I don’t know who this guy was and I’m not American, but I dissaprove of people vandalizing or destroying old statues. They should be removed from public view if they’re controversial, but they should be kept (if they have historical significance). Destruction of history, no matter how dark it was, is a crime in my eyes. Nobody would think about destroying concentration camps or the likes, even though they represent the most horrific part of our history. And besides, pretty much everyone born more than two centuries ago were assholes and bigots by today’s standard, it’s hard to judge when most of them probably did not know better. Again, not cautioning what this dude did, probably slavery and a great deal of killing I imagine.

I worked as a software dev, I had an intern to supervise. Everything was going well until he somehow got behind my back, tried some stuff on his own, and wiped out the whole database. Luckily we had backups, but I had to scramble to get it back and running as fast and possible, as I received dozens of calls or complaints almost instantly. For some reason, I was not allowed to modify permissions and accounts, and both me and the intern had superadmin privileges.
Probably one of the greatest games of all times, i’m always amazed at the sheer amount of possibilities. I did a throwing-focused character last time, stripping car batteries for that sweet sweet acid, making molotov cocktails with gasoline and homemade grenades with commercial fertilizer. Next time maybe I’ll do a pirate living in a lighthouse, strapping cannons and guns to a boat. The vehicule building is out of this world, so much fun…
I think there’s a place for both AI images and artists, there’s no need to be tribalistic for this. I used AI to generate some albums covers for my personal playlists, but I won’t print out AI art and put it on my wall or anything. But this whole story got me interested in making commissions, since I’ve never done it before, and I think a piece of art can be a wonderful gift for someone.
Yeah I wouldn’t mind it, but it’s only for a very niche use, just to appease my OCD. I can’t actually see the cover art clearly, the screen is goddamn small on my mp3 player. So paying would be overkill for this.

The high temperature combined with humidity has made it impossible for most people to carry out their normal lives. There's already reports of power outages. People can't work. They can't run errands. They can barely sleep....
What do you propose then? Make European countries accoutable for mistakes made 200 years ago? Even though most of them are doing really well to transition into green energy? What would that accomplish, exactly?
You should take it upon yourself to make regular backups in case you fuck up really bad. I had an intern that deleted everything on its fifth day, luckily l was automatically making backups two times a day, so it was fine.
Company was a shitshow, new features or changes were expected immediately, so we got used to work directly on prod. I told him to test anything on a dummy DB and show me before we submit it, but he got around it when I wasn’t looking. The security tools were garbage, I wasn’t allowed to change permissions.

One of the main advantages of RSS is that it doesn’t track you or require an account for it to work. As you said it’s only a XML or JSON file wth the latest items posted on the website.
Crazy idea : let’s use churches to accommodate homeless people since you can find them fucking everywhere, surely they’re not used after 8pm, and that’s basically the point of them in the first place, no?

That makes a bit more sense if that’s a culture thing, but how do you define someone who belong in that culture? Is a black person born from a very wealthy European family still allowed to say it, even though he might have nothing to do with the culture? It just seems weird to me how you clearly define this, I mean even clearly defining what a black person is, is pretty much impossible.
That’s fair, my only issue is clearly determining what makes someone a member of the group. I guess for LGBT it’s more clearly defined, but it becomes a lot harder to determine if you’re from X ethnicity or if you belong to Y culture (or I guess the hard part is to make people accept you in their club…)
It’s amazing how little I trust announcements like this now. I have been burned so many times by empty promises from game developers that I can’t feel hyped anymore.

I’ve heard Israeli call Hamas Nazis, Russians call Ukrainians Nazis, Ukrainians call Russians Nazis, random political figures calling other equally random political figures Nazis… Now I’m sure it’s sometimes called for, as you said, neo-nazism, for whatever reason, is a thing. I feel like it’s the same crap as calling any idea a tad on the left “commie” or “tankie”. It’s not a valid criticism to put everything under a blanket term, I would much prefer that people put reasoned arguments before irrational name-calling. But sadly politics is all about appeal to emotion, isn’t it? I feel deeply ashamed when I watch political “debates” in my country.
