I am looking to use Android tv and Kodi for offline use in an RV and I think this is what I’ll try next. Didn’t want to have to buy another shield pro just to do that.
Tbf, a lot of these multi gig plans are geared to families, where more than one person could be doing high bandwidth activities. Or even just one person doing high bandwidth things doesn’t cause the other persons zoom call to stutter.
That being said, ain’t no one NEED 20gbits but by god I would enjoy it.
Really wish they would update it to allow you to define the space boundaries with the headset on. With the Vive if you don’t start it a certain way then you have to redo the boundary setup.
Any way to swap the actions for tapping vs holding? To me it makes more sense for a tap to expand it and a long press to open the app. Searches popped up results from last year that it is not an option but did they add it to iOS 17?
I was fine when it was just Netflix and Hulu. Corporate greed pulling their content to get their own piece of the pie en masse made me hoist the flag and join the Kodi Real-Debrid gang.
So I’m finally upgrading to multi gig (either 2gb or 5gb google fiber) and will need a new router. On att 1gb atm. I’ve narrowed it down to either the QNAP QHora-301W or the [TP-Link AXE16000 (a.co/d/2q0T4Ow). Curious if anyone else with google fiber is using either of these?...
Could this be a case of gen z having a larger online presence than boomers? Kind of like how people from Florida are more likely to be attacked by sharks than someone from Kansas?
Edit: I somehow missed this on the first pass.
There are a few theories that seem to come up again and again. First, Gen Z simply uses technology more than any other generation and is therefore more likely to be scammed via that technology
You have to laugh … I remember Glastonbury, up to my knees in mud - it’s all part of the fun. Having said that, it’s unlikely turn into a survival situation in a field in Somerset, so not really that comparable …
The weather-related disruptions have caused suspension of the cleaning and emptying of thousands of portable toilets. Event organizers have said more rain was expected through Sunday before the festivals ends on Monday.
This is an odd one. The only whole house shut off is on the city side of my meter and the person from public works I talked to said only the city could operate it and if it were to break while I operated it I could be held financially liable....
Crazy thing is, one of the methods plumbers use to install a shutoff valve if they can’t turn off the city point is to freeze the pipe before where the new shutoff valve is to be installed. I always thought that was wild.
I think I misunderstood him. I assumed he meant that the inside of his house was 95, but I think he meant that the outside was 95. Still anything over 80 indoors I can’t handle.
Edit: nope just read his other reply and it was 95 inside. Again, fuck that.

So I’m having an issue where the two finger swipe to go back to the main inbox doesn’t work when viewing an email. I can swipe forward from the inbox to go forward to the page that an email is on. This only occurs on Firefox. I tried both Chrome and Safari and both allow the gesture....
Okay, so figured out this only occurs if the email is short enough to not be scrollable, which so far have only been my test emails. Still haven’t found a fix. Such a strange issue.

The one example I’ve heard that makes sense are NFTs to represent a purchase of digital games. This then allows the selling of digital keys second hand.
Of course not, but what little I know of NFTs is they do the two things needed for that to be possible: one, ability to transfer ownership, and two, verify ownership.
I have no clue if NFTs are the best way to accomplish that, let alone even a good way, and people much smarter than me can figure that out.
In the end I don’t think it matters. For it to be viable it would require the big companies to adopt it, which I never see them accepting a legal way to do second hand sales of digital goods.

Good! The only reason I am able to have affordable fast internet is due to having 3 real high speed options: google fiber(5gb max), att fiber(2gb max), and spectrum(1gb max). If only one of those existed at my location I would bet I would have worse service at a higher price.
Well, that didn’t take very long at all! As with almost everything, the cloud seems appealing, and then slowly increased in price while the service gets reduced
+1 this. I went further and have a 3 node proxmox cluster with a mix of beelink and minisforum pcs. If I find that I need more cpu power I can add another node to the cluster and drop the weakest link and proxmox handles moving all the vms/lxcs
At $50 a month using cloud services you could buy a very beefy mini pc but that also means you have to manage it. I’d say that it took about a month of setting up everything to get to a point where I only log into proxmox ~1-2 times a month.
