ohlaph,

I will sell you good walking shoes.

ohlaph,

Contribute, both financially and by providing content, and don’t be a dick.

ohlaph,

I haven’t dove into the Android app options and honestly, as an Android developer, I might just make my own.

ohlaph,

A little shocked, but so little, it can’t even be measured.

ohlaph,

we got lucky and now we’re stuck.

Same. Hoping I don’t get caught up in the tech layoffs and firings.

ohlaph,

Yeah, I asked it to write some stuffs and it did it incorrectly, then I told it what it wrote was incorrect and it said I was right and rewrote the same damn thing.

ohlaph,

He’s a pile of garbage. Worthless.

ohlaph,

Gardening has been fun. Listening to the birds in my garden, hiking, taking walks.

I’m trying to focus on the journey of life more as I used to be a weekend warrior. But so much life happens between the weekends and focusing more on that had been helping me mentally.

As for finding meaning, I can’t answer that. I am in my 40s and have never found meaning. But there are things I enjoy, so I try to focus on the thing I find joy in.

ohlaph,

40s m, onions, tomatoes, garlic.

ohlaph,

Haha, reminds me of that meme. Guy, age 25, former child. It was explaining when you have no life experience.

Edit: link

ohlaph,

mIRC life

ohlaph,

Snap crackle pop joints slowly rise up.

ohlaph,

That’s probably what makes it harder for people to seamlessly join.

ohlaph,

Most people buy computers with the OS already installed and would get just as lost trying to install MacOS or Windows.

ohlaph,

Usually if they don’t announce his termination, he eas reassigned until things blow over.

ohlaph,

Ahh yes, welcome to your 40s.

Why is Linux so frustrating for some people?

Don’t get me wrong. I love Linux and FOSS. I have been using and installing distros on my own since I was 12. Now that I’m working in tech-related positions, after the Reddit migration happened, etc. I recovered my interest in all the Linux environment. I use Ubuntu as my main operating system in my Desktop, but I always end...

ohlaph,

The average person wants the iphone experience. They want the device to just work. Sometimes, in Linux, you have to install things that aren’t so straight forward and the average person has no clue how to do that.

If we want more people on Linux, we need to dumb it down a lot.

ohlaph,

Harlow is in the fireplace, Adobo is in the window, and Sesqua is on the couch.

For some reason, I used the memory palace to remember that several years ago when I first heard about it and I still remember it.

ohlaph,

Pure randomness. Just wanted to try and memorize random things to see if it works.

You can't uninstall this software without being forced to participate in their survey (lemmy.world)

I initially only installed “Comodo Firewall” but for some reason they also installed a “Comodo Dragon Browser”, which I did not consent to. I always choose the “advanced” installation to uncheck bloatware, but in this case there was none and when you try to uninstall the browser, they force you to participate in...

ohlaph,

Why 20 computers? Not judging, just curious. Also, what flavor distros are you using?

ohlaph,

Similar to McAfee.

ohlaph,

I think they closed many of their locations, so for some people it gives the illusion they do not exist.

ohlaph,

That 3.8 rating had me a bit worried to try them.

ohlaph,

Haha.

ohlaph,

Din Tai Fung and Kizuki Ramen are my top chains.

ohlaph,

Trust fund, wealthy parents, etc. The average person can’t afford to travel like that.

ohlaph,

Tune out the things you don’t have control over, lets yourself recover, enjoy some of your hobbies, and ehen you’re ready, ease back in.

ohlaph,

Sometimes, I’ll treat myself to some ice cream. Just thought you should know.

ohlaph,

That is rough. I have been there, usually time heals. Try to keep your head up.

ohlaph,

For some people, all they can handle is just the tip.

ohlaph,

I think we have time for that. Is Pepsi okay?

ohlaph,

Yeah, a regular (new regular after shrinkflation) bag of chips is $5 now. No thanks.

ohlaph,

I mostly moved to Lemmy. I still browse reddit, but I stay logged out and no longer contribute and my old account was on the top 1% for comment karma. I’ll bring that energy to lemmy.

ohlaph,

They basically trimmed the fat. Those who they weren’t monetizing are no longer using as many resources for free. They force people to use their system so they can show them ads.

ohlaph,

True. And while the comment section still gets several thousand participating, it’ll keep people’s attention.

One thing I miss is reading a comment section for over sn hour because it was almost endless entertainment. Hopefully Lemmy can provide some of that golden content.

ohlaph,

Yeah, I find the content stagnates more and spend hardly any time now.

ohlaph,

Well said. Even dome Reddit lurkers said they would comment here to help grow the communities more.

ohlaph,

Sounds about right. Their site is bad, the app is bad… pure profit driven.

ohlaph,

Same. That movie was legit scary.

ohlaph,

Diarrhea doesn’t always win.

ohlaph,

It really is. If someone is willing to be weird about your phone choice, I question the other stuff they might be weird about. Major red flag.

ohlaph,

I have two hard drives, one to boot linux and the other is windows, mostly for gaming. I wish I could ditch windows, but I haven’t been able to rid the lag and rendering issues I experience on Fedora.

ohlaph,

Same. I only knew a few people who were willing to download it. Everyone else is using Telegram.

ohlaph,

Swap Signal for Telegram and we’re the same.
