I'm not the person you replied to, but I am confused as to what you mean. You don't have to invoke the fifth amendment in order to not speak with police (the fifth amendment is more used in court), but you always have the right to have an attorney present when speaking with police in the US.

Ah, that will do it. Sorry to hear your country doesn't afford the right to have an attorney present. That's at least one thing we've got right here.

I don't know where you're from, but I've read plenty of examples of horrific rapists and murderers in other countries getting only a few years of prison time and then being released. That happens here as well, but I very much approve of the more egregious cases being given prolonged sentences. It's not about punishment; it's about protecting the populace from predators.

That said, we really need to reduce most prison sentences here in the US. So yes, we do very much need the law to allow us to have attorneys present when speaking with police because they will nail you for whatever they can get away with.

Yes, absolutely. You do have to say that. You don't have to expressly invoke the fifth amendment. You have to invoke your right to be silent. These are two separate things.

I wish the places I've worked at had a policy like that. I always kind of hated the smell of popcorn because of how it lingers and it's very popular in communal offices. But even more so, wearing perfume or cologne inside of an elevator should be a crime.

I know everybody hates Amazon and they want an alternative to the Kindle, but my Kindle is waterproof and I almost exclusively want to use it in the bathtub. I also want one that doesn't have a strong backlight and feels natural to look at. The Kindle is damn near perfect.

Sorry it's not working for her! I think pregnancy might be a special type of nausea that's a little harder to treat.... I know ondansetron is commonly given to cancer patients and it's enough for many of them and not enough for others. For those of us with more mundane nausea, it really is a miracle drug.

I hope she find something that helps her or she gets past the nausea stage soon. And congratulations on the upcoming family addition.

I have also found that dry herb is the only thing effective for nausea or appetite. Which is really unfortunate since I've got lung issues, but the other formulations just don't work.

As a user of this whose primary problem is frequent waking at night rather than falling asleep, I don't find it that helpful. It does help falling asleep, but it doesn't help one stay asleep.

I've spoken with my sleep doctor about this and apparently basically the only thing that's good for helping somebody stay asleep as opposed to fall asleep is a common date rape drug so it's not commonly prescribed.

I'm growing wasabi in pots right now. Turns out it's not as difficult to grow as everyone always said. It is a bit finicky but not that hard.

I have medical problems and it's often hard to go out, or even impossible. I still enjoy restaurant food for its variety. Also, if I'm not feeling well enough to go to a restaurant, I'm probably not feeling remotely well enough to cook. And I can afford it.

Delivery is a life changer for the disabled...if you can afford it.

Pretty sure I would need a few million for any significant improvement, like being able to hire help around the house while still being able to afford life and save for later.

The only time I have encountered applause in a movie theater was during the opening night for Snakes on a Plane. It was like a festival atmosphere. There were literally people in costumes, dressed up as planes and snakes and planes covered in snakes. It was kind of awesome, to be honest.

I don't want to be negative, but I don't think you will find affordable housing there, especially in the summer. You might be able to find something that works with multiple roommates.

You have to understand that Martha's Vineyard is a place that the rich and powerful live and vacation. This is not an affordable area for the average American.

Hopefully somebody who is from the neighboring communities can give you more specific advice, but I would start by looking at apps aimed at finding roommates and looking for rentals off of the island but in a commutable distance (I'm not sure how realistic that is not being from the area myself).

Edit: It's Martha's Vineyard, so I wouldn't worry about safety.
