Why do you think they are unnecessary? Do you say the same thing about violence scenes? I enjoy sex scenes much more than violence scenes and feel like movies just keep increasing the latter and decreasing the former.
So Tom Cruise goes to dinner at his instructor’s house, black screen, there’s incredible tension afterwards between the two of them. Maybe she served bad shellfish and he’s upset? Who knows? Saying sex scenes are irrelevant to plots is just ridiculous. Stop typing online and Go back to picketing schools about removing Shakespeare and Balzac and other lewd literature from their shelves.
Yeah it’s a gen Z thing apparently. There is more of a demand for action, violence, and superheroes that cry. Suprising to me as I see romance as an escape from all the ugliness around us.
You realize you could just read a book about it too? Their are creative ways to avoid showing just about anything in a movie. But this isn’t what the poster was talking about. They were talking about censorship with a black screen.
For all practical purposes yes. It sucks, but as you can see, speaking about third parties gets most people pissed off as it’s considered voter suicide / throwing away your vote to vote for an extremely minor third party candidate. The financial support within these two power house parties makes it unlikely this system will ever change. As someone pointed out here, a systematic change like ranked choice voting where third parties could aggregate credit without forcing voters to abandon the two parties they are comfortable with would be the only hope of moving away from the bullshit 2 party system. However, that’s not in the interest of the two parties that already run the government, so never going to happen at scale at least.
Nope that’s not a refinement, thats just a new comment.
As far as less than ideally informed voters, that’s a self fulfilling prophecy - why become informed when there are two parties and you are programmed to already hate one? You just vote and party lines and move on. Politicians in the US don’t even have platforms anymore, they don’t need to.
Are you suggesting only the very intelligent vote?
Not sure where you even got that from. I just said that there is little motive for a candidate to educate themselves or for a politician to attempt to educate voters on their plans in a binary system. When you add shades of grey (other candidates / parties) there’s more motivation to have tangible platforms that people can then make educated decisions on.
Plenty of other democracies have multiple parties and this idea that other parties equal pure communism and anarchy sounds like some GOP fear mongering bullshit.
Sometimes I will use something and realize I’ve owned it forever. It’s a nice change in our throwaway reality. I think my personal record is a bicycle multi-tool I got for one of my first bikes, ~25 years ago. Still have it, still use it. When it comes to electronic devices I have a Panasonic mini Hi-Fi from ~2005. Never...
Feels Very circle jerky here. Its low effort commentaries on political issues mostly and extraordinarily little growth of niche interest subs. The lack of content here helps curb my doom scrolling, so that and a real hate for reddit leadership and the pathetic Simps that think writing “fuck Spez” while still contributing content to his network for free is a form of effective protest, are all that keeps me here though.
I only use brave at work because it somehow bypasses the firewall there and I can install and use it. I run it to watch videos about cooking or traveling and reading news when I have nothing to do at my job....
Assume you are new here? Lemmings suckle at the teet of the red panda. Brave is hated for its pretense of privacy while in reality being perhaps even shadier than the big data boys.
If there is an invisible hand, it needs to stop this. I’ll stop talking to anyone under the age of 28 ever again because if even one of you doesn’t vote I just cannot forgive.
We Can barely hang on to the shitty voting system we have. I can almost never make it to polls (and often work Sundays) but I used to receive automatic mail in ballots. Now I need to apply for ballots early before each election and many politicians are fighting to make it harder and harder to do mail in. Women’s reproductive rights have back slid, internet freedoms have become restricted, vaccines are being required in schools and hospitals less not more. This guy is talking about progressive reforms and we are here just trying to dig fingernails into basic rights.
I’m very much against voter nihilism regardless of the statistics. Regardless of if I’m getting steam rolled or not, I’m putting pen to paper and I want the record to show that someone didn’t agree with the mob - me, it was me. The US is a two party system and personally I think that sucks. You are definitely “throwing your vote away” by conventional wisdom in such a system, but if everyone thinks this way there is no hope for any traction or interest in advancing third parties - so I agree with this form of voter suicide.
Maybe December? So we all take money out of banks, at least current month salary, and spend cash only. I think that is something that shouldn’t be hard to do and it would show if we, the people, have any power left to make positive changes for the future or we can just surrender and eat bugs....
That’s fine. I can get that. For many of us though we are so worried about surviving and providing for others that it would be very hard / determinental to take this stand at the loss of compound interest which can hopefully become like a future source of sustainable income in and of itself. So go and do it, but few people in a tough economy can afford to join you so maybe just make it kind of your own thing.
To be fair you are probably better off using a bidet as diarrhea often means repeat events and that’s a lot of wiping and you can create sores. Also, with infectious diarrhea the very act of wiping is a high risk event for spreading those germs. The f22 is an incredible flying machine and the M28 is likely not the most luxurious way to travel but it is much better than flying on Spirit airlines.
Everyone needs at least one battery powered security camera. Recommend using something that avoids cloud bullshit. That limits things quite a bit, but I recommend lorex.
