I always wanted to start an overmoderated forum for debating on various topics, bringing it to the “ideal” debate as close as possible. Basically the Venezuela scene from Parks and Rec - you use an ad hominem? Believe it or not, banned. Personal attack? Instantly banned. Arguing in bad faith? Banned. Ignoring everything the other side said and just ranting? Also jail.
Don’t judge a book by its cover. There is plenty of gameplay out there, RTS players worldwide have played the alpha. It’s basically Starcraft 2, meshed with Warcraft 3, with creep camps. They are targetting a 1v1 PvP mode, and a 3vE mode where you play against AI, similar to how SC2 has the commanders 2vE mode.
They are fully funded already, this is for a collector’s edition, and beta access so they can scale the infrastructure before the game itself is ready for release.
… Moba started with a warcraft mod. You might have heard of it, it’s called DOTA. Warcraft is a staple of RTS, and so is Starcraft. Both had “hero units” since forever - with the campaigns in Starcraft featuring hunter killers (hero hydralisks) for example, later in 2 featuring Jim, Kerrigan, Artanis. It’s nothing new really, and it’s really unfair to say that an rts that features heroes, like Warcraft, makes it a moba with some RTS in it.
Yeah, they are campaign and coop only. No hero units in 1v1. Also, even in the campaign, there is no levelling them up. They’re just beefy named units with unique abilities.

If the other pilot wanted to shoot the parachuting guy, why not just do it, instead of going through this weird dance of “I’ll check if he’s dead”? How do they know he was “intent on finishing him off”? Even if this weird “checking if alive” thing happened, maybe he wanted to radio back that a combatant on a parachute fell to the ground, so the military police can expect one?
The outlandish part isn’t “guy got shot”. The outlandish part is “the guy who shot him bragged about shooting him then made an entire story up why it was cool to shoot him. Now people celebrate the shooter despite it being a literal warcrime”.

Thw alternative is to choose people who would change the status quo of just having to choose between two candidates. Seriously, how is it democracy, if it’s the exact same shit going on year after year after year? One president is a democrat, one is a republican. Average that out, and it flip flops from one to the other. Neither change the status quo at all. So maybe vote in someone who will?
Yeah it is simple - when people stop buying the “a vote for third party is lost”. Go out, protest, vote for 3rd parties. But nope, it’s easier to let democracy be eroded further and further.
I know how it works. I’m saying you got convinced that your vote doesn’t matter and to “vote strategically”. Which is entirely defeatist. It’s no wonder you only have a two party system, when it’s so easy to tell people “you don’t have a choice”.

They are comparing the totality of the value something has been bought for. So a $60 game needs to sell 10 copies, when $600 piece of hardware just needs to sell one. That’s been the reason why Valve Index was nr 1 for so long - it was very expensive, with purchases comming from the enthusiast market. Same thing for the steam deck - not many people will buy it, but it will be worth a lot of AAA games.

It adds up pretty easily. If you want to stir up fear against nuclear, you hack an irrellevant system of a nuclear power plant - like HR. Then you want as many people as possible to hear about it, so it scares as many people. So you think up something memable to spread the thing. Like “gay furry hackers want cat girls!”. People then start writing articles, readers start sharing them because “funny thing” and others who don’t like nuclear get “validated” in their opinion.
They can in TNG at least. There is an episode about people being cryogenically frozen in the past, because of uncurable illnesses. They unfroze them, and one dude ordered alcohol. He even said it was the best glass he has ever had.
