That’s some great news! I’ll try later and report back.

I’ll keep the game on the Win drive as a backup, not taking any chances lol

Thanks for the help!

Game is The Witcher 3, according to ProtonDB people play it through Proton so I guess it doesn’t run natively on Linux

Great, glad to hear that a simple overwrite should be enough! Gonna need some time to download it again on Linux, but I’ll try that later!

access windows drive through linux

Even better, so I can skip moving to the external drive!

Thanks for the help

bec,
@bec@lemmy.ml avatar

mods are compatible with proton

Mhm, what kind of mods aren’t compatible? Some of the ones I have are scripted mods, no idea what kind of scripts though lol

I’ll try running it later and hope those work too.

Thanks!

bec,
@bec@lemmy.ml avatar

Mhm, no idea to be honest if the mods I have do some “hacking” to work. Most of then were a simple drag and drop into the gane folder, although some of them are scripted mods which I don’t really know what it means lol thanks for the help, I’ll try later and keep my fingers crossed

bec,
@bec@lemmy.ml avatar

Don’t worry about it, thanks!

Alright, sounds easy enough overall, I’ll try later! Thanks again for the help

I now know! Since I couldn’t see the Linux drive via Win I assumed it was the same the other way around

Once I finally start to main Linux, I plan on organizing my drives better, especially for the shared drive!

Thanks!

bec,
@bec@lemmy.ml avatar

Thanks for the tip, I’ll keep it in mind for other games as the one I’m currently playing has a dedicated folder for mods in its own folder so I don’t think I need to do as you did. I’ll have to look into how to do that in case I need to in future. Thanks!

bec,
@bec@lemmy.ml avatar

Thanks, I’ll look into it! Appreciate the tip

That doesn’t look like my friend at all lol

This one here looks very much similar to my friend (thin and long body): en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pholcidae

No idea why there’s multiple animals called all the same way though

bec,
@bec@lemmy.ml avatar

Thanks! It’s a bit difficult to wait for them to move out, since, at least for what I can tell, they never leave the web. I always found the spider in the same spot lol right now they’re keeping around the middle, so I could trim the edges of the web without directly touching the spider, if that’s what you meant!

bec,
@bec@lemmy.ml avatar

Appreciate it! I guess, since it’s just a little trim around the edges, there shouldn’t be problems as you said! If they can survive a relocation they can probably live with a little less web! Thanks!

bec,
@bec@lemmy.ml avatar

Just did it, they curled their legs (I guess to keep stability, maybe?) but now they’re back to the previous relaxed state I always see them in. It was really just a small trim, hopefully small enough not to scare them away lol I appreciated their efforts to keep bothersome insects away so far and I wish for a long-lasting mutually beneficial relationship

bec,
@bec@lemmy.ml avatar

Hope you get well soon!

Might also have been a poorly phrased question on my part, since English is not my first language!

bec,
@bec@lemmy.ml avatar

Spider has kept insect populations in check and I’m grateful. Plus, they’re cute

bec,
@bec@lemmy.ml avatar

Yes, the reduced chance of getting prey was the first thing that sprung to mind and I was mainly thinking about how that would mean increased hunger… but the web was getting too large to ignore, so we needed a compromise. Hope the trim won’t affect them too much!

Meaning it’s not going to waste too much energy

That’s good to hear! Thanks for all the info!

bec,
@bec@lemmy.ml avatar

I see, kinda lazy nomenclature, but I guess with all the different kinds of spiders, at some point you run out of names ahah thanks for the info! I hope they stay because they’ve been eating good, and I appreciate the reduced amount of insects

bec,
@bec@lemmy.ml avatar

Wait, I now have to research how they build their webs then, if not by spinning. Thanks for the trivia!

bec,
@bec@lemmy.ml avatar

“Wait, whaat…? That’s amaz-… wait a minute”

bec,
@bec@lemmy.ml avatar

I was about to reach the same conclusion, as I couldn’t find any mentions of alternative ways of spinning webs, so thanks for the confirmation!

bec,
@bec@lemmy.ml avatar

wash your ass

Wow, OK big brother

API limits, need to use a tool that waits 5s between each call otherwise it gets limited and doesn’t actually edit/delete everything!

bec,
@bec@lemmy.ml avatar

How do you find those unedited comments? Anyway, I ran it overnight and it said to have processed all 2k+ comments and I did check many pages (not all) including the last page which had almost 2y old comments, and all of them were edited. I had to make a second pass only because some subs were closed for the blackout and those comments couldn’t be touched

bec,
@bec@lemmy.ml avatar

old.reddit allows you to go further back than that. IIRC there’s a setting about how many links to show, that by default is 25 but you can also choose 100. After that, you go to your comments and manually go back and that should allow you to view much older comments.

So you just search “your username + reddit”? I’d like to check if any comments were left untouched!

bec,
@bec@lemmy.ml avatar

The PowerDeleteSuit fork I used had no problems editing 2y old comments. I did a websearch for my username and chose a custom time for the results, which I set to between one day before I created my account and two weeks later. The oldest comment I found by doing so is from ten days after I created my account, and it is edited like I instructed the script to do. Wasn’t a popular comment either, with just 3 upvotes. I think I’m in the clear!

bec,
@bec@lemmy.ml avatar

Sure, sorry for not linking it earlier. I used this

github.com/pkolyvas/PowerDeleteSuite

bec,
@bec@lemmy.ml avatar

No idea, to be honest! Could it be because I only edited my comments?

bec,
@bec@lemmy.ml avatar

Alright, thanks! I guess I’ll do that, and the other thing you mentioned, so I can edit everything to the last comment just out of spite lol

bec,
@bec@lemmy.ml avatar

I’m just glad I’m here to witness this lol

Anyways, wouldn’t a liquid meal replacement do the trick? Something like Huel?

bec,
@bec@lemmy.ml avatar

Just checked and it says it has 7g fiber per serving. Don’t know if it’s too much, honestly. Jusy thought that since it’s liquid it would be making less waste!

bec, (edited )
@bec@lemmy.ml avatar

Didn’t know lol as I said I assumed that a liquid diet would help, guess I was very wrong lol

edit: maybe there are other similar meal replacements that have not as much fiber? If that’s the only downside. I suggested Huel because I don’t know of any other

Truth is, I challenged OP to this poopless challenge and I was trying to undermine their effort, but don’t snitch on me
