But what kind of ripple can a Boulder make? What about a bunch of boulders? What if a bunch of boulders are dropped in the water the same time the handful of pebbles are? Sure. Add more pebbles. The pebbles ripple gets bigger, but then more boulders drop in the water. The logical response would be add more pebbles.
Suddenly you realize that you are about to displace all the water, but more boulders keep coming. You stop adding pebbles and that slows it down, but boulders keep coming. You can’t stop them until finally all the water is gone.

I know your concern but my question is ultimately about personal preference over actual standard or expectation. If I were to say that porn itself on lemmy should be it’s own, privately accessible entity would be defederation (even though that is not a word in the lexicon. Closest would be anti-federalist). He’s an asshole, but he’s right. SCOTUS is supposed to be the last stop for constitutional rights. They can even block presidential directives if they are what they (Scotus) perceive as unconstitutional. My point is that private citizens are having to pay for what obviously would be a breach in their infrastructure. THEY picked the wrong person for the job and the wrong person did the wrong thing, and now the private citizens have to pay for it. I’m not a lawyer, a social scientist, or a high ranking knowledgeable gov’t official, but even I can see something fishy has happened and now the every man has to pay for it. IMO that’s a pretty typical response when there’s a leak. People who are minding their own business and just trying to live life have to pay for the gov’t’s negligence. We can blame the individual, but the people who have access to that material are required to go through rigorous screening. Why do private citizens have to pay for the governments failure?
