Senator Vance stated that Ukraine should end the war and give land to Putin.
You can spot all the Putin-owned assets in our government quite easily.
If Russia wins, it will control 27 percent of world grain exports, approaching twice the size of the EU, which in second place collectively exports 16 percent of the world’s grain market. Not a good plan.
If the code of conduct is so meaningless that it allows a situation where a justice receives a $260,000 truck as a gift from a billionaire with business before the court, that's obviously not something that will restore credibility.
If the justices cannot put a meaningful code of conduct in place for themselves, then Congress should.
But we’ll obviously need a different Congess to do that.
If there aren’t 9 Republicans in the Senate who want to put their money where their mouth is and show Tuberville he’s out of his league, they ought to fold up as a party once and for all.
The extreme cruelty and appropriate historical comparisons aside, the mechanisms being proposed for the mass removal of immigrants are functionally a police state that can be easily turned against other groups as the whims of an imperial president change.
Since the New York Times spent last week telling us how strong a chance Trump has, maybe its time to see what a nightmare that he would impose.
People who have participated in local school affairs for years have seen what this right-wing group that is masquerading as “for liberty" is really up to and they're not fooled. And they have seen enough, hence the results we saw Tuesday.
Banning books is not "liberty" in any sense of the word nor is trying to erase the existence of LGBTQ people, Black history, or Jewish history, no matter how many times that group says so.
It's laughable to see Republicans trying to say that they're only in favor of "reasonable restrictions" on abortion, when many have supported a complete ban on abortion for any reason, and have expressed interest in banning even contraception.
The right is getting a lesson about taking away people’s rights. Republicans who’ve pushed this issue for decades can’t hide now.
Ohio has followed many other states; voters are not enamored of Republican politicians policing their uteruses.
Dems need to run hard on freedom to choose in 2024 at every level in every race, despite the fact that a good couple of media pundits keep claiming the power and importance of this issue is winding down or limited. It isn’t. #AbortionRights
Hydrogen is a clean-burning fuel, and when combined with oxygen in a fuel cell — like a battery — it produces heat and electricity with water vapor as its only byproduct.
Called gay people “destructive.”
Compared gay people to pedophiles.
Helped organize anti-gay protests on college campuses.
Fought laws that provided health benefits to same-sex couples.
Perfectly A-OK with every Republican in the House of Representatives.
The GOP is not only not moderate, they’re obvious extremists.
What the media won’t show you this Sunday: President Biden sat down with John Harwood. They covered 17 different issues facing our democracy.
I don’t post many videos. Often, a good 8 hours or so of them pass me in just a single day from those I follow.
This is 20 minutes and vital to what we’re all facing. Nobody else running is confronting these issues. The Republicans running are, of course, making all of them worse.
#OnePersonOneVote could seriously increase turnout for presidential elections in all areas. Democrats in deep red states would have a better motivation to vote for President, same as Republicans in blue strongholds.
@TonyStark Compulsory voting needs to be talked about more seriously, but almost every time I bring it up someone claims it's a violation of free speech and fail to see the obvious (to my eyes) parallel with jury duty.
@Acronymesis@TonyStark It's a vestige of the Constitutional Convention, but it relates to the Civil War in that the Electoral College (and the Senate, and every slave counting as 3/5 of a person for the purpose of assigning seats in the House) was designed to give Southern states disproportionate power, to give them an incentive to ratify the Constitution.
Removing the cap on the amount that high income recipients pay on their SS taxes would go a long way to fix the SS deficit.
Why can’t high income recipients pay SS taxes at the same rate as a percentage of their income as lower wage people? They can, but the GOP doesn’t care about average people. They won’t impose any tax on the rich. #NeverVoteRepublican
The Republican idea for impeachment of Biden is to use the process as an attempt to find wrongdoing, none of which has been indicated to exist, and cast false suspicion on him.
The Democratic idea for impeachment of Trump was based on already existing wrongdoing.
Notice any difference?
Anyway, LMAO. It helps to think things through, GOP.
U.S. voters need to be 100% clear: if we re-elect this man, our democracy is finished. He will turn the weapons of law against his opponents (us), and arrest, try, convict, sentence, imprison and/or execute them. Is this the country you want to live in?
