Only things keeping me from using it more are my TV and computer, so I’d say… A lot.

Take face/off of dead Castor Troy, put it on some guy played by Steve Buscemi. Steve Buscemi’s face goes in a vat, until they need john travolta’s brother (played by michael madsen) to become Steve Buscemi’s character. Repeat the basic plot of the first one (Idk I’m not in the writer’s guild) with these guys playing each other and you’ll have a good time!

Here’s a few sludgy/doomy metal bands I’ve been listening to a lot lately: Froglord, Squalus, GUHTS, Grayceon, Hippie Death Cult

Also I think he’s starting to breach mainstream popularity, but I’d be remiss if I didn’t spread the word of Amigo the Devil (dark country/folk, “murderfolk”)

Yep definitely! I almost saw them live once with Firebreather, but there was another show the same night with The Sword. We picked The Sword, and I’m glad we did since they’ve called it quits and Monolord is still around.

We caught Firebreather twice on a recent tour they did, once in NYC (GUHTS, already mentioned opened) and again in SF (Snakemother opened - also worth checking out!).

Still waiting for Monolord to make a return trip to the SF Bay area to fill up my bingo card lol

Return of the King, midnight showing as the tail end of a triple feature. Also the first two were the shown as their extended editions. It was quite an event!

There was one other instance where I remember applause at a theater, but I’m blanking on what movie it was. Trying to think of what might’ve had the right crowd for it, and that I saw close enough to it’s release date. Maybe The Force Awakens, or Endgame? Dunno…

Yea I start playing music from my phone as soon as I’m awake enough to figure out what I want to listen to. It helps me fully wake up a bit quicker. After shower, etc I change it to cast to my living room speaker system, or back to my phone (+headphones) if I’m going out.

I don’t need to know which is which, they’re more or less sorted by recency. So I go through the most recent tabs and get the info I need or do the task associated, then close them, until I get back to the previous task or subject.

Sometimes I get interrupted with a new thing to look up or do, and more tabs get made and the cycle begins anew, regardless of how many already exist.

Some projects last days or weeks, and tabs related to them end up being longer-lived. If I get on one of those tabs and don’t want to work on the project right then, I’ll continue going back (leftwards) til I find something I can do or read in the time I have available. So I definitely have tabs that have been open for months but I do need to get to eventually.

Also, sometimes when I need to look at something I know I have (or had) open in a tab, I’ll just search for it (literally, i.e. Google) again in a new tab and handle it there. Then if I do come across the old tab, it gets closed quickly.

I’m “done” when I’m back at my inbox or calendar (first or 2nd tabs, pinned). This rarely happens and when it does I’m sure there is a something in my email or a new ticket in JIRA for me to start on…

So overall it’s not about knowing what’s in each tab, but having a system to navigate them that works for you.

Yea I didn’t know about the infinity (or smiley face in chrome apparently) until reading this thread. Most I’ve ever had is probably in the 60 range, but on average probably 25-35.

There is a fun podcast called Drunk History of Middle Earth that is essentially this dynamic the whole time - a husband/wife duo where the guy is trying to teach her about Tolkien. She’s genuinely open to it, so it’s probably less annoying than some other instances of that pattern. Aside from the hearing new perspectives on the lore, it’s interesting to vicariously experience the stories for the first time again.

Also I love their accents, and how they sometimes expose their personal lives to the world and talk through stuff as a couple - it’s very endearing

Edit to add: there are no ads! It’s so refreshing

I fell asleep the first time, my wife didn’t.

On her side, she was much more of a Tolkien nerd at the time, though I think I’ve surpassed her (an indictment of myself, I assure you).

For my part, I was burned out from classwork and did not experience anything from Moria to Amon Hen. Like, I didn’t even remember that I fell asleep - or rather, waking up. So it wasn’t until I saw it again that I realized I missed Galadriel and a whole lot else. This exacerbates my confusion about what’s in the theatrical/extended, to say the least.

As a straight I gotta agree. I knew this wasn’t about me and have no problem with it 🤷‍♂️

Same thing when people talk about “white people be like…” if I’m not like that then it doesn’t affect me and I probably just laugh along with the OP/creator

Sounds like a “them” problem, you keep doing what you’re doing. Maybe they’ll eventually get it, maybe not. Unless you give up sharing content with them entirely, of course, but that’s your choice.
