Not saying they are right or wrong, but when you are born in a country you are directly affected by his history, and they are affected by something your grandparents were (?) responsible for. Look at more extreme examples, imagine a person born in the Belgian Congo, knowing all atrocities Belgium did to keep the country a shit, how you would expect this person to look at Belgium as a partner? To nurtur any kind of admiration towards the ppl?

Besides not agreeing I can totally understand the feeling,

Germany was split but received tons is Marshal’s money even being the aggressor, while Poland was stuck in URSS after being traded by Hitler and Stalin and then abandoned by thr allies in the Yalta conference even being the first victim.

How much is enough to repair this kind of damage? How much of their modern failures are actually stupid decisions and how much is historical inheritance?

This is not how democracy works, what you described is just a dictatorship of majority (in this case it is literally the minority). Democracy implies that everyone, minority or majority can express opinions and vote freely in ideas that do not harm specific group liberties.

I accidently rebooted during pacman update and now my system dosen't show option to boot into endeavour os. Systemd just shows option to boot into firmware interface please help!

I’ve lost everything and I don’t know how to get it back. How can I repair my system all I have is a usb with slax linux. I am freaking out because I had a lot of projects on their that I hadn’t pushed to github as well as my configs and rice. Is there any way to repair my system? Can I get a shell from systemd?

This one, I did it recently when my girlfriend uninstalled python that was necessary to run the process of creation the image of your kernel in the efi partition and happened the same thing, the update process removed the old images from efi partition but was not able to copy the new.

It should work, afaik chroot always use the binaries of the system you chrooted, so you will be able to use pacman normally. I don´t remember if chroot will mount the efi partition by default, you can do this before go to chroot (again, I’m have some memory issues but I believe that /dev does not mount as well if you just use chroot, this is why arch have arch-chroot that mounts this kind of stuff but you can mount before so it should work).

Assuming you are using systemd boot on efi partition (that is likelly if you have not changed the installer defaults), what I would do:

  • On your live CD run sudo fdisk -l to get what is the efi partition, usually will be /dev/sdb1 since sda will be your usb, you should be able to see something like that. https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/c8ad1a63-1087-4d90-96cf-173d8afed0ac.png
  • Then you will mount your endevour partition, in your situation should be sudo mount /dev/sdb2 /mnt/mydisk but check your fdisk command output.
  • Now you will have to mount the efi partition sudo mount /dev/sdb1 /mnt/mydisk/efi
  • Then you can use chroot /mnt/mydisk/ and proceed to do a pacman -Syu, this should trigger the post scripts that create the kernel images on the efi partition.

If you are not dealing with a legacy project, windows server is the definition is insanity. Even projects that still use windows server usually use in a VM running on Linux.

There is, unreal besides being a product has its source available and Godot focus on the same niche most of unity games were. But the problem never was the lack of replacement, the problem is, a game with years of development on unity whould not easily switch to any alternative, they have assets from unity store, scripts made for unity, UIs using unity specific stuffs, even network protocols could be bounded with unity. Change this is an herculean task and most of the games are in barely maintenance mode, imagine a full rework. So these games should be pulled of the market and thrown in the garbage to avoid new installations.

This is true for most of software out there, but most of the game industry operates with a small margin, and when you look to games individually, most of the games that are still selling (think about GoG games) are not worth any developer time

I did it with windows 7, and tried to do this with 10 after debloaters came to it. But 1 year ago I had to work with a win 11 machine, after I saw what I would be inevitable using in the future in my machine I decided to do a full switch to Linux. I just can’t, windows were always a decently customizable SO but they are trying to make it a macOS with ads

I played it this year, and it is totally shit, the features that are already in games don’t work. Even comparing with other space games like elite dangerous that are way cheaper and already have a decent and less buggy gameplay loop

I played enough to see an empty city that adds literally nothing to anything, with every single NPC standing still on a chair. I played enough to crash two times interacting with shit to just restart ON MY FUCKING ROOM, why there is a server if it is unable to keep your quest state is beyond my intelligence.

Furthermore, I played enough to see corpses around the abandoned world, adding nothing but noise to my immersion, dumber quests, simpler ship controllers and simpler planetary bases than Elite Dangerous. Also, maybe I didn’t have played enough, but I had no SC player providing me with a decent endgame gameplay loop like ED, I don’t know how a game this old and this expensive can have less endgame than an actual indie game.

Literally the one thing that it is better in SC than ED is the ability to move inside your ship, that is dope but is not worth the cheapest ship or worse, your time. And I’m writing this comments to other ppl, not you Tigris, you are beyond any rational discussion, you probably have spent too much on this game to admit to yourself it is crap. If you truly believe that the game is good you would just talk about what we are missing and not white knighting and gaslighting anyone that disagrees with you.
