Pyro,

Everything is a godsend, I install it on every Windows machine I use. But it always makes me wonder why Microsoft doesn’t integrate such search features in their own OS.

Pyro,

WinDirStat is good, but it’s really slow compared to its alternatives.

Pyro,

Are you insinuating that cats don’t like / love their owners?

Pyro,

Wow, all I can see is *******, it really works!

Spam calls and texts are driving me fing crazy anyone have suggestions?

After repeated data breaches that no company really seems to give a s— about my phone is blowing up with literally hundreds of spam calls and texts month. I get and make MAAAAYBE 2 or 3 important calls per month, 180-200 of the rest are literally all spam. Anyone have any suggestions, apps ect that they have found refuge with?...

Pyro,

I have a Pixel 5a too and the call screening option is a godsend.

Pyro,

If only our lives weren’t bound by work…

Pyro,

I just bought it (this past weekend) and I’m really loving it so far!

Pyro,

I love posts like these because they help me avoid mistakes I would’ve definitely made too. Thanks OP!

Pyro,

My Reddit account was 12 years old. I’m staying on Lemmy forever, monthly active users be damned.

Pyro,

Other than the better discussion and nicer people that other commenters already mentioned, I’ve also seen a lot less of the same boring memey replies that permeate every post on Reddit now.

Pyro,

Those replies have their place when used infrequently, the repetition is when it gets annoying. Also, with subreddits hitting millions of users, it just becomes a feedback loop when those replies keep getting thousands of upvotes, and other people start parroting it.

Don’t beat yourself up though, a lot of times you just grow out of it.

Pyro,

Even worse, DBMS shudder

Pyro,

I know, right! The “Remember Me” option does absolutely nothing ffs

Pyro,

If you really want to make Skyrim playable on an HD Graphics card, you might have to go lower than even the low settings (like by editing config files, for example).

Many people have made recommendations on what to change in videos and posts, you should look them up. IIRC there was even a mod for low-spec Skyrim.

Pyro,

I genuinely thought it wasn’t English for a bit.

Pyro,

Mathematicians can have a lil doubt, as a treat

Pyro,

The performance is pretty on-par with other major browsers now, but it is the obscene amount of popups built into the browser that irritates me.

Pyro,

You hit the nail right on its head! It’s pretty bad that there is no skip all option, and for some of them you have to manually uncheck before continuing.

I’m in the same situation as you where I often work on fresh virtual machines, and so I see this a lot too.

Pyro,

The Pixel experience being stock Android without any bloatware appeals to me.

I’ve also always rooted all of my Android devices, and the Pixel has been one of the easiest to do so, though this advantage would only be relevant to a small minority of users.

Pyro,

Isn’t Android just Linux under the hood? You are free to brick your device with root access.

Pyro,

I used to write on Medium before, but I switched to dev.to because it was more friendly to readers.

Pyro,

I came across a similar pricing model for Prodigy, and it does seem like a sensible option. You pay for updates, but will always be able to use the versions you already have in perpetuity.

Pyro,

Hasn’t this been the case for a looong time?

Pyro,

The API is bad, I get it. But the author also seems a little too aggressive with the “my way is the best way” attitude.
