@abff08f4813c so "ex-FAANG" managers coming in for their CIA sabotage manual any% runs isn't just happening at discord?

makes sense to me

@various_characters as far as I can see, the links are going to the original site (worldtracker[.]org), which is now redirecting to some sketchy website...

CTA: Create a thriving Fediverse without relying on Reddit (kbin.social)

The Fediverse must be very careful to avoid getting branded as the "alternative to X". In my experience, platforms that have historically branded themselves as "alternative to" or "anti-" have generally not done well. Learned this from the last Reddit exodus: let's make this one different!...

Rairii,
@Rairii@haqueers.com avatar

@Hatchet i mean, this one is technically already different

i can comment from mastodon

you couldn't do that with the other "alternatives"

activitypub is great

Yeah, that's gonna be a hard pass from me thanks, Rachel.

Zero interest in having a conversation with "off the record" or otherwise.

body:

Hello,

You may have heard of P92. I am reaching out because Instagram is interested to host a roundtable on June 27th, from 11:15am - 12:00pm PT with Mastodon server admins to seek feedback and guidance. This conversation will be off the record, as the team may discuss confidential details that should not be shared with others.

Let me know if you are interested to join, and I can send you the meetibg details.

Thank you,
Rachel

reply, sent 2023-06-23 09:36:40 (+0100):

Hi Rachel,

Thanks for the email. Meta's moral compass and my own are far from aligned, so I really don't see how this could be a productive conversation. With that in mind, I'm going to pass on this offer.

If you want my feedback/guidance, I'm happy to provide it here - your primary motivation for P92 should be to connect people, not to make money by forfeiting their privacy for ad revenue. We both know that's very unlikely to happen though. There you have it, that's my feedback, so no need for a conversation now. :)

Kind regards,

@fediverse @fediverse Test post to MULTIPLE groups from mastodon, please ignore

I already tested posting to one group and (with a slight issue with replies) it seems to work fine. Now I'm interested to know what happens if I try to post to MULTIPLE groups at the same time, what happens then?

How do we get an instance removed? (kbin.social)

It looks like a new spamming tactic will be to set up your own instance and then just mass spam to other instances from there. Case in point, vive.im I've been noticing spam in one magazine from a user of this. I banned them, but they can still post for some reason. Decided to visit the instance and it looks like some default...

@crossmr thanks for this post, this server has been involved in spam for almost two months so I alerted the microblog side of fedi

I noticed [email protected] was followed by two kbin.social users, and kbin has an "interesting" feature where a microblog post goes into the magazine named after its first hashtag (if it exists), hence why your subs are getting them

i think the two kbin.social users might have followed this user by mistake. i checked their profiles and they both look legitimate to me.
