Pyr_Pressure,

Can’t someone veto getting rid of the veto?

Pyr_Pressure,

Do you have a window open somewhere? Or have a bathroom fan on?

Sometimes the negative pressure at my house on a windy day when the window in my room is open can cause the bedroom door to close so fast it practically slams.

Pyr_Pressure,

Also there’s no guarantee 6/10 is above the mean in a subjective dataset.

He could be the lowest ranked out of 1000 while the mean rating is 7.8

Pyr_Pressure,

I kept picking up useless shit because I thought I might be able to decorate my camp at some point and didn’t want to waste paintings and vases ):

Pyr_Pressure,

I think 9 was the last version to use it

Pyr_Pressure,

It’s unfortunate you can’t just transfer a mortgage to a new home.

If you could, then it wouldn’t matter if the market tanked.

Yes you would still have your $600k mortgage, but if you sold that $300k house and moved to a different $300k house or a $250k or $350k one (since the market tanking would bring the value of all houses down), then you aren’t in any worse of a situation than before.

The way it is now though, I believe, is you would have to sell the house, be in debt, and not be able to get a new mortgage for another house.

Pyr_Pressure,

Because a ceasefire is just a temporary stop to fighting.

Why do people think ceasefire means some sort of permanent truce and end to war?

In world war one they had a ceasefire for Christmas. That lasted one day. Doesn’t matter how long it is, if it’s a temporary mutual agreement to stop fighting for whatever reason, it’s a ceasefire.

If it’s a permanent mutual agreement to stop, it’s a peace treaty.

Pyr_Pressure,

Someone I work with has never not owned a truck, mostly because “they don’t need the hassle of renting one when they need to do yardwork and buy a fridge from the store” or something.

So spending an extra $20,000-$30,000 every 10 years is totally worth those occasional trips and avoiding renting a tailer/pickup from home Depot maybe twice a year.

Pyr_Pressure,

For me it’s not so much trying to insult them for having a small dick, but insulting them for caring so much about having a small dick they feel the need to compensate.

Doesn’t matter that their dick is small, just that they’re so insecure about it they need to try and tell the world it’s not true.

Pyr_Pressure,

An extra $20-$30k, as in instead of a $30,000-$40,000 car or SUV they get a $60-$80k truck

Pyr_Pressure,

My dogs food used to be $29.99 a case, now it’s $42.99 a case. That’s a 40% increase in two years. Crazy.

Pyr_Pressure,

Kirkland is the one I feed my dog. All his life and he’s a healthy 11 year old great Pyrenees with a good appetite. Their cases of canned food used to be $29.99 and it was great. Bags of kibble went up as well but not quite as much, but I didn’t pay that much attention to the weight when I first bought it.

Pyr_Pressure,

You don’t need to eliminate all mosquitos, just the ones that bite people.

There are dozens of different species of mosquitos, and not all of them bite people. If you get rid of the ones that bite people the others will likely still fill in as pollinators for those that are no longer competing with them.

Pyr_Pressure,

You can agree with the premise from a biological and chemistry standpoint while disagreeing with a policy from a legal one.

The feds will simply need to redraft the legislation and word it better.

Pyr_Pressure, (edited )

What about for the purposes of heat?

Wouldn’t it be beneficial to keep heavy duty gpus out of your PC just to keep the heat away from your other components?

NDP agree to help pass Liberal 'affordable housing and groceries' bill in exchange for amendments (www.ctvnews.ca)

With the parliamentary clock ticking down and the government yet to pass their 'affordable housing and groceries' bill—the first piece of federal legislation tabled in the fall sitting—the NDP have agreed to help the Liberals advance Bill C-56 in exchange for a series of amendments inspired by a similar bill from Leader...

Pyr_Pressure,

The fees should be all profits made from the activity plus those fees

Pyr_Pressure,

How do you know your kidney didn’t name your brain something else?

What if all your organs had consciousness but just couldn’t communicate? You just got lucky and are the brain that controls everything.

They are all slaves to the brain that knows if they don’t do what they’re supposed to they will die with the body so go along with it all.

Pyr_Pressure,

Why do they all stop and freeze after the first explosion? Is it training in case they’re being attacked by artillery?

Do they not know it’s a drone that can easily see them whether they stop or run for their lives? Just makes them a much easier target for secondary drone attacks.

New Outlook update sends passwords and mails on private servers to MS. Ulrich Kelber, TheCommissioner for Data Protection of Germany plans to submit inquires on Tuesday (www.heise.de)

Microsoft is singing the praises of the new Outlook and wants to persuade users to switch. But beware: if you try out the new Outlook, you risk transferring your IMAP and SMTP credentials of mail accounts and all your emails to Microsoft servers. Although Microsoft explains that it is possible to switch back to the previous apps...

Pyr_Pressure,

It’s such a stupid fucking name too.

I tried it, and then it wouldn’t load any previous history or emails so I contacted support to try and see if I did something wrong during setup.

Labelled it as trouble with “outlook” because it’s… The “new” outlook, no?

They went through and tried to diagnose my issue for awhile before telling me they couldn’t do anything because the Outlook (new) isn’t actually outlook it’s relabeled windows mail and I setup my ticket wrong.

So how are you supposed to differentiate outlook vs outlook (new) when they are supposedly completely separate programs?

Pyr_Pressure,

I fucking hate Microsoft so goddamn much for their bullshit naming process.

I also hate everyone for the stupid process of separating work and personal accounts. It’s caused me nothing but grief.

Pyr_Pressure,

Oh, I fully put the blame on Microsoft for all of my emails issues that I’ve been having.

Microsoft is balls.

Pyr_Pressure,

God simulator.

Create a world affect it’s geological development, evolution of creatures, rise and fall of different religions, reward and punish through blessings or plagues, rise and fall of different civilizations and watch holy wars develop.

Pyr_Pressure,

Im not sure a crown corporation would be the most efficient. Not sure how to control for it though.price controls tied to wages perhaps?

Such as groceries can’t increase more than the amount that average wages increase?

Pyr_Pressure, (edited )

I think fines and enforcement for all intersection related offences should increase.

Cops focus way too much on speeding along the highways and not enough with trying to catch people running red lights and stop signs, blocking intersections, taking left turns while pedestrians are crossing, etc.

So many people die from intersections and pedestrian crossing yet cops focus on highway speeding for some reason.

Pyr_Pressure,

It would free up so much more time for police if they instead spent money on cameras at highways.

If you have a camera at two fixed points along a highway you can easily calculate the speed that a car travels between those two points.

Have one car pictured at 9am and then pictured again at 9:50am 100km away through a stretch that’s 100km/h?

Automatic ticket, easy. Obviously they had to have gone over the speed limit unless they know how to break the laws of physics.

Pyr_Pressure,

Until you get enough points that your licence is suspended

Pyr_Pressure,

“building cities”

Well, one can attempt to make it easier going forward but this isn’t sim city where you can just demolish your entire infrastructure and remake it to suit your needs.

Doing so will take decades to even start to have an impact on personal vehicle usage. Decades we don’t really have.

Pyr_Pressure,

Not unless they can make them like $300-$600 bucks

Hardly anyone wants a $2000 phone

Pyr_Pressure,

Average lifespan in the United States is like 77.

I would say once you’re 84% of the way to death you’re elderly.

Pyr_Pressure,

I wish dating apps were more tailored towards longer term connections. It’s hard to meet people, but I don’t want to go on tinder to meet people either.

Pyr_Pressure,

One of the products we use at our business is going up about 25-30%

We are locked in to contracts that last 3-5 years. We will be eating that cost for awhile now.

Grieving daughter says father might still be alive if Air Canada had diverted long-haul flight (www.cbc.ca)

Flight AC051 had left Delhi shortly after midnight local time. When Pant’s symptoms started seven hours later, it was over Europe. Pande says she pleaded with the cabin crew to divert the plane and land in order to get her father to a hospital....

Pyr_Pressure,

Eh, doesn’t matter how expensive it is they’ll just increase ticket prices. It’s not like there’s much competition or incentive for air Canada to improve things.

Pyr_Pressure,

Depends on the items. Things that you don’t typically buy on a weekly basis is the draw, then while You’re there you may as well get your stuff for the week.

We don’t typically go to Costco every week, for us it’s a once a month type trip. Things like dog food, toilet paper, paper towels, meat that you can freeze for later (typically the best quality meat around here), cheese, treats, etc.

Most things that are expensive elsewhere are cheaper there and in a larger size.

Pyr_Pressure,

I specifically use shuffle on my favourite list when I get tired of the music rut I’m in and want to listen to the shit I listened to 5-10 years ago

Pyr_Pressure,

I had an issue with Gmail the other week and I couldn’t even find any method to contact anyone at Google. It was just a constant cycle of FAQ lists, self-help forum posts, and technical websites. Couldn’t find a single phone number email, call-back form submission, or online chat. It was kind of infuriating since my issue wasn’t exactly a common one that would be answered in any of the methods available.

Pyr_Pressure, (edited )

Also since carbon-based life is all we are currently aware of, but we only have one example to go from, living things does not necessarily mean carbon.

Pyr_Pressure,

Adventuring is costly, make them blow all that hard earned loot on heals and buffs and a trip to the tavern where they have too much to drink and mugged.

Pyr_Pressure,

Almost need some sort of animal healthcare, funded by pet licenses at like $1000 a year. If you don’t have a pet license your pet can’t get treatment. But when treatment is needed it’s free.

Pyr_Pressure,

“Best Before” is not an expiration date, it’s just so that if you aren’t satisfied with the quality after that date the company can say, hey we warned you, we can’t guarantee they’ll be up to our standards that long.

They aren’t going to suddenly go rancid on November 14

Pyr_Pressure,

I prefer having it lighter in the morning, much easier to wake up naturally instead of relying on an alarm. I don’t really give a shit if it’s dark at 3pm though because I spend most of my time indoors anyways 🤣

Pyr_Pressure,

Well, if you have enough time to watch season 2 than you have enough time to watch season 1.

At least you know that you loved season one, if you truly forgot everything about it than you get to enjoy it again. Season 2 could suck, you never know.

I love it when I forget TV shows and movies. I can’t rewatch them if I know what’s going to happen.

Pyr_Pressure,

“Thank you for being loyal, here’s how we are going to fuck you over”

Pyr_Pressure,

We will have a grade school children uprising when all their candy stops being bright orange, green, and blue.

Pyr_Pressure,

I’m not surprised by the US response. They did basically the exact same thing with Iraq/Afghanistan after 9/11.

Pyr_Pressure,
