Baldur's Gate 3's Patch 3, which was so massive Larian held it back a day to test it properly, will release today, and it'll add an RPG feature many of us have been requesting since we stepped clear of the Nautiloid - the ability to change a character's appearance. Alas, it comes too late for the Wood Elf Druid I rolled during...
Morrowind had some pretty crazy implied stuff if you went down the right quest trees and read the little details. Remembering about stripping for Crassius Curio still makes me feel a touch dirty and violated. Telvanni had some rapey stuff going on too.
The poor don't get many options. Ever been to a food bank in America? It depends a bit on each bank but 99/100 you are going to get more carbs than veggies. You almost always get one or two boxes of sugary cereal crap, one loaf of bread, and a mountain of pasta since it never goes bad.
If you do get veggies they are likely rejects no one else wanted to buy. If you are lucky they are just ugly. If you are unlucky they are already starting to go and you have to cut around rot and eat them in a couple days. You will likely get canned veggies that are unpopular like cannelloni beans or something. If it's frozen veggies they are likely frost burned to the point of barely being edible.
Whenever we have hit a tough patch and needed help from a food bank we gained weight and feel like shit. Meanwhile the best diet that ever worked for me (keto) required fresh veggies and plenty of butter (or other fats), eggs, and meat. It isn't cheap when you are broke and you really have no choice. It's a societal issue, just knowing what is right yourself won't help if everyone else is ignorant.
Fair enough, in that you are absolutely right. From my experience the poor who are hungry are usually the ones with bigger issues, drugs, violence etc.
I was just trying to stress that the poor are only left with bad options. It's a systemic issue stemming from capitalism and lobbying to create the unhealthy diet paradigm that the U.S. is only starting to shake. Even for middle class, there is always the drive to save a few bucks which leads to worse diet.
Beyond that, Starfleet is supposed to be the best of the best of the best. While that doesn't extend the aesthetics it is reasonable to believe that people so driven would tend to look good.
He wasn't though. The original artist hated that Pepe was being used as a symbol for hate. Pepe was more just used on 4chan and what not for whatever reason at first. It's just the right, not being creative at all, stole it and ran with it.
I did 15 years at a small company. There was always a big break just around the corner that never came because of reasons. We got out but damn did I resemble that mouse. Only difference is I avoided FB because I dreaded the thought of my peers doing better. Only now do I realize almost everyone was in a similar trap or stuck in a loop of new jobs. The few I knew that had huge breaks always went into the new job loop eventually.
“I called her and I said, ‘Hey, this is Jimmy Doohan. Scotty of Star Trek. I’m doing a convention in Indianapolis, and I want to see you there.‘” he explained. “I saw her. Boy, I’m telling you — I couldn’t believe what I saw. It was definitely suicide. Somebody had to help her, somehow. And, obviously, she...
As a parent of two young kids that's easy for me. Adaptability, self reflection, and problem solving. Learning to check their sources and learning where to get the good info they need to do whatever. While also teaching the skills to solve for themselves and question themselves while still believing they can find the best solution. You give them this foundation they can sort it out.
Steam can be pretty loose with the period too within reason. I only returned a game once, it was the Outer Worlds and I put like 4 hours into it. I explained to them that at that point it was clear that choices didn't have the big impact I thought they would and I felt deceived.
My wife was having a brain fart once and knew there was a logical reason but couldn't figure it out atm. So I drew a diagram top down geometry class style. Set her straight just like that. It's just the light bouncing at an angle so that you can see what is on the front of the paper.
But JoJo got good long before halfway through. For me it starts with Battle Tendency but for many it's good from Stardust Crusaders on. That leaves many more seasons and even more manga.
My advice for anyone getting into JoJo would probably be start with Stardust Crusaders, they explain why Dio is a big deal in the narrative and the mask isn't relevant anymore so none of it really matters.
You are right that the first season is a total drag and very skippable though.
The rent only ever increases. Demand was too high for too long. We were paying 2k for a 2 bedroom on SI. We now rent a 2 BR house for nearly half that upstate.
My wife found out BG was out. Saw it was a full release price and was kind of like, "meh I can wait". I joked about everyone playing just wanted to edit their character's genitals and she immediately put it on top of her Wishlist.
Us too, we are always worried our daughter will leave a window or door open. One time we were searching for hours to find that the cat had climbed into a drawer then behind the drawer into the dresser itself. I think we figured it out when we tried to close it and felt a soft squish and a meow.
Just checked out the lemmy version of r/place. On there, on people profiles, and many lemmy communities are devoted to my little pony and various other childish cartoon stuff. Im mostly out of the loop. I read an article a while back about a website that was an alt-right thing that used childish speech and my little pony...
This. My autistic daughter loves that generation of MLP and watches it daily for the past five or so years. At first it was somewhat enjoyable for the memes and subtle adult humor. Now it's overkill and I think I could out quiz bronies at a MLP quiz game. Certainly more tolerable at first than many of the other shows she likes though.
My autistic daughter likes to quietly play with my phone when we eat out. If that doesn't happen everyone in the immediate area suffers. This has always caused me a bad time.
