LazerDickMcCheese,

I’m going to eat at least 5 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches today. I’m working on pushing my pb&j tummy to its max, and my record is 5. And these are thick ones too. I’ve found thay the secret is pre-mixing the peanut butter and jelly in a 1:1 ratio before spreading it on the bread because it doesn’t leak and is easier to eat quickly.

LazerDickMcCheese,

I do the same. It’s a fantastic, heavily customizable combo that hasn’t failed me once

LazerDickMcCheese,

Me either, I still keep it though

LazerDickMcCheese,

This is a really good shitpost, thank you

LazerDickMcCheese,

Thank you for asking, I’ve been thinking about this lately. Unfortunately, I don’t have an answer for you

LazerDickMcCheese,

That was a hilarious read, I don’t think people got the humor

LazerDickMcCheese,

I’m kinda in the same boat as you. There’s a Windows bloatware uninstaller (I forget the name) that strips many features you don’t want. And I’ve used BCuninstaller to forcibly remove things I didn’t want. Outside of that, you can use your own router with a strict Pi-hole to see a lot of the Microsoft telemetry getting blocked. Not saying it catches all of it, but it works for me

LazerDickMcCheese,

Everything about the post is a shitshow, I love it

LazerDickMcCheese,

I bounce around a few public Sear instances, its working great for me

LazerDickMcCheese,

You’re doing better than me, I’d like to see your sources. I’ve been looking for surrounds and reel-to-reels, but I haven’t had much luck outside of the ol archive

LazerDickMcCheese,

Which VPN service? I normally use Tailscale with the Pi as an exit node, but I’d like to have simultaneous VPN connection

LazerDickMcCheese, (edited )

There’s a script on github (don’t have the link right now) for an automated whitelist. I was expecting it to break some things or end up useless, but it was the perfect addition for me Edit: github.com/anudeepND/whitelist

LazerDickMcCheese,

I made a Win11 machine earlier this year without this issue, but that could’ve changed

LazerDickMcCheese,

I don’t understand why people dislike this post either. I’m not interested in Spotify at all, but this seems like a reasonable question. Maybe I’m missing something?

Proton services discussion

I’ll start off by saying everyone’s economic situations are just as varied as their threat models and how people make decisions on which services can be specific to themself and not one that can apply to anyone else. The services one chooses to use for free or to pay for may be based more on what they can afford vs what’s...

LazerDickMcCheese,

I’ve been using Nord, and I’m on the fence about switching to either Proton or Mull. I’d like to hear how people chose one or the other

LazerDickMcCheese,

Yeah, I paid for a year’s worth of service, then found out. I’m cheap as hell so I’m gonna ride out my subscription, but I’m definitely switching…I just haven’t decided on the service yet

LazerDickMcCheese,

That’s what I would do, not that anyone should base their actions on me

LazerDickMcCheese, (edited )

Add Windows support and I’m in Edit: lots of hate for the most widely used OS, huh?

LazerDickMcCheese,

Nah, I tried it and I’m not a fan

LazerDickMcCheese,

Don’t get me wrong, I understand what’s great about Linux. But I’m not willing to fight through the learning curve, it was too complicated for daily, casual use in my opinion

LazerDickMcCheese,

Redhat, DietPi (still use for Pi-hole, but I feel like that doesn’t count), Ubuntu, something Debian…I promise I gave it a chance, but it’s not for me

LazerDickMcCheese,

Can’t stress this enough, I wanted to like it

OG XBox component, outputs to Framemeister but not Sony Trinitron Wega

The Xbox is softmodded and the video is set to 480i non-widescreen. Any idea why it might not be outputting? What I see is the intended output on my 4k tv, but the CRT is a 45° slanted, scrolling, monochrome image that’s heavily warped. My first though was that the softmod had something to do with it, but I’ve seen this...

LazerDickMcCheese,

No, it’s set to NTSC

LazerDickMcCheese,

I have it set to NTSC, but I tried every option just to be safe. It’s the Rocky5 mod

LazerDickMcCheese,

Turns out that games play fine, but the menus are illegible. Maybe there’s a fix for the system menus? Or maybe I can undo the mod, I only modded to get otherwise unreachable DLC

LazerDickMcCheese,

I’m tinfoil hat levels of paranoid, but I’m not layering like that due to the downsides

LazerDickMcCheese,

That’s my thought too

LazerDickMcCheese,

That’s my current setup, but Signal gets no use because I can’t convince anyone to switch

LazerDickMcCheese,

Never thought I’d see a day where people feel compelled to circumsize their cars

LazerDickMcCheese,

Oh, like updog

LazerDickMcCheese,

DuckDuckGo, I’ll switch to SearXNG as soon as it comes to Windows

LazerDickMcCheese,

Does a public instance ID or log users? I never even considered it because it seems risky, like I’m asking for backdoor access to my network

LazerDickMcCheese,

I’ll humor you and give my input. If someone is making a FOSS project, get at least one person on your team with rudimentary social skills. Make them involved with support. Because as a simple user, “just use Discord” or “just use Linux” is not an answer to a tech problem, and it can sometimes be insulting to have the go-to people avoid answering the question

LazerDickMcCheese,

I’m out of the loop and a novice, what’s wrong with it?

How to use CRT as extra monitor?

I have a Triniton Wega (480i) that I’d like to use as a separate monitor for streaming VHS rips and pixely PC games. My computer is a Win11 machine with a 2080, and I just tried usb-c output of the 2080->hdmi->component converter->TV and (to no one’s surprise) it didn’t work. I used Nvidia’s custom resolution to use...

LazerDickMcCheese,

This is the one I bought to try and get this working a.co/d/brS5lX1

I hope this is the right place to put this..I want to use pi-hole

I want to use pi-hole and it comes highly recommended to use raspberry pi to cover the house and have an always on capability. I started looking at just starter packages at Amazon and they don’t come with a monitor, which it looks like you need. How do I do this? I want a raspberry pi to run pi-hole to protect my house....

LazerDickMcCheese,

I promise you, the Pi-hole is a great and simplistic tool. Just look at my post history, if I can get this thing running you can too. I can’t give you a full detailed post right now, but you need a card to load the files up. I used an SD card loaded with DietPi (they have tutorials on this) and it sets itself up pretty easily once you set up SSH (I use putty, it’s also great and easy to set up). As far as the model of Pi goes, most people say you can use whichever you want because its not resource intensive, but I went with a model that has a native Ethernet port, and its been 10/10. Good luck, I can help you out more later if you’d like

LazerDickMcCheese,

Still haven’t had a chance to sit down and really type this up, but what I did was YouTube search for “pi-hole setup” and watch probably the first 30-40 videos that popped up because if anything can break, it WILL break for me, and I wanted to know my money wasn’t going to be wasted. I can tell you from experience that the Pi-hole support team is one of the best you’ll find, and they can help you with any problems you might have.

LazerDickMcCheese,

It’d be an obnoxiously long comment chain, plus its starting to feel like its not worth the effort. I’ve found some Windows alternatives to the stuff I was trying to do since I made the point which has been great! Still missing some functionality, but its better than what I was doing a few hours ago

LazerDickMcCheese,

I appreciate it, I was asking for help through Github and (when forced to) Discord, but the help wasn’t consistently helpful so I tapped out on that too

LazerDickMcCheese,

You nailed it, the problem is the problem with having to troubleshoot by yourself as a newbie. Once might not be an issue, but every step feels like a new instance of a repeat problem. Thanks for the encouragement

LazerDickMcCheese,

I respect your opinion, but I’ll pass

LazerDickMcCheese,

What generalization? You mean the widely accepted pain that comes from it?

LazerDickMcCheese,

I’ve been using SSH, but I need visuals for some things. Thank you, I’ll look into it
