I played VR and had a blast. It was usually the ones that were mounted to the ceiling at a mall arcades. I could play no big deal for hours. My brother in law got a vr headset for Christmas and I tried to use it and got unbelievably sick after 20 minutes of playing it.
I played super hot, some moving zombie game, and that plank game on thw vr headsets at mall arcades with no problem moving around, twisting, and moving fast. I played a stationary puzzle game on my bil’s. I dont know what causes the sickness but it was veey bad on his unit. I womder if the suspension at the mall arcades made the difference, rather than having a free roaming headset.
Was thinking about this in terms of AI. As we create it we are probably going to put fail safes on it. So it would be reasonable then to assume if we were created the same thing would be programmed in us.
I’ve tried to become more connected with my community by going to activities around Halloween or Christmas time, or just general activities with the people I associate with. I just wish–and I know this is going to sound weird–there were more real people like Lewis the Mayor who organize community events in real life where...
The only way that I think scraping bots are helpful would be for purely archivale purposes. I wish someone would create an Instance that scrapes old Reddit posts and information and posts that information solely on that instance. Scraping new content and posting it here to Lemmy is not even using Lemmy, we’ve just gone back to Reddit at that point.
I don’t think this is a highly controversial opinion. Most people would agree that most of the old systems were better. However, the fanbase has pretty much given in on the comparative quality of the games as a whole. The way legendaries are handled is a symptom of the greater flaws of the lack of soul in the new games.
Hi I’ve been gradually finishing my first and only-main farm, and wanted to share :-) It started as the central plaza and fish ponds (since I came to love fishing!) and grew from there. I was going to get all-seasons screenshots and post together, but that’s going soo slowly; and, hey, content!...
I’ve subscribed to a plethora of communities that really interest me and actually have posts and discussions in them, but I have to go to the specific community to see this. My “Subscribed” feed only contains a few of the same posts that I’ve seen for weeks in Hot, the same posts from even longer ago in “Active”,...
I appreciate the sorting suggestion! I’ll try that. I understand that Lemmy isn’t as big as Reddit, but I swear there are more people than my feed is leading me to believe.
That was my main reason for posting this question, to see if I’m alone in this site with just a bunch of bots posting. All these responses have given me hope!
Your rant post is ill-placed, because I’m trying to do that. I’ve already posted and commented multiple posts in communities I enjoy trying to garner attention and content. But i’m also a busy person who’s trying to live with a family, children, and a budding carreer. I understand I need to be a part of the community and I am doing more now than I ever have on Reddit.
EDIT: I also wanted to add that this post is not about me complaining about a lack of content, it was a misunderstanding of the sorting algorithm. After posting this, I got lots of very helpful advice to help me use Lemmy’s sorting better and my enjoyment of Lemmy has improved immensly to the point of where my experience on Lemmy is no longer lame.
EDIT 2: I must have misread your post because it was not condesending, but more motivating. I appreciate the sentiment and redact the condesending part, but stand by the rest of what I’ve said. I deleted the entire second paragraph because I was defensive and wrong in its entirety. I appreciate the sentiment while affirming I am trying to contribute more while my life is still very busy. I apologize for getting defensive.
I think what your post was getting at was valid, and I promide I will do my best to not be the reason Lemmy has a lack of content, i want to do my best to contribute! I don’t think your intentions were wrong, and hope you continue to advocate for people to contribute.
I think it’s smart on Valve’s part. With how litigation-happy Nintendo is, I don’t think Valve really wants to go to bat for a program that isn’t even their own, and isn’t even needed on Steam anyway.

I really loved all of the MCU content and was extremely satisfied when Thanos was defeated in Endgame. Since then, I have enjoyed watching the movies that tie up the loose ends from Endgame; I.E. Loki, GOTG 2, and the Spidermans. Everything other than that has made me feel like Marvel is struggling for air.

I use an Android, and I wouldn’t necessarily say that Android sms messaging is good software. Most of our sms apps either suck, are mined by corporations for data, or both. Apple isn’t better in those regards, I’m just saying that it isn’t one of Android’s strengths over Apple.
Why YSK: Choosing an instance with defederation policies you’re most comfortable with is important to make your Fediverse experience smooth in the long run....
I really feel like it doesn’t matter what you use as long as it’s part of the Fediverse. If whatever you’ve chosen is federated we all benefit. I feel that ever since Kbin federated there’s way more content even on Lemmy. I’m just glad that we can all see and interact with one another.
If your instance defederates from an instance, or you are defederated from an instance you enjoy, you can always move to a new account. Unlike Reddit, you don’t have Karma to link you to your account so you can just move over to a different instance (although subscribing to all of your favorite communities again is a pain in the ass)
Some people might find the answer to be obvious (yes) but I’ve rarely found it so. In fact, this is a question I often find in the linux community (regarding linux going mainstream, not lemmy) and people are pretty split upon it....
I think that the more people that move to the Fediverse the better. As it gets popular Lemmy will be more and more populated with instances that can be curated to the user’s wants. Don’t like how one instance is running things? Move to another. Don’t like how one community does things? Move to another. The more popular Lemmy is, the more options Users will have.
I don’t understand that. If you don’t like corporations joining the fediverse then just join an instance that is defederated from them or better yet just block them. Corporations are going to join the fediverse and that’s ok because one of the major parts of the fediverse is you can choose to affiliate with corporations or not, you’re not subject to them.

I feel like it just creates a potemkin village where we have communities filled with content that nobody interacts with or cares about.
