Because it’s not releasing on PC?

Some of the water is evaporated so it doesn’t leave as a liquid.

lechatron,
@lechatron@lemmy.today avatar

Some water is used in humidifiers, there are also systems that use direct evaporative cooling where the water is eveporated to cool the hot air. There are probably other ways the water is lost.

AWS’ preferred cooling strategy for its data centers is known as direct evaporative cooling. In this system, hot air is pulled from outside and pushed through water-soaked cooling pads. The water evaporates, reducing the air’s temperature, and the cool air is then sent into the server rooms.

These cooling systems remove and release all of the heat produced inside a data center – from servers, IT equipment, and mechanical infrastructure – into the outside environment, through a cooling tower that uses a water evaporation process.

It goes outside and eventually becomes rain.

@lechatron@lemmy.today avatar

Water used to cool data centers is either consumed, meaning it evaporates into the atmosphere via the data center’s cooling towers or discharged, as industrial wastewater, usually to a local wastewater treatment plant.

It can’t just be dumped into a river, has to go to a sewer treatment plant.

edit: They do recirculate it, but it eventually needs to be replaced. And some facilities have treatment plants on site, so doesn’t necessarily needed to go to a sewer treatment plant.

You can select the whole table and copy/paste it into a spreadsheet program. Then you have all the spreadsheet tools to use. I just tested in excel and Google sheets and both loaded the data correctly.

edit: Here is that spreadsheet in google sheets.

Same for me, went to watch it on Independence Day and it was a wild ride! Some guy jumped up and yelled “FUCK YEAH, GET SOME!” when Will punched that alien. By far the greatest movie experience I’ve ever had.

Glad they escaped that shit show of a company.

I see what you did there.

So glad I took the recommendation to go into this game blind. Really wish I could wipe my memory and play it again for the first time.

GTA 6’s Publisher Says Video Games Should Theoretically Be Priced At Dollars Per Hour (www.forbes.com)

While Take-Two is riding high on their announcement that a GTA 6 trailer is coming, its CEO has some…interesting ideas on how much video games could cost, part of a contingent of executives that believe games are underpriced, given their cost, length or some combination of the two.

lechatron,
@lechatron@lemmy.today avatar

CEO wants more money, more news at 11.

Joking aside, length of a game is a terrible metric for price. I always consider how much time I spend playing a game compared to the price for the ROI. But a lot of games just add filler content that is copy and paste missions.

Moms for Liberty members call the cops on Florida librarians (popular.info)

Two members of Moms for Liberty, a right-wing activist group, have reported several Florida school librarians to law enforcement. They claimed they had evidence that librarians were distributing "pornography" to minors and requested that law enforcement officers be dispatched. This represents a serious escalation of the tactics...

I met him briefly at Blizzcon '09, seemed like a fun guy, he was out with other Blizzard folks and I bought them all a round.

One thing I remember the most about his days at Blizzard was even through all the hatred thrown his way he seemed to stay engaged with the community discussions. Something I think has been missing since I quit playing 6 or 7 years ago.

From what I’ve seen using the exclamation mark gives the best experience as the person clicking the link stays within their same instance, rather than going to the instance the community is hosted on. Also it looks like how you linked the community made the system think it’s an email address so it doesn’t work that way.

Do you know how many times I install and uninstall a game before I even play it? I could probably destroy a small game company on my own with this fee structure, and I’m sure I’m not alone with the constant installing and uninstalling.

Anyone else's dog hate it when you use your phone?

I have a 1 year old Bichon Frise and she cannot stand the sight of someone using their phone. It’s not even when she was already trying to play with you and you pull out your phone, she can be laying on the coffee table while you’re on the couch, she’d be doing her own thing, but the instant you start using your phone she...

Why is my cat so anxious? (lemmy.world)

This is Cleo. She is 2.5 years of age. I have posted about her before actually. I worry about her because she gets so anxious that it harms her. She has had an outbreak of hives on her skin, especially her ears, for the last week or so, and she has been picky about when and what she wants to eat, if at all. We got a kitten in...

Dogs are predators though, I think what you’re talking about applies to herd animals that are prey, predators will pick off the weakest.

I always thought that pack animals abandoned their sick or injured to not slow down the rest of the pack which is why dogs hide injuries. But apparently wolves protect their injured.

You should pick up some carpal tunnel wrist braces while you wait to see a doctor. They immobilize your wrists while you sleep and prevent any more damage to the nerves. If you ever wake up with numb fingers that’s most likely what’s happening.

Is there a collection of all human knowledge ever created ?

Recently I was wandering if there is someone or some group preserving , collecting , organizing and publishing all the knowledge of mankind ever created throughout its existence so that if ever mankind faces the 6th mass extinction we don’t have to reinvent the wheel and can have a kick start to our new post apocalyptic...

Sea of Stars devs working on DLC and next game as throwback RPG sells a year’s worth of copies in one week (www.rockpapershotgun.com)

Sea of Stars developers Sabotage Studio have confirmed that they’re already working on DLC for their warmly-received love letter to classic RPGs, along with their next standalone game. My best guess is safety, if you had a heavy load in there the momentum could keep the drum spinning much longer than normal. I’m sure they could add a sensor to check, but that’s just an extra cost. So rather than allowing you to open the machine while it’s still spinning and possibly injure yourself reaching in, they keep it locked for a few more minutes.

If you’re playing full albums there are so few songs on an album that are as good as the singles that get played on the radio. I bought a lot of tapes and CDs as a teenager and was very disappointment when there weren’t more than a couple on the album I liked (most of which were the singles).
