fartsinger,

Let's just have ChatGPT do it.

fartsinger,

It took some level of self control for me to skip this game but seriously, fuck modern Blizzard. Seeing news like this makes me feel less like I'm missing out.

fartsinger,

Yeah, for fairness in online interactions, but most games (used to?) have some kind of single player where modding is ok. As I read this you literally can't mod the game.

fartsinger,

Same story here, plus I loved the different "moods" thing. I don't think I ever got past like the second screen but it's still a game that's stuck with me. I'll be looking out for the remaster.

Twitter is now X as the little blue bird disappears (www.theverge.com)

Twitter is transforming into X, as the site’s former bird logo has now been replaced by an official new X logo. Elon Musk, who owns the transformed social media site, began signaling the change early Sunday morning with a series of tweets, starting with one that said, “and soon we shall bid adieu to the twitter brand and,...

fartsinger,

Omg, it's "outlet by the lightswitch!" I've been trying to decipher that line for years!

fartsinger,

Well then they wouldn't make $170 a second.

fartsinger,

Bro do you not understand what a public Internet forum is?

fartsinger,

Yeah we use TLS, everything's encrypted!

fartsinger,

I think people might be saying "funny" to mean "relatable" because this comic is for sure not funny.

fartsinger,

Yeah for that we'd need a Gigantic LANGUAGE Model.

fartsinger,

You fact check your calculator? Like with another calculator, or do you do it by hand?

fartsinger,

But 100 times IS math?

fartsinger,

What are y'all doing on your phones???

fartsinger,

Yep. I came while typing this.

fartsinger,

This article is poorly fact checked. All they'd have to do is look at a calendar to see it's not May.

fartsinger,

Oh...well then I'm impressed by its accuracy.

fartsinger,

I think it would be cool if the big generic "post anything we like" magazines had their own personality instead of just directly ripping off popular subreddits.

fartsinger,

You kind of are because I was going to but now I feel like that would seem like I'm just doing whatever you say.

fartsinger,

Bastard! I'll show you!

fartsinger,

It's not like they were making anything good. There's so much great media that already exists, this has like zero impact on me as a viewer.

fartsinger,

By sheer coincidence I just watched John Mulaney's Hot Wings episode and he agrees with me.

fartsinger,

I kind of assumed that and when they mentioned the writer's strike I assumed it was the last one and then they mentioned AI and I was like what a coincidence, those things are happening today! But then I looked at the date and it was just recent. Thanks for your time.

fartsinger,

I can't even begin to describe how little sense that makes.

fartsinger,

That's the exact reason why I run TempleOS, it is immune to this known critical vulnerability because it does not have a vmlinuz file.

fartsinger,

So he connected her to the WiFi but didn't set up the proxy he knew was required and just expected her to figure it out from there? Wtf? At no time in history would I expect a rando to even know what a web proxy is, let alone the address of this particular one.

fartsinger,

Anyone in the top 10 is doing it for the love of the game. You don't get to the top without passion.

fartsinger,

We talking P. Worrell or the developer guy?

fartsinger,

Well of course it is, do you want to emulate reddit or not?

All programs should tell you where they store config files (utcc.utoronto.ca)

I wholeheartedly agree with this blog post. I believe someone on here yesterday was asking about config file locations and setting them manually. This is in the same vein. I can't tell you how many times a command line method for discovering the location of a config file would have saved me 30 minutes of googling.

fartsinger,

Procmon if you're a masochist, or do a before and after snapshot. Here's one tool for the latter: https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/registry_changes_view.html
