Billet Labs sent them a 3090ti to test with and LMG lost it before they filmed the review. They comment on the GPU being wrong in the video. .
BL also commented on the video explaining why it would perform poorly with the 4090.
Someone at LMG agreed to send it back before they sold it at auction. Then that didn’t happen and there was no apology or attempt to make it right until the GN video came out.
Worth noting that the “69… Nice” joke is not just a universal meme, but also specially part of LTT in-jokes. So it’s very much in character for Linus or others at LMG to say something like that, but I am honestly disappointed that it came from Luke.
Kansas state patrol needs to step in and take over this situation, hopefully ending with the prosecution of the police chief for abuse of power and manslaughter. If they don’t act soon, the FBI needs to investigate both organizations.
A California Superior Court judge arrested last week has now been charged with killing his wife in front of their adult son at their home. Court filings reveal the judge had over 47 weapons and 26,000 rounds of ammunition in his home.
The previous comment did most of the work for you. Writers, actors, crew, and generally everyone involved in the entertainment industry does not have a salary gig like office workers. They aren’t working consistently–which has only gotten worse in the streaming era–and thus rely on royalties as part of their total compensation.
So, in summary, they are completely different situations that cannot be directly compared.
I just genuinely don’t know if writers thought that they should be getting more. And if so, why?
What do you mean by “more”, and relative to what? The main complaint from writers are that in recent years the trend has been them all getting paid significantly less. Not just a few percentage points, more like 1-10% of what they used to get.
So, they want to get paid the same as they used to, which is more than currently but not “more” when looked at from a longer time frame.
The company where I work did a bunch of surveys and shared the data with everyone throughout 2020 and 2021. They were completely anonymous and done in a browser in about 5 minutes. Opinion shifted back and forth over time, but the general consensus is that some kind of mix was preferred. We now have that mix and most people are still happily employed.
I still end up spending most of my in-office days on Zoom, but that’s OK. I am also part of a small team in a 200 person company and really appreciate being around other people outside my team occasionally.
Pretending there is universal agreement in either direction is silly.
In an unprecedented raid Friday, local law enforcement seized computers, cellphones and reporting materials from the Marion County Record office, the newspaper's reporters, and the publisher's home.
Do you believe the current version of policing in America can be successfully reformed? Can the current officers be sufficiently re-trained? Who is going to patrol the streets until that happens?
When people say abolish the police, they are saying that the current system has to be entirely dismantled and replaced. You actually appear to agree with the end objective.
Judge Lewis A. Kaplan ordered the former billionaire remanded after prosecutors pushed to have his bail revoked, citing violations that included Bankman-Fried’s admitted usage of VPN software that he said was to watch an NFL game and the judge’s view that he had attempted to tamper with witnesses “at least twice.”
I see your point, but SBF is still a great example of the inequalities of the justice system quite well. Not just because of this incident, but specifically because he is getting the book thrown at him.
SBF is the 2023 version of Ken Lay–he is being made an example because he stole from other rich people.
Kim isn’t crazy. He was raised from birth believing he is the divine ruler of a people and received a modern education. He is acting in the best interests of the state he leads. It just happens that most of us on this platform likely live in a part of the world where those interests don’t make sense or are hard to see or just don’t seem important. But that’s an “us” problem.
His public persona in the West is a combination of propaganda from multiple angles, much like we see around Russia and China, too.
I’m not saying that he is a good leader or has the health of North Koreans in mind, but be aware that not everything you hear about living in North Korea is necessarily accurate (and not necessarily due to outside actors, either).

Going to? They have always been here, but like the rise of TERFs or Cubans in Florida, now that a lot of the LGBTQ spectrum has gotten some progress–enough that the T part of that list is being addressed–some people are gonna play the “got mine, fuck you” game.
It’s a good reminder that even people who agree with 99% of what you do can still be assholes somewhere deep down in their cold hearts.
It’s always so eye-opening to read about a larger-than-life personality like Brady considering themselves an introvert and being bullied in school. I am glad he got to a point where he is happy and can share his story.
When I first started this show I found it to be a really awkward mix of comedy and seriousness. It had some jokes thrown it at the most inopportune times as some kind of comic relief from a really serious situation. Perhaps the first half of the first season was actually a bit rough or maybe the show just grew on me, but by...
The vibe I get is he wanted to make a Star Trek show, but since he’s that comedy guy he probably got it greenlit as a comedy and then just slowly morphed into just Star Trek while the producers weren’t looking.
This is actual reality, so you nailed it. Seth approached Paramount with a pitch for a nostalgic reboot of the TNG era, they said no, so he went to Fox who he had a great relationship with due to Family Guy and created The Orville.
Whether the producers were unaware of the slow transition to actual speculative fiction or not is unclear for the first few seasons. I think the final season shows that it was overt, however, since after changing networks the whole tone, production quality, and even the actual time length of the episodes all changed.
Reality is often stranger than fiction. This is the kind of story that would need to be toned down to be believable if it was turned into a TV series or movie.
Justice Elena Kagan declined Thursday to outright answer the question of whether Congress could impose an ethics code on the Supreme Court, but she did allow that it could do “various things” to regulate the high court....
Packing the court to a few dozen and having the justices rotate randomly would do a lot to prevent corruption. Nobody would know which justices are going to hear their case and there would be more justices to bribe. Do both of those together and we’re most of the way to restoring the court’s legitimacy.
In a 5-2 ruling Tuesday morning, the state’s highest court overturned a ruling by a Kankakee County judge that the law ending cash bail was unconstitutional. The end to cash bail will now go into effect across the entire state on Sept. 18, according to the Illinois Supreme Court ruling.

Sorry, but whether we like it or not, the guy is still the leading GOP candidate for President and de-facto leader of the party. What he says could influence the nation’s future. So yeah, it is newsworthy.
