See, there are some weird types like me who actually like the smell of 100LL, and don’t mind plane noise. I’d live there. But yeah, it’s definitely not for everyone.
Gives you a rough magnetic heading so you can line up easier and keep your pattern straight. Also to tell others which way you’re going to keep from crashing head-on (a north/south strip might be 36/18, for example, so ppl know which way you’re going).
I’ve grown up in the same educational situation, and this is exactly what I’ve experienced. Their attempted indoctrination turned me into a liberal, antichristian agnostic. But with mental health issues, because emotional abuse is better than “letting your kid go to hell”…
Let’s please keep this civil. I respectfully disagree, but I have no problem with you voicing your opinion. The issue is your assumption that the person who disagrees with you is a horrible individual, simply because they have a different opinion. I don’t even care who’s right at this point - we can debate an issue without insulting each other. And even if you’re enraged by it, hiding that fact and calmly countering their opinion with logic is far more effective at winning over an audience…
Edit: Before any accusation of unfair treatment is made, I’d like to clarify that I disapprove of the original comment’s rhetoric as well - there was no good reason to insult conservatives (“greedy [expletive]”) like they did.
Exactly. If you went to school for 16 years to become a neurosurgeon, I have no problem with your $500k salary. But a $1mil+ salary because you started a fast food chain where the employees make minimum wage? That’s slavery.
There wasn’t any “haughty arrogance,” they were just adding on to what you said with their view, and (from my understanding) were attempting to be polite by clarifying how your point still stands. Not everything is an argument…

Idk how the legal accusations stand up, as there are warnings and liability disclaimers everywhere on it…
I’ve eaten it, most of my friends have, and we were fine. But I’ve known others who reacted much more strongly to just a crumb, so I can see how with preexisting conditions that could happen.
I live in Arizona. These have been coming out in the evening. They are 1-2” long and looking like really skinny earthworms. I took it to the local pest supply store and they had never seen anything like it.
Agreed. But in cases where a large amount of energy is needed on one tank/charge (large freight haulers, long-distance busses, trains, etc.) hydrogen might be a good alternative to petrol while we work on improving battery capacity and recharge times.
In “Thus Spoke Zarathustra,” by Friederich Nietzsche, the “prophet” went into the forest to meditate on the death of god, and met a monk. He spoke to the monk, and only after leaving did he contemplate: “Has he not realized that god is dead?”
He never told the monk. He lets him believe what he wants, because god is dead, and religion will die soon enough without ruining the lives of those who depend on it - those who cannot accept the truth.
Nietzsche also said that many “should not read my books, if they can.” The realization of god’s non-credibility cannot be forced, one must come upon it on their own…
It’s both. In English, it uses Germanic gods for all but Saturday. French uses the Roman names (Latin etymology instead of Germanic). Sunday and Monday exist in both (with different names for Sun and Moon), and Saturday in Germanic languages is usually not related to a deity (it varies by region though). In English we get a nice mix of gods because we have both Germanic and Latin roots.
Also, to convert Proto-Germanic to Old West Norse, Woden = Odin, Tor = Thor, Friga = Frigg/Freyja (the names got mixed up in etymology, they might be the same goddess), and Tiw/Tiwar = Tyr.
So taking time out of your summer as a student and sacrificing fun for the love of learning is “gaming the system,” and needs to be abolished? No wonder the United States school system is messed up…
They need to help the wild population, and start a legal, domesticated population in conservation centres for rehabilitation research and the pet trade.
That would simultaneously end the illegal pet trade with a sustainable alternative, provide research into how to take care of the wild population, preserve the wild ecosystem by having a separate population for pets and humane research, allow the captivity population to get used to humans without damaging the wild population’s survival instincts, and open the possibility of humane and loving reptile keepers to have one of these cute dragon-kitten-lizard creatures as a pet.
I see that this joke is satire, making fun of those people now. Which is fine, just not my cup of tea since I grew up with people who actually believed that and weren’t using it sarcastically.
I agree for the majority of cases, but a few have shown that they can argue logically, albeit with faulty premises. Will showing their fallacies convince them to change their mind? No. But it might help prevent others from being sucked into it. We must show they’re wrong with logic, or others might wonder why we censor them, and start giving them a chance without seeing the fallacies it’s built on.
