MrScottyTay,

Who the fuck pays for more than one at a time anyway, I don’t mind fragmentation because I have no loyalty to one service and will move to one to watch it’s stuff, then move when i get bored of what it has to offer. Competition is always good. We shouldn’t have monopolies in any industry, including streaming

MrScottyTay,

Back when i used to have fast food, I liked BK over McD because i preferred their fries and i liked their jalapeño poppers.

MrScottyTay,

McD fries are too soft and when they get cold they are absolute garbage. They almost seem soggy, without getting wet. BK have a crunch to them. At least this is the case in the UK.

MrScottyTay,

Square do currently make the best mmo, but that’s not the team that worked on avengers, not even in the same continent. Plus avengers was not meant to be an mmo but a live service like destiny. I will not cry when they eventually disappear.

MrScottyTay,

I’m sure that still works with aliases. Then you’ll have dl/source and Doenloads/source that are the same location. Using aliases will mean any script or program you may use that might point to them won’t just create a new default folder that is then no longer the same location as the renamed one that you’ll expect everything in

MrScottyTay,

Oh, yeah i think i also confused them with symlinks, you could use them?

MrScottyTay,

That’s fair

England is the biggest country in Britain

Britain is the island with England, Scotland and Wales on it

Great Britain then also includes the entirety of Ireland, “standard” and Northern.

The UK is governmental grouping of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, as they share the same parliament. To a certain extent each country has their own government too (except for England as it just uses the UK’s government in London). An example of how they are their own countries and not just States of the one country would be like how the EU is, except if Belgium also used the main EU parliament also as their own.

Edit: most of this is wrong, I think specifically the Ireland stuff, my bad.

MrScottyTay,

Sorry, I’m open for correction, didn’t mean any harm. I genuinely thought what I said was right at the time of writing (only just woke up). I now realise it’s wrong but now I don’t know what is definitely right.

MrScottyTay,

I was mostly wrong, don’t take any notice of what I said

MrScottyTay,

Oh shit yeah, just realised, there’s a reason they say UK and NI. Fucking huge face palm moment. My bad to anyone I may have stepped on toes of.

MrScottyTay,

Thanks for the correction

MrScottyTay,

Sadly though, at the moment it’s very unlikely any other opposition could beat the Tories. Tory supporters are often stubborn so are unlikely to sway. So the best chance is anti tories have is to go for the lesser of the two evils this time around and vote labour just to get them the fuck out. Then we can hope for bigger change afterwards.

MrScottyTay,

Games shouldn’t require mods to make them good

MrScottyTay,

They do rhyme though, at least in my accent

MrScottyTay,

They do, you should always use one of the other methods to close up the bag, then put it in the bin

MrScottyTay,

I really wanted at least 2 player splitscreen to work on both mcc and infinite on pc, I’d love to play it with my girlfriend but it’s dumb if she has to not only buy the game again and play on a tiny screen next to me while i play on the big screen (i use my pc a HTPC in a gaming room, more like a console than a PC)

MrScottyTay,

Infinite and MCC definitely do not have split screen on PC. Only on console. Although I’d love to be corrected on this.

MrScottyTay,

I’m guessing this isn’t the UK, cause anywhere that sells alcohol is required by law to be able to supply free tap water

MrScottyTay, (edited )

As the series goes on I prefer them more and more till you get to Underground, Im not the biggest fan of Underground 2 but I like American Wasteland just as much as Underground 1. After that I fell off due to preferring Skate.

4 is my favourite of the pro skaters, if you don’t count the new 1+2.

MrScottyTay,

I just have one or two at any given time. At the moment I just have Disney+ (which over in the UK is more than enough cause we get the hulu/fox stuff) and Amazon because I pay for prime.

When Scott pilgrim comes out, we’ll either cancel Disney+ while we get Netflix for that, or just get Netflix for a month without renewal.

MrScottyTay,

Are you referring to FF7 remake’s? Because you definitely get more out of it if you’ve played the previous games and watched the movie since it’s quite literally a sequel to them. I really enjoy their approach to it.

I’m not saying RE4’s isn’t the case either. I just don’t think it’s a one or the other kind of scenario and they’re a little different as to why as well.

MrScottyTay,

Pre-picking seats isn’t annoying. You actually get your seats then, and if somebody’s sat in them, you have discourse to get them out of them.

I have a generous sized TV and Atmos at home, but I still find myself going to the cinema at least once a week, someone 3 times a week depending on the release schedule. My cinema is even a shitty one with some screens having a bit shit audio (no longer as bad as it used to be though), but I still find myself going weekly. There’s just something about the cinema, along with seeing them during release times that can’t be replicated at home.

Then again, I’m also the kind of person who just doesn’t like to binge anymore, it’s too much in one go. And with the cinema I have a card that allows me to only part the price of about 2 tickets a month to then see as many films I want in that month that I keep on subscription. It’s much better than any streaming service option in my opinion. And occasionally when I’m out of town I can also see a new film or one I’ve previously seen in a better cinema than my own line in IMAX or something.

I’d be very sad for cinema to die out, moreso because I don’t want to just consume everything on my couch. That feels like a lonely life to me.

MrScottyTay,

What’s any of this got to do with not liking vaping?

MrScottyTay, (edited )

At its most basic it’s water vapour. You know the one thing you’re not supposed to get in your lungs… water. And you can’t exactly trust what certain research shows, it’s too early in the lifespan of vaping to truly know it’s ramifications. Cigarettes used to have research having then saying they were good for you.

At the end of the day though, what’s the fucking point of vaping other than to be another addictive substance for those on the bottom to be beholden to, like an addict tax keeping their take home income as low as possible. It’s just not something the world needs, so why defend it? Have you got the addict equivalent of buyers bias or something?

Edit: okay I’ll concede on the water vapour thing. Still don’t want chemicals in my lungs past that though.

Also to say something else on vapes… I’m fine with it being a stepping stone to get people off cigarettes. The only issue with that is that it’s much more accessible to puff on a vape at any point in the day (as long as it has charge) too the point where someone might actually end up using it way more and at a more concentrated level than what they’d do with cigarettes. It’s not great.

MrScottyTay,

Yeah waiting in queues and walking behind people that value is fucking awful. Especially when they’re trying to cosplay as Thomas the tank engine.

MrScottyTay,

British prime minister

MrScottyTay,

You could say its harder to quit cigs because it’s more publicly available though.

MrScottyTay,

He got caught up in a scandal, finally, then we got liz truss for a few weeks that caused an economic and energy crisis. A head of lettuce lasted longer than her. Then rishi took over from her.

The New 8bitdo Retro Keyboard shipped early. Small-ish Male Hand for scale. (midwest.social)

I can try to answer any questions, but it doesn’t seem like the 8bitdo Ultimate software is availible for download yet. Im not big into mechanical keyboards, this is actually my first, so I don’t have much direct comparison experience to other keyboards....

MrScottyTay,

That’s the real kicker. Ain’t gonna see me using the shitty ANSI enter, and the lack of a backwards slash between the shift and Z key

MrScottyTay,

I really wish there was still a market for new modern CRTs I’d have loved to have seen how that technology would’ve matured further

MrScottyTay,

I’m still on the generation prior to the ones that can benefit from DLSS

MrScottyTay,

I was born in 94 and I remember 9/11. I remember the turn of the millennium cause I remember finding it hard to write 2000 instead of 199X in my school book, but I don’t think I was aware of Y2K

MrScottyTay,

I was born 94, vividly remember 9/11 on the news and being annoyed no cartoons were on. I remember the turn of the millennium but not specifically about Y2K

MrScottyTay,

I’m from the UK so it actually happened more in the afternoon. The one thing I don’t remember is if it was after I finished school normally or if we were sent home earlier. I think it was the former though

MrScottyTay,

It’s almost like I was only 7, shock horror

MrScottyTay,

I mean I understood it somewhat, but I also didn’t want it to be the only thing consuming my afternoon. It was very depressing and I was only 7. Of course I didn’t want to just dwell on that all afternoon. I was also at my nanas at the time so there was nothing else i food do but watch tv till my mam came home from work. So i had nothing else to distract me. But yeah you are right I didn’t fully grasp the gravity of the situation at the time. I think watching it through the tv allowed me that kind of separation. Obviously as time went on, those memories got skewed as i understood more of what actually happened, but I still remember that moment of when I went to my namas bedroom tv in hopes of finding a different channel that might be showing something different. I didn’t.

MrScottyTay,

It almost definitely is material you. Go to “wallpaper and style” in the settings and you should be able to change ui colours. Either to a different colour from your wallpaper, or a varied set of predetermined colours.

MrScottyTay,

That just sounds weird to me

MrScottyTay,

Yeah, definitely. I think this is more of a UK vs US thing. I’m from the UK so it sounds much more normal for a headline

MrScottyTay,

Ps5s next model is reportedly going the external disc drive route

MrScottyTay,

Think like Nintendo’s HD rumble. There’s certain patterns it can do that make it sound like… sound. In Golf Story for example, the hits with the club, with the hd rumble on, you can perfectly hear the skins of hitting a club even with the audio of the game down. It’s strange and great at the same time. The steam controller also used it for those turn on, turn off jingles you could have on, they also sound great.

MrScottyTay,

I have Facebook, but rarely ever use it, but it stays there in case it’s someone’s first port of call to contact me that may not have any other means to do so.

MrScottyTay,

Terrorists often think they’re the good guys and doing it for a higher cause.

MrScottyTay,

I think he meant as the kind of games and Devs that use both tools. They broadly fit the same niche

MrScottyTay, (edited )

Yeah people should do what they are in control of whilst advocating for the big companies to do stuff. Don’t just sit around and wait.

MrScottyTay,

They don’t even need an instance to get they can just scrape it, like anyone can with public info. They wouldn’t even need to make an account for the scraper.
