I don’t have any family members like that, but I do have an aunt who for lack of a better term believes in pretty insane tankie shit, no one talks to her though, technically we don’t invite her for christmas, she just kind of shows up and we let her join because she’s already there, if it were up to me I wouldn’t but my mom doesn’t want to do that to her sister (even though they ignore each other the whole time).

    You have to understand this seems very much like the Paypal scams we’ve seen in the past. Also you posted from mastodon, on its own it’s not a bad thing but this combined with the scammy message is very suspicious.

    Edit: Profile is the same posts over and over again verbatim, it’s almost certainly a bot scam account @ada might be a good idea to purge them.

    The reason is because even things that are made up can hold a lot of importance to some people, especially when it’s how they view themselves and it is important to respect people’s wishes.

    Just so you and anyone else knows Cis and trans definitely isn’t a binary, so if you continuously get reading that don’t match either, you may want to consider something like Isogender or other Gender Modalities and adjust the tests to look for those.

    That would be a long, slow, and painful way to go, and it’s not even guaranteed to get you before you kick the bucket from old age, after all not everyone dies of smoking before dying of something else. It also has plenty of nasty side effects that can affect your life in other ways such as causing you to stink (both from your clothes, but also an odor from your body), or giving you gum disease which can make your gums hurt and also cause you to lose your teeth.

    I’m not sure what you’ve gone through but I do hope you can find some happiness in life and not choose to go such a horrible way.

    I’m not sure why people think reptiles are slimy, they’re not, their skin feels more leathery or like smooth plastic or vinyl. Hardly what I would call slimy. Amphibians are slimy, which makes sense since amphibians have permeable skin but reptiles have impermeable skin (it’s actually more impermeable than ours) so it stands to reason that to would not feel wet or slimy at all, and they pretty much don’t.

    I would disagree though that pythons feel smooth, they do still have that rough reptilian feel, they don’t don’t feel gross though, at least I don’t think so. If you have Herpetophobia you might disagree with my take.

    You know the leader/authority figure/parent in the movie/story who treats the people listening to them horribly then gaslights them saying they’re an amazing leader/authority figure/parent because they do something or don’t do something?     Depends, if they were a sex jokes I ignored them (See this page on why).

    If they were trans/egg jokes about pussy they probably flew over my head because I do not relate to Women’s experiences (really actually gender as a whole, see this page for more info on that).

    So it might be accurate to say that I may have been exposed to it at some point here but it never stuck with me and I don’t remember it, either because I didn’t get it or because I ignored it due to it being a gross/uncomfortable discussion.

    The only person who should crack an egg is the person inside that egg, and only through personal realization and self-understanding. The title rule helps us not step over that incredibly important boundary line.

    I very much agree with this, if only people in the Reddit version cared about this, many of the people I met there believed it was their duty to force people out who aren’t ready, either because they didn’t know better or didn’t care. Also Reddit unlike Lemmy has the flaw of showing fully maximized posts in the feed so the title thing doesn’t help, the bad stuff will hit you as you’re scrolling.

    I feel like tagging shouldn’t be optional, like they should be required to tag it as transmasc, transfem, nonbinary, nonspecific in addtion to a content warning if applicable, after all a transmasc person clicking on transfem memes could make them dysphoric and vice versa, hence why flairs are mandatory on the Reddit one.

    I disagree, If a person doesn’t want to see something with violence, transphobia, or disturbing imagery a Warning is good, because they can just not click on it (if you click it anyway that’s on you).

    Regarding assuming the user’s gender (talking about gender as a whole) , It might seem tame or absurd to someone who isn’t trans, or to a trans person who doesn’t understand the existence of other identities outside their own (very common on reddit.com/r/Egg_irl) but they can cause dysphoria for many folks especially when blindsided by them, which they can avoid if they know before clicking on them.

    NSFWI’m pretty sure Bussy is slang for a transmasc pussy, as you may know some transmascs retain their vagina as they either can’t afford bottom surgery or just choose not to get bottom surgery as their genitals do not bother them. It’s similar to how transfems who haven’t had bottom surgery for similar reasons often call their penis “Gick” or “Gock” which is a combination of girl and dick/cock. Bussy is a similar slang word, though it’s the combination of the words Boy and Pussy. (No I will not include a picture for you, use your preferred search engine if you’re curious)

    I don’t deny that it will give many people feminine feels, what I meant is it isn’t necessarily women/girl/transfem exclusive, people can enjoy something cute and feminine as a boy (cis or transmasc) or enby (look up femboys or the NB version fembys), which is why I was saying it’s not transfem exclusive and doesn’t really make sense for it to me marked that way, as non-transfem people can do/like things like this as being feminine without identifying as female.

    It will depend on each individual but this meme is for people in the trans community that get those feminine feels from long socks

    My point exactly, transmascs and enbies (if they identify under trans, some do and some don’t) are sometimes people who get feminine feels from long socks, hence why it doesn’t feel entirely correct for it to be labeled what it is when plenty of non-women can and do enjoy this.

    Disclaimer: I am taking “feminine feels” literally as in to describe something that feels feminine, as opposed to ‘something specific to girls’ which feels very incorrect knowing what I know about the separation between gender identity and how people present themselves.

    Also, I’m so sorry for you, it sounds awful being stuck in that situation. Hopefully you’ll be able to get out of there and be yourself in the future and actually get to buy some of those long socks.
