There is so many distros that are just ubuntu without snaps, is just a matter of picking one of them

drew_belloc,
@drew_belloc@programming.dev avatar

Pop os, linux mint, linux lite, etc.

The first 2 may do a lot pf changes to the base but that’s what make them better them ubuntu in my opinion

drew_belloc,
@drew_belloc@programming.dev avatar

Most of them use, unless you pick something like pop os that has it’s own kernel packages it will use the default ubuntu kernel

drew_belloc,
@drew_belloc@programming.dev avatar

Honestly i agree, that’s why i love that more and more debian based distros are emerging, lot of times from distros that used to be based on ubuntu

drew_belloc,
@drew_belloc@programming.dev avatar

I didn’t knew that, the canonical influence on debian can really become a problem down the line. I will also checkout more about what canonical did along the years

I see you’re a degenerate of culture as well

Having on taskbar already give it a keybind on most cases, i quickly open my “work” apps with super + (3…5)

drew_belloc,
@drew_belloc@programming.dev avatar

Unless you’re on windows it doesn’t make sense to call it “windows key” so on linux we call it super or meta key most of the time

drew_belloc,
@drew_belloc@programming.dev avatar

Not on all keyboards

drew_belloc,
@drew_belloc@programming.dev avatar

No, mine have “win” on it, and i cry everyday on my bath because of that. One day i will buy a penguin key… one day…

drew_belloc,
@drew_belloc@programming.dev avatar

Doom emacs, i just love the keyboard centric workflow that it provides

I’ve used kate a good time ago, it’s my favorite linux default gui text editor

YouTube is axing its ad-free Premium Lite subscription plan - The Verge (www.theverge.com)

I was happily using this for a year or so now. Feels fairer than using an ad blocker. But now they apparently want more money out of people. Feels like some sort of internet video apocalypse is happening, where the services become extremely fragmented and expensive, like YouTube, netflix, hbo, Hulu, Disney+ and whatnot. Each...

drew_belloc,
@drew_belloc@programming.dev avatar

The only thing keeping me on youtube is the fact that i still can have a rss feed (since the app wasn’t a good way the check for new videos) and that third party front-ends still work, if they manage to destroy all the third parties apps like reddit i’m out

Is not chromium, has a good UI, supports manifest v2, is open source and have native support for autoscrolling on linux

I feel attacked, the pc came with a 4:3 monitor for you information… the bigger one was a the gift

Let’s fight for this future my friends

If the language doesn’t force me to use semicolons i will forget

drew_belloc,

I will keep this legacy alive within my code

I always give extra details to npcs that work on places like the tavern, the forge, etc. My friends like to ask lot of questions to them or wanna to kill them just for the sake of chaos, so they always have a full character sheet and backstories, secrets, connections, etc.

You now you can ask for a refund on PC right?.. Right?

It was just a joke, for most games is hard to know if they are good or not in just 2 hours, in some jrpgs you are still in the tutorial in that point, at least is really usefull if the game is not running well or at all

drew_belloc,
@drew_belloc@programming.dev avatar

Change the OS cursor, i don’t know about mac but you can do that on windows and linux

drew_belloc,
@drew_belloc@programming.dev avatar

Do you use a keyboard? All the cool kids use punch cards

drew_belloc,
@drew_belloc@programming.dev avatar

It is possible, some games like to have some extras like wallpapers, custom icons, etc, specially back them. I would love to see more of that, the last time i’ve seem was with yakuza kiwami with some avatars, wallpapers and animated arts to use on steam.

drew_belloc,
@drew_belloc@programming.dev avatar

I have a pc with a old nvidia gpu (gt 635), i have only had 2 problems with it, wayland runs really slow and plasma not even open in wayland, the other problem only happens on arch linux where most of my steam games don’t work or don’t work well on the native steam client, but works fine in the flatpak version, but i don’t have that problem in pop os. So i would say that old nvidia gpus may have some problems, but it don’t seem to be a real problem, but if you can go with amd it will be a better option

drew_belloc,
@drew_belloc@programming.dev avatar

Wait! Is not the other way around?

drew_belloc,
@drew_belloc@programming.dev avatar

So french is just like portuguese, but in portuguese you normally know if something is male or female by the ending of the words (with a feel exceptions), for example pizza is female because ends with “a”

drew_belloc,
@drew_belloc@programming.dev avatar

In brazil sandwich is male and we speak portuguese

drew_belloc,
@drew_belloc@programming.dev avatar

Sorry, i forget that we speak brazilian most of the time and spanish on the weekends

drew_belloc,
@drew_belloc@programming.dev avatar

Good to know, french is on my list of languages that i wanna learn someday

drew_belloc,
@drew_belloc@programming.dev avatar

What is this smell? Is that the smell of self experience?

drew_belloc,
@drew_belloc@programming.dev avatar

I’m gonna print it and put on my door

drew_belloc,
@drew_belloc@programming.dev avatar

There’s another way?

drew_belloc,
@drew_belloc@programming.dev avatar

Flatpaks are my way to go for a GUI app, just made a script to install apps directly from flathub

drew_belloc,
@drew_belloc@programming.dev avatar

I’ve been using a little, learned at the start of the month and really enjoyed, but since it don’t have many user sometimes is hard to find how to do something, it was easy to create a webserver but i really wanna to create a qt application with it (since i use kde plasma), but i can’t find a proper way of doing it

drew_belloc,
@drew_belloc@programming.dev avatar

Oh thank you, this might work and i will also bookmark the list too
