Perhaps a bit of a tangent: I’m pegnant and have been craving something all day but couldn’t work out what I wanted. I tried pico de gallo, bacon, mango. No luck. Eventually I realised: it was tap water with ice. That’s all I’ve wanted all day
This was my experience too, though I was in the UK where our religious and conservative nutjobs tend to hide because they secretly know they’re in the wrong. I was homeschooled for several years and found that I was able to thrive in areas that a conventional school structure wouldn’t have allowed.
I’m now a fully-adjusted and emotionally-intelligent adult with a confidence that most people my age are still learning.
Garlic and herb or black pepper? Personally, I don’t mind either but my partner will only buy garlic and herb so I have to smuggle black pepper into my work lunches
It depends if you can source the wool cheaply. If so, it’s about £40 for a drop spindle and some carding paddles. Otherwise, you’ll have to also factor in the costs of the fibre. Costs add up as you progress, of course… a spinning wheel would be your next big expense
It’s based on a gansey that our dad had commissioned; my brother wanted one too so I copied what I saw, modding for his size. I’ve learnt a lot from it, mainly that I never want to knit such a tight knit ever again. I’m so incredibly proud of it though, it just shows what perseverance can do
Ok so last night the very valid point was raised that our banner (and icon) are essentially the first stock image results for a search on “knitting”. Shoutout to @kurobita for picking up on that....
I didn’t even notice the third hand! I was too busy worrying about her crooked needles and the 10-row drop stitches at her wrist. I definitely see what you mean re. poor advertising. It’s like when a character’s knitting on tv and they clearly don’t know what they’re doing!
Thanks for all the love on my recent post - but I realise I was very unclear about my plans with my blanket - so hopefully this will clarify (and also gave me an excuse to lay out the blanket pieces completed so far in glorious sunshine!)...
