A random angry act is knocking a sign over, kicking a garbage can, punching a wall. NOT killing someone

tim-clark,
@tim-clark@kbin.social avatar

Same here, cougar sniffing my tent. Another time one screaming and following me and my dogs for 3 miles. Taking a shit once and heard the trees rustle, bear 15ft from me with my pants at my ankles. Best stool softener

We have a finite amount of attention to spend in a day. The each notification takes away a little bit. Add in tik tok and shorts, what is left for real people and life

You can get a golf kart with tye same accessories. Safety, reliability, and quality are a big part of the cost. So is profit.

A 5k car is a golf cart with doors.

Got it 2 decades ago. Downside is my balls hang lower. Which has caused discomfort riding bikes. Finding the right underwear has been crucial for comfort. The other pain is my balls hitting the water, I don't like toilet water on my balls

tim-clark,
@tim-clark@kbin.social avatar

noticed the lower hanging balls immediately. Couple of my friends have the same experience post vasectomy m, balls hang lower. Granted I already had grandad balls at 24 when I got snipped. Definitely could get some puppetry going

tim-clark,
@tim-clark@kbin.social avatar

Water is at the bottom like normal toilets. Probably have 3-4 inches of sack hanging. Some toilets are deeper than others, public vs private mostly. The worst are the almond shaped public toilets that are really shallow

tim-clark,
@tim-clark@kbin.social avatar

Scalpel.

tim-clark,
@tim-clark@kbin.social avatar

I have been using my great grandma's set of cast iron for the last 2 decades. They work perfectly and look brand new. Properly seasoned and cared for they will last generations. Also no micro plastics or carcinogens

Youtube music is trash!! The black background looks terrible. Stopped listening to music since the switch, my entire library was migrated and then removed by youtube music.

Just shove tampons down the filler tube or any non fuel liquid

My Pixel 6 Pro commited suicide this week (i.imgur.com)

Woke up on Monday and my Pixel 6 Pro wasnt quite fitting in the case while i was checking news while having coffee on the morning. Pushed it in and it didnt seem to fit right. Took the case off to find it had turned itself into a spicy pillow and was splitting along the side. Was 1 month inside warranty, messaged support who...

tim-clark,
@tim-clark@kbin.social avatar

The 6P was great, I bricked 6 of them. Still have one one my desk I use a few times a week.

Excellent speakers and build quality.

tim-clark,
@tim-clark@kbin.social avatar

Totally agree. When Nexus was dropped the switched focus to the casual user.

Then there is the network switching issue thay is still present on PIxels. Switching cell > wifi or the other direction requires a reboot for network. Granted it isn't as bad as it was a year ago. Still a ridiculous bug thay has been around for years on the pixel

Totalitarianism. What are the good things about it?

(Wikipedia) Totalitarianism is a form of government and a political system that prohibits all opposition parties, outlaws individual and group opposition to the state and its claims, and exercises an extremely high if not complete degree of control and regulation over public and private life. It is regarded as the most extreme...

tim-clark,
@tim-clark@kbin.social avatar

Just like how a democracy can work. It all comes down to the people in charge of any system.

tim-clark,
@tim-clark@kbin.social avatar

Yes!!! It is terrible!! Barely last a day with moderate usage.

Overall very disappointed in the 14 pro, it is slower than my Samsung s10+. Half the time when I unlock the screen it won't respond for a minute or 2. Apple says everything is fine with it.

As. Comparison. Samsung s22 ultra streaming music, watching hours of videos, navigating for hours. Will still be 50% after 12hrs of heavy use.

tim-clark,
@tim-clark@kbin.social avatar

My greens ones haven't faded. The orange ones are almost white after a year outside.

tim-clark,
@tim-clark@kbin.social avatar

It won't last like leather

tim-clark,
@tim-clark@kbin.social avatar

Leather case means less micro plastics. Which really doesn't matter to the tech industry, unless it's straws at the office.

In my experience with cases, they don't last as long as the phone does. A leather case would out last the phone and not contribute to micro plastics.

tim-clark,
@tim-clark@kbin.social avatar

I'm going on 15yrs for my ostrich wallet. Looks almost new.

tim-clark,
@tim-clark@kbin.social avatar

That would be interesting. Not sure using bees knees to manufacture it is the best option. We currently have nothing synthetic that has the same properties as leather. It would be good to have a natural non-synthetic alternative.

For example when vivobarefoot stopped using leather for the synthetic alternative. Thier shoes fall apart so fast now and don't provide the same leave of protection.

tim-clark,
@tim-clark@kbin.social avatar

I use the green pacvac at home. It is awesome!! Not bad price and has out lasted every vacuum except the old hoover. Yes, it uses bags but it can really pack them full

tim-clark,
@tim-clark@kbin.social avatar

I'm heading down to the hammer range to practice hitting nails. Listening to gun nuts talk about the use case for guns is ridiculous. It is actually nice to see a few people in this thread acknowledging what a guns primary purpose is.

tim-clark,
@tim-clark@kbin.social avatar

If you practice shooting then you are just practicing to kill. So the folks that own the 400 million guns in the US are just practicing for the intended purpose. Which then you can extrapolate out they are just waiting to kill. Which falls in line with every gun owner I have known. Either practicing to kill animals or people.

tim-clark,
@tim-clark@kbin.social avatar

It's less hoops than gun nuts jump through. Being prepared for an emergency vs being prepared to kill are vastly different. The problem is gun nuts won't acknowledge their raging boners at the thought of using a gun in the slightest perception of an inconvenience. The John Wayne mentality is a detriment to society

How do I tame my frustration toward my aging parents?

My parents are 57 and 63. My mother is erratic, forgetful, and when she gets mad she sometimes screams and throws things. My father is slowly going deaf, getting slower and more stubborn and forgetful as well. They can be infuriating sometimes, but I know that they’re aging and I can’t be mad at them. How do I deal with...

tim-clark,
@tim-clark@kbin.social avatar

You sound angry and entitled.

tim-clark,
@tim-clark@kbin.social avatar

Users are getting dumber by the day!! Half the comments in privacy imply users don't know what they are talking about and need to see a therapist

tim-clark,
@tim-clark@kbin.social avatar

No, based on the silliness i see in privacy. The /s is useful and to deny its usefulness is ignoring the reality of human 2d communication.

tim-clark,
@tim-clark@kbin.social avatar

Totally agree it is a pain to use it. Just helps with clarity for everyone

tim-clark,
@tim-clark@kbin.social avatar

Finally a coherent comment on privacy!!!

tim-clark,
@tim-clark@kbin.social avatar

I use a macbook for work. Chrome is ridiculously buggy and sucking every bit of memory. Firefox is almost as bad. Chrome is really bad when using more than 1 tab. Firefox has rendering issues with jira and git. Chrome compelling locks up when using meet, Firefox is slightly better.

In my opinion all browsers have sucked since 2015. Slow, unresponsive, rendering issues, resource hogs. Overall the browser experience has led me to use the internet less and less. It is not the privacy, it is the basic functionality is not working consistently.

The real death panels is the health insurance industry. Disgusting the number of people that die each year from 100% curable illnesses purely in the name of profit. Saw a statistic from the CDC that it is in the 70-80k range a year

So ads for their mail list and more data to be sold later. Size doesn't matter when it comes to ads and nefarious content.

It's just a little pop up...

tim-clark,
@tim-clark@kbin.social avatar

So you want more spam ads in your email that is already overloaded with spam. No thanks, no social media site needs to send me email.

tim-clark,
@tim-clark@kbin.social avatar

I love oregon, no sales tax so the listed price is the price. Now all these idiots moved here and are making changes as to why this place was nice. Like trying to implement a sales tax and getting rid of the urban growth boundary

tim-clark,
@tim-clark@kbin.social avatar

Anything over a class 2 should be licensed and require insurance. In the US if you are traveling faster than 12mph you are required to follow traffic laws. Some states even require vehicle insurance if there is an incident above 12mph.

tim-clark,
@tim-clark@kbin.social avatar

Yes. Almost 50 in US. Owned over 100 manual vehicles.

Had to be able to start on a hill to get my license.

tim-clark,
@tim-clark@kbin.social avatar

Libertarians have always been right leaning people in sheep's clothing. Entitled people who think laws don't apply to them and apply to everyone else. Have heard this sentiment for decades directly from Libertarians. The entire concept is shallow thinking, disregarding science and human nature. What Libertarians are missing is empathy and the social contract of humanity.

Libertarian = self serving narcissist that lacks empathy.

tim-clark,
@tim-clark@kbin.social avatar

I agree with that. In the last 2 decades libertarian has turned into republicunt with out the name.

The only people that I have met in the last 2 decades that claim to be libertarians are white men in the tech industry. Half of them since 2016 turned full Maga

tim-clark,
@tim-clark@kbin.social avatar

Dictionary and functional meaning are very different. Once you start drilling into their ideology it is just replicunts without wanting to take the name.

tim-clark,
@tim-clark@kbin.social avatar

Is there really a difference?

In case you're mad at yourself for closing your precious window with all the right tabs opened, note that Firefox allows to reopen recently closed windows (jlai.lu)

I generally have a “home” Firefox window with my most used tabs pinned. Sometimes I close it before another window, so I was frustrated to “lose” it and having to redo my pins. But recently I discovered this feature. Joy!

tim-clark,
@tim-clark@kbin.social avatar

Currently have 5 windows open with 10-30 tabs each. Use them all everyday. Easier to keep tabs open then dig through bookmarks.

That is the purpose of having tabs and multiple windows. They can sit unused until needed.

We should have something like federated communities

Communities on different instances about the same topic should have the option to essentially federate so a post on one appears on all of them and opening any of them shows you the comments from all of them. This way when lemmy.world is down its not a big deal because posting to any news community federates to all of the...

tim-clark,
@tim-clark@kbin.social avatar

Yeah, a single site with all the communities. Like reddit....
