I only knew about this via that website which got the news from twitter. I hope this gains huge enough traction for Ubisoft to change the policy from the backlash.
Although tbh, I am not expecting much, considering Ubisoft is trying to be the next EA these days.
More so bad implementation of a feature. Would be surprised if they actually cared about the sliders being slightly incorrect when most people slide the humble and game studio to the minimum and charity to the maximum…
It took me a bit of staring to realize what OP was complaining about - I think it’s that 0 is at the right for the slider, not the left. So they’re not slightly incorrect, they’re reversed, with the implication being that someone absentmindedly trying to donate nothing will donate everything
Narh I just checked, $0 is on the left. This issue is the dev and charity slides start at $0 but the humble slider has a minimum (for me it’s $2.67 but I assume it’s different for each currency) so when the slider is moved by adjusting one of the other sliders it’s just calculated as if the slider is 0-100% instead of something like 5-100%… Pretty easy mistake to make
Crazy to charge extra for what would be considered the default TV resolution in 2023, imo. Not even going to touch on how fake of a comparison that is.
I don’t understand why there is so much defense for this in the comments. Amazon is a huge company with professional design teams, if part of their checkout process is even a little misleading in favor of an upsell it is definitely intentional.
Yes. That’s Amazon using dark patterns. This demonstrates that enshittification is not confined to social media.
Ooop, it may have happened even before Twitter, Reddit etc.
From Corey Doctorow: Ultimately, it doesn’t matter if Amazon’s enshittification is because [Jeff] Bezos was a cynic or because he sold out. Once Amazon could make more money by screwing its customers, that screw-job became a fait accompli.
Strongly advice you to just turn off Play Protect. It sends your list of installed apps to Google (not that the Android as a whole will stop doing that even after you turn it off). They don’t do shit.
It’s really a shame that that is even normalized. Why is it their business to know what apps are installed on a personal device? Just one more way to fingerprint users and advertise to them.
I remember arguing with a google fanboi about Google’s diktat for Android apps to not have a shutdown button. He was waxing lyrical about how Google PBUH is all knowing and works in mysterious ways. I said google does this so that you can’t turn off its spyware shit.
Hahaha I’m not saying it’s not a funny coincidence, because it is - I just don’t think it was intentional :D Probably just a international red cross symbol, usually associated with medical/health, but in this context…
It’s really comfortable! I bought it in Lidl for around $15 to replace my stock saddle which was hard as life itself. Big difference - couldn’t sit on my ass for weeks after a longer cycle on the old one. No issues now.

Seems like pricing in Europe is way cheaper than North America. It’s like $50+ Canadian.
I’ve got a Brooks Cambium C17 that I’ve ridden with for thousands of KM, but it’s not super comfortable after 120km at a time, even with padded shorts. My MTB, on the other hand, has a relatively cheap saddle that feels more comfortable with regular shorts… this Wittkop looks like a nice alternative to the Brooks.
Wait you can immediately tell it's not the same symbol.
-The item's symbol has a hollow inside. The one depicted in your pic is heavy black, as you can see that it's darker than the plane itself.
-The pic shows a heavy, bold white outline. This outline is not present in the item's symbol.
-Also just of note, the item's symbol color is red. Isn't that plane using A black/white color for it's cross, like the swastika's color scheme?

The Balkenkreuz was typically black and white, but on a red background flag. I’m not sure the company would go all out with a red coloured saddle. Haha!
I honestly feel like you're making shit up to make a fairly offensive joke. If they were really trying to make the offensive cross, "It would have looked silly" isn't remotely an argument. Plus white goes on most colors, especially Black which is the color of the item, so there's no reason it couldn't have been used.
Great call-out! Probably because most over 500 can’t allow exfiltration of data for security (banks, gov, corp secrets). From my understanding most, if not all, AI data sets are built from our data.
Google and OpenAI was caught (or opening saying) using web spiders for AI datasets, crawling public data from Wikipedia, Facebook, Reddit and more. Google even using data from Google Assistant and other opt-in data “to improve their products”.
I haven’t looked into Microsoft but they are also using OpenAI as they are a major investor for OpenAI.
