Devgard,

One swipe to upvote a comment is much easier than two taps.

Devgard,

AirTags use UWB for more precise finding, but uses Bluetooth as a way to increase minimum levels of compatibility

Devgard,

It’s finally coming with Android 14 I believe

Devgard,

he has his own telegram channel and Mastodon account too

Devgard,

I think it’s because Fairphone is offering 5 years OS + extra 3 security to make 8, and not just 8 OS/security updates

Samsung Electronics Announces SDC23 Bringing Developers Together for Tomorrow (news.samsung.com)

Beyond the keynote address, SDC23 will feature breakout sessions open for attendees to have opportunities to collaborate and learn more about Samsung’s latest developer-focused platforms and tools, including One UI 6, SmartThings, Matter, Bixby, Tizen, Samsung Health and more....

Devgard,

Very excited for OneUI 6, but I’m very happy seeing Matter news too

Devgard,

I think it’s the green colour

Devgard,

I enabled predictive back gestures on my S23u via the Dev options, however it only works kinda on the play store

Devgard,

UWB is nice, easier finding of wearables if lost :)

Devgard,

this is one thing I really like about Nothing, their attention to detail especially with their changelogs

Devgard,

I read the acronym as custom mini figure…

Phones should have 2 USB C ports

One should be at the bottom one at the top. I understand space on the phone is a premium but a second port would make the phone so much more usable. Wired headphones, flash drives, camera modules, speaker modules, keyboards, even connection to a TV, all could be used while charging. It’s a shame it’s not a thing, USB is...

Devgard,

random thing, the newly released Tab S9 series have 2 ports

Devgard,

newer samsung devices are harder to tweak than google devices unfortunately

Devgard,

I have had the recent S series Samsung phones and no bloatware was uninstalled via updates like this, that’s still disappointing to see

Devgard,

that’s weird, I haven’t faced any optimisation issues on my S23 Ultra, I get all messages like normal

Devgard,

from my own experience, that’s definitely the case for Mastodon, except people are 40 and up.

Devgard, (edited )

In respect to you guys modding the original r/Android, I will leave this up, unlocked. But please, don’t make any more new posts here advertising r/Android V2.

Let the games begin I guess.

Edit: Please read this.

Devgard,

Thank you for clarifying and for the consideration, I really appreciate you taking the time to write this out.

Regarding my response earlier, I made that reply on the assumption that it were you guys who put this up as a way to take some users back, which taking a step back now, I see that I was very wrong.

I’ll be making a new mod reply to this post, which should clarify any misunderstandings to prevent new people viewing this post from accidentally making the same assumption I have made.

If you need to contact me, shoot me a DM and I can share my Telegram details there :)

Devgard,

Update on the postThis post was not made by the mods of @android@lemdro.id. This was made by a fellow fan of r/Android and was not made to siphon/steal users as I and many others have incorrectly assumed, so please don’t attack the mods of @android@lemdro.id as they don’t mean any harm!

Devgard,

It’s all good :)

Devgard,

Google shouldn’t be trying to push Chat as a WhatsApp and teams competitor. It’s hard enough getting people to adopt the normal Google Messages app.

Devgard, (edited )

No, we aren’t the same. Interestingly enough they have just created a new Lemmy community, but seeing as this already has a few thousand users, unless everyone from r/Android joins that one, this will become the new default Android community.

Edit: Turns out they’ve made a completely new instance! Check it out at lemdro.id!

lemmy apps you should try and experiment with (lemmy.world)

I made a folder with my fav lemmy apps that I tried so far, and they are sorted by favorite to less favorite. By far, wefwef is my most used and I do switch to lifoff sometimes. Also, the official lemmy app is really not bad compared to reddit’s official app. I would say try all of them and see which one works the best for...

Devgard,

Due to a bug in reposted comments about Summit, I will be locking this thread to prevent further issues.

Feel free to make a new thread about Lemmy apps!

Devgard,

This thread has been locked as it is a duplicate of another post.

Original post

Devgard,

Moshidon has material you as well

Devgard,

ah that makes sense, personally I like the icons and animation flair of Moshidon so I’m gonna stay 😁

For the people coming in asking what app for Lemmy. You don't need it. Lemmy is great on a mobile browser.

The only reason why we all used third party apps for Reddit, is because their app and website is abhorrent trash. It’s great to have a choice, but Lemmy’s website is smooth to use. I know it’s mind blowing not to use a app for everything in 2023 but Lemmy just works.

Devgard,

personally it’s more convenient if there’s a mobile app, so I’m using Liftoff right now, until Sync, Artemis or Boost release 😀

Devgard,

this started a few weeks ago for me and never ended, really annoyed that the material you colour is gone 😐

Devgard,

nice to see the security update change, but damn those 2 years of OS updates suck 🤦‍♂️

Devgard,

way more active and less random spam imo, seems more interesting than actual r/android lol

Devgard,

sounds like a great idea 😂

Devgard,

loving the android redesigned logo 😂

Devgard,

waiting for them to open up RCS to third party apps!

Devgard,

what restrictions?

Devgard,

sidenote: what is the purpose of the target SDK? why do both minimum and target SDKs have to exist?

Devgard,

hate the fact that chrome killed the bottom address bar.

i use vivaldi and it covers all the bases (and a lot more, heck it even has its own Mastodon server)
