Hey Lemmy community!...
I want to create a Pixelfed account but I’m not sure which instance to choose. I’m in the US, so I was just going to pick the default and largest option, but I know spreading out the instances is one advantage to the federated network, so it then makes sense to choose a smaller one....
The fanbase is still large, but the Lemmy community hasn’t quite caught up yet, and now there is a transitional period where the audience is smaller.
(Scope for agency loss means that its comes at low cost to switch to an alternative and intensity of potential harm means the amount of harm that is inflicted on the individuum if the algorithm is bad (e.g. for lethal automatic weapons it would be very high))...
I’m currently trying Voyager. Initial impression is that it seems like a great app.
