access to violence is just as much a basic need than food or water.
Your statement is itself extremely sexist. Women are the weak ones who need guns. Men are the strong ones who have power on their side. Nothing can change those facts. A world without unfettered gun access is a world that enforces those inherent power imbalances and enforces the subjugation of women.
So in that killer’s mind, wanting someone killed was the morally indefensible crime but actually killing ludicrous numbers of people is not? And he nor anyone else questioned that? 🤔
I get that what he’s trying to do, it’s just his actions are self-defeating. The only reason the behavior on social media has violent consequences is because he’s imposing them; no one else in that story is killing people based on meaningless Facebook polls. They only matter because he makes them matter. He causes the problems he thinks he is solving.
Also he assumes his actions will make people reconsider their choices and change, which they won’t because people for the most part aren’t capable of change. Most people don’t have the ability to do so. Those who do deliberately refuse to because they’re happy the way they are regardless of their true nature’s consequences to other people.
It’s just a stupid gimmicky show pretending to be deep to get views. That’s all.
To not focus on the semantics but the main point. It’s obvious whoever is doing it is being childish and immature so the counter tactic is to be the adult in the room and to talk to them as if they were a child you were disciplining.
‘It’s not you, it’s me’ is the gist of college student qualms with dating apps. Hook-up culture declines while young people search for genuine connection.
So, how should people find mates? Obviously these stupid apps don’t work and the chance encounter system we use in western societies don’t, and neither do the marriage-as-transaction systems societies used centuries ago, or the subjugation of any one gender. So how should we ensure most people who want a mate get one?
The apps can literally just use AIs to pretend to be real people convincingly to get people to pay for a premium membership to presumably be able to arrange a meetup. After they pay for premium, they’re ghosted, and it’s too late to get their money back.
I’m not the one who needs help finding a partner. Everyone else does, and despite your emotional language you all have failed so hard at it it has harmed you as a people, so who is the one who needs to re-examine their language use exactly? Not me. I see animals cry and want to help them, and when I speak of animals, I use technical terms. And you all very much are animals.
Your society as a whole needs to have this talk with itself and that’s why I ask. Would a matchmaker program help you? Or will you get offended at being called an animal as if I am not one too and openly say as much, a lot?
I am not asking to be a dick. I am an aromantic asexual and I see the lot of you that are not as hurting because you all can’t find partners, so stop getting offended at me and let me help you.
People would still use the apps anyway or use them specifically to talk to AIs. An AI-driven app that is honest about what it is would probably do a lot more to help than anything else, come to think of it. 🤔
Good God, you people completely miss the point of the meme. It’s just a joke and you all are treating it like a serious debate on the value of correcting other people’s grammar like that debate isn’t simply a smokescreen for bullies selfishly taking out their emotions on others as it always has been.
And instead of banding together and doing something about those evil motherfuckers, you all meekly submit to other rotting flesh bags who have no more right to rule over you than a sack of potatoes does.
Counterpoint: Mentally ill people have the same rights as everyone else and therefore can’t be locked up without a criminal conviction, no matter how annoying their symptoms may be.
A typical and predictable response from someone selfish and immature enough to knowingly do nothing about serious and exploitable bugs on a platform they choose to be wholly dependent on for online discourse. And they expect people to blindly go along with it simply because they did.
If we were on a spaceship, and I was telling you about serious air leaks in the hull, would you look at me and tell me to my face “Feel free to leave” as you suffocate? Or would you go patch the holes?
Nope. I’ll feel free to continue complaining about it as that’s the only way it’s ever going to be acknowledged or addressed.
Feel free to put up with it.
Or feel free to pretend you’re accomplishing something through unwarranted loyalty to a platform run by jackasses who couldn’t give less of a shit about you as you do about them. Whatever you think will accomplish more.
Oh lol at you comparing some spoiled kid who killed his own mother to neurodivergent people as if that isn’t blatantly ableist and insulting as fuck.
Also you need to learn empathy and to start seeing things from the other side. The safety of everyone else is more important than this kid’s feelings because he killed an innocent person unjustifiably. That fact does not change because he is a kid. He is now a threat to the community, and you’ve no right to demand the community subvert its own right to existence just to appease your wack-ass sensibilities.
His punishment has to put him in jail where he’ll be removed from society and still retain some rights. It’s the only fair and just way.
This is a kid, it’s an accident, a tragic one.
This is you sympathizing with the wrong person and not caring about anyone other than yourself and you making yourself look good at the expense of literally everyone around you.
Edit: nvm I’ve looked at your profile after seeing some of your unhinged comments here ; I now fully believe you are eleven yourself and under the delusion that you are, in fact, an adult.
And yet here you are arguing with me as an adult and wanting me gone as one, regardless of my actual age, so what are you doing except proving my point exactly?
