The actual quote isn’t as bad as the headline, at least

“No employee ever wakes up and says, ‘I’m so excited. I made another penny a share today for Panera’s shareholders,’” Shaich told Business Insider in an interview. “Nobody cares. You don’t care whether your CEO comes or goes.”

Doesn’t seem like he’s trying to imply you’re supposed to care

If it’s a job that requires high-performance/low-level code (which seems to be the case from the other qualifications), this is probably their way of filtering out people who have primarily worked at a higher level where you don’t need to worry about the nitty-gritty details

not to be That Guy, but the phone is actually correct… multiplication and division have the same precedence, so 8 / 2 * 4 should give the same result as 8 * 4 / 2, ie 16

dude got the rare horizontal butt

How would I get a relative point between a min and max value that could be represented as a float between 0.0 and 1.0?

I have a min and max position of an object and I want to represent an arbitrary point between them as a float between 0.0 and 1.0. This feels relatively basic math, but I can’t quite figure out what I need to do with this. Is there a special name for this sort of thing? Also, are there any built-in methods that would be useful...

I think /u/breadsmasher has your answer, but FWIW, mapping from an arbitrary range onto the range of 0.0 to 1.0 is called normalization

Not sure if there’s a name for the opposite operation
