I’ve never, not once in my life, saw an ad which managed to make me buy something.
It doesn’t matter what it’s selling. The fact that it’s disrupting whatever I’m doing or making my experience worst makes me refuse to buy whatever it’s selling, and it doesn’t matter how personalized it’ll get. I will never be influenced to buy something just because I saw it on an ad.
This feature will literally do nothing for me. I’ll still block ads, or if they are unblockable for any reason, I’ll just ignore them until they’re done.
true, but remember the ads are mostly subconcious. you often wont think about buying something after seeing an ad, but in the back of your mind you might have a slightly better opinion, or mental association to the brand. so next time you go to buy a product your more likely to remember that brand and buy from them. as much as i would like to believe otherwise, no-one is immune to propaganda
If you’re the type of person who buys new things often then yes. But if you buy the exact same stuff that you’ve been purchasing for 30 years, ads aren’t going to impact you today.
It’s mostly unsettling and a bit creepy. Like you’ll be doing something during the day and then later you’ll see it on Google. Like someone’s watching you.
I’m just like this too, but you have to remember that for every person like us, there’s a person like my wife, who’s buying garbage that she sees on instagram ads nearly every week.
I beg her to at least search for the item and buy it directly so that the website she’s on isn’t getting revenue for ads. It’s petty but makes me feel better.
I was physically restrained by 4 Walmart employees, and convicted based on blatant lies from the LP manager (who legally counts as a “professional witness,” meaning her word is literally law) and a petty larceny effectively bars you from employment for 7 years.
What I “stole?” I was having a bad mental health day and missed a $5 pair of sunglasses on a $2-300 shopping trip.
When the judge started to say “no intent,” she cut the judge off and hollared how she watched me remove the tag “and that’s intent if I ever saw it.” Never mind that the picture SHE BROUGHT TO COURT still had it attached, because PrOfEsSiOnAl WiTnEsS hUrRdUrR.
Yep. Obviously I tried to pay for them and pointed out I spent over $200 like fuck $5, but after she started scrambling and lying in court I think she was probably just bad at her job and desperately trying to get any convictions she could to avoid losing it.
Such an annoying reckless behavior to publicly Call Out a community you’re supposedly part of like this. Every time someone does this, I get a clear mental image of a dog licking its own ass. Just shut up, having random slapfights and compulsive arguing are childish zoomer traits
Im my experience, if your logs are growing that fast for a reason, you’ll get to see it again… and again… and again. And show it to people going, “WTF, have you ever seen anything like this before?”
In my case docker didn’t have a default max size that logs would stop at, so they just grew and grew exponentially. I also had the highest log level turned on to debug something so it was constantly logging a bunch of data.
I used to think it was funny just because it WAS absurd that Hannity (it was Hannity right?) made a big deal out of Obama ordering “fancy mustard” and therefor being unAmerican. I thought it was a good commentary on conservative media’s weird tics. But once I noticed that libs were using it (and tan suit jokes) just as much to absolve Obama of having “real controversies” and not just making fun of Fox News, it lost its edge for me.
ETA: Also its really corny of Contra to engage in such an overused joke, beyond how lib she’s being its also just really gauche.
Tan suit Dijon mustard obama-drone was amusing until I realized how much of politics is theater. It was just too blatant this time, but so much of American news is only slightly more serious than Dijon mustard.
You may be too young to understand this. I received a chain email that said you are now immune to any consequences of not forwarding, and still entitled to the benefits of all requests to forward. I feel no compunction whatsoever to even think about what someone online wants me to do. Frrreeeeeeedoooooommmm.
Younger than me. You may have missed the chain emails that are the same as the fbook posts, “post this on your wall and you will get everything you desire. If you don’t you may suffer.”
"You've been interfering with domestic and foreign elections, abused your workers, and even appeared with a noted pedophile? What about you promise you won't do it ever again?"
Something, something, the law protects the ruling class, not the common people.
I’d say the bigger issue is if the manager fails to pay an employee for all hours worked (intentionally or accidentally), they don’t get to have cops called to arrest them, it’s on the employee to try to claw back their own money.
Wage theft is a far more significant issue than shoplifting but police, DAs, and legislators aren’t chomping at the bit to address that like they are shoplifting, which should tell you everything you need to know about who our “justice” system serves.
