We’ve known that the iPhone is switching to USB-C for a while now, but there was always a possibility that Apple would stick with Lightning for one more year. Based on the latest leaked images, however, Apple is all-in on USB-C for the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models, with USB-C parts for the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, and...
When I first started this show I found it to be a really awkward mix of comedy and seriousness. It had some jokes thrown it at the most inopportune times as some kind of comic relief from a really serious situation. Perhaps the first half of the first season was actually a bit rough or maybe the show just grew on me, but by...
Yeah the forced insert of the new character was annoying. Its sad that seth mcfarlanes love life affects the characters and plot lines in the show. Alara was one of my favorite characters
Do you buy it in small quantities like that, or do you move some ground bud into them for short term storage? Ive seen a couple posts of people with ground weed in concentrate containers & im so curious lol. I could see it working well of you want some variety to take to party or something but dont want to worry about loosing your whole stash.
I think people like watching things they can relate to / fantasize about doing.
So i would think old people would enjoy watching old people, at least some of the time. Kinda like 30 something moms who are really into dad bods. Or all the milf porn some middle aged dudes like.
I love the texture and purpose that visible mending gives things. It reminds me of kintsugi-- repairing ceramics with gold. It makes the object feel so much more special and loved. Like that thing has a history and a complex life story.
Different note: does anyone know if there is a visible mending community already on lemmy?
I know a lot of lurkers like me out there are browsing, but there’s quite a bit of engagement capitol on the federated instances. If you find an interesting topic and the right community, you get a lot of feedback. There’s not much hate being thrown out there either.
That is really nice, im glad i saw your commect tho – the aussie instance seems like a great place & i subbed to a few communities there :) slowly but surely the niche subs will het active lol
I think this is a really good long term strategy, and something that is already happening to some level.
Many instances are open about blocking others, and warn eachother of bad instances (like a instance full of spam bots or bigots). I could definetly see this evolving into an alliance type network like you described.
Be the change you want to see. There are probably other people looking for those coversations, but see low engagement and move on. The more you post the more attractive it makes the community for other people.
I have also found that even if there are fewer comments, other people tend to respond and have more discussions.
I do have alot of hope that well see the community continue to grow & hopefully more activity as people search out reddit alternatives.
My title might be a bit hyperbolic, but stuff like this worries me. I love to read and I love reading on a kindle. This has been going on for a while, but it has now reached absurd levels.
What genres are you looking for? There are a couple good communities, but youre right, not nearly as big or as niche as most subreddits. Though ive found the reccomendations to be higher quality when i do see them.
Hmmm I am more of a sci-fi person, but I’ve definitely still seen some threads talking about fantasy books. I’m guessing you’re already on the main book communities like [email protected][email protected] ? They are pretty active and I do see discussion on threads talking about fantasy books. There is also the fantasy community [email protected] – which does admittedly have pretty low traffic (though, you could be the change you want to see…). I found one niche community that was very recently made [email protected]
I get how hard it can be to find active book reading communities & wish I had more suggestions in the fantasy realm. If you have a specific sub genre in mind, search for it or maybe even make a community for it. I was surprised to find a few different scifi sub genres already had active communities on lemmy & even recently made communities are growing fairly quickly with the new users.
Good luck finding your next page turner & lmk if you want sci-fi recs :)
Does anyone else use the android app Connect for Lemmy? It reminds me of Infinity for Reddit. If you use it, do you like it better than Jerboa? I also found another new Lemmy app called Liftoff....
Apologies if this is a basic question, but I am curious to know what I am missing out on by not having access to private torrents? I have been able to find everything I wanted using public ones.
