I think most developers can see the writing in the wall there, but switching mid-way through a project will be costly and time consuming. If the changes were fully rolled back, I would still bet many would finish what they working on and then switch for their next game.
Ones that are on-demand afterwards. I don’t have the time to watch an entire stream in one go, and I hate missing out while I go to the bathroom or do chores.

Once worked for a municipality when the contracted garbage collectors complained that there was too much recycling in the trash and the other way around. They essentially have to trash everything in the recycling if it’s contaminated.
We had to do some public information campaigns to try reduce it or the company would raise their rates, which would affect tax payers. The message did seem to get across to people, as the company stopped complaining.
Sometimes when I use exact matches like “keyword1” “keyword2” I see results that contain some of the matches but not others. Is there a search engine that only shows results with all the exact matches exactly as they are written?
I believe the short answer is that they do not feel it will improve their situation. If they are actually guilty of something, they now need to suffer the consequences. If they are innocent, they are at the mercy of someone else in a field that is not devoid of corruption and abuse of power. For some, that is just not a situation they feel comfortable with so they attempt to avoid it.
Does anyone got any television recommendations for dumb tv’s or other words none smart tv’s? Or even a tv that is smart but the software is open sourced making it privacy friendly?
I’ve had some that actually will not let you use it until you have accepted the user agreement, sold your soul, created an account, verified the account, then signed in. That is also why I won’t buy any TV that uses Roku.
I actually tried creating an account then just signing out, but then it just sent me RIGHT back to the login screen. You had to be logged in to even use the damn thing.
To keep the story short a friend was told during a pest inspection that their apartment was a fire hazard due to the amount of furniture they have in their apartment....
I’ve never heard of the quantity of furniture being a fire hazard unless it impeeds the ability to exit during a fire. Is it made out of dry tinder and balloons of gasoline?
One of the primary purposes of the police is to be able to break labor uprisings. This is so wrong and should be prevented in the strongest way possible. What do you all think? Is the U.S. constitution able to restrict police?...
I think that would be hard to implement. Like, what it a picket line got violent and started burning things down? What if someone posed as part of the dispute as a cover to burn things down?
I agree standing against a labor protest is literally undemocratic, but can’t think of a good way to implement that to limit abuse.
Just a little rant. When I first visited Lemmy Sites a couple of months ago it felt empty. Besides the really mainstream community pretty much everything else just felt empty....

Actually, that sounds like a lot of effort; best to leave that on Reddit.

Really tempted to swap for a system with phone integration for the maps, but not if I sacrifice safety. I’ll just keep using my dash mount for my phone!
The entire app store idea is based around making money. You need look no further than the two sorting options: top free and top paid which translate to with ads and without ads.
Is this how most people type on mobile these days, drawing lines all over a keyboard instead of tapping the individual keys? I've never had an iPhone so I don't even know if they can do this natively, but I know you can switch keyboards at least, so it should still be an option if not.
GBoard is great for swipe typing and a must have on all my phones. I also like the one-handed mode which lets you shrink and move the keyboard for easier reaching. I usually have it small, slightly higher up, and on the right side so I can type without having to stretch my thumb and can keep a firm grip on my popsocket. Recently sent an entire text message without looking at my phone while walking down the street.
People say violence is never an option, but violence is always the last option. We can try arguing, debating, convincing, compromising, making concessions, begging, bartering, betting, but at the end of the list is the threat of violence followed by actual violence.
If we want to reduce violence, we need to find a way to settle disagreement somewhere before violence. Otherwise, all disagreements just get closer and closer in a game of brinksmenship. Those who blink first lose.
