If the picture in the OP is the only alternative, I wouldn’t mind, you can easily collapse json/yaml and only focus on the section you need. Maybe split into files based on functionality.
Well, for example, there’s no reason eslintrc and eslintignore need to be separate files in any scenario, i would group them and prettier into “formatting”. But, yes I agree, one big file is preferred in most scenarios.
Honestly, babies sleep and eat. Yeah, you have to keep them clean, but kids? They are emotionally manipulative suicidal nightmares too much of the time, and you still have to keep them clean. (I have a 5 and 7 year old.)
If you have sensitives, you should work through them on your own or in counseling. Maybe you’re not ready to view memes/jokes like this one, it’s okay to keep scrolling without sharing your personal trauma. I appreciate your perspective but it is very unique.
If the majority of people would react a certain way, that’s the social norm. Your personal reaction to seeing Bush’s face on 9/11, after 22 years, is just not the norm, nor anyone else’s responsibility. This is not a graphic image, and it was not addressed to you specifically.
Norms aren’t right/wrong. You are on lemmy viewing this image, that’s your population. And that’s what you should be considering when offering your perspective.
You’re being so heavily downvoted because people here don’t agree with you. Not that anyone is right/wrong.
They’re allergic so perhaps never had the chance to experience it. My kitty is curled up in my lap purring, I feel sad that some people underestimate them.
Oh man, this exactly. I’ve taken to cramming in the cleaning the day before but, of course, I end up overdoing it. Then new messes appear by the time I’m ready to try again.
Merging conflicts will be an issue no matter what you’re working on. Maintaining different sets of code bases based on the version/release will be an issue even when working alone.
Situation: You’re building some software to display emojis based on user input.
Current code: when user types “happy”, output 🙂
Your new requirement: when user types “happy”, output 😃 instead of 🙂
Coworker’s new requirement: when user types “sad”, output 😭
You implement your change, back it up, and the new version with 😀 is released. But it turns out 😃 is the ultimate insult in the Snowflake region, and you need to immediately rollback 😃 back to 🙂 while you find an alternative.
Meanwhile, Coworker has added 😭 to your backup, which still has 😃. Now when you try to rollback to 🙂, Coworker’s code gets erased. Now your code is unable to safely support both 😭 with 🙂 without starting over entirely. Maybe you want to disable 😀 only for the Snowflake region, but that’s not possible either without harding coding the regions instead of just changing the deployment.
Now imagine working with a team of 10 people, or a company with 100 people working on this same software. With features and release dates constantly changing.

Maybe he didn’t own any other clothes and after a certain time he had to keep up appearances. I’m picturing him going to extreme lengths to get realistic prosthetic finger replacements as they suffered from frost bite… because everyone thought it was incredible that he was fine in shorts.
In 2017, over 7 million Americans had vision loss or blindness based on best corrected visual acuity in their better-seeing eye (using autorefraction).
Vision Loss: best corrected visual acuity 20/40 or worse.
Blindness: best corrected visual acuity 20/200 or worse.
Total blindness is the complete lack of light perception and form perception, and is recorded as “NLP,” an abbreviation for “no light perception.”
Few people today are totally without sight. In fact, 85% of all individuals with eye disorders have some remaining sight; approximately 15% are totally blind.
I have a question. I also have BPD. Every time it comes up online, all the discussion is around “avoiding toxic BPD people” and “how to cut off family members because of their BPD.” Are there any good resources for someone who wants to… not, be so much of a burden??
There are a lot of manual labor, factory, and agriculture jobs that don’t require high literacy. It’s also not clear if they’re limiting it to “English literacy”.
I know this is just a thread to vent, but I really want you to focus on the fact that communicating how you felt helped the situation so much. Please don’t wait 5 more years to try that again.
