I actually enjoy Chrome’s personalization. Their new tab list of articles consistently has multiple articles that are extremely relevant to me. I bought my laptop from a Chrome recommendation when I was actively following r/laptopdeals and several other deal trackers. I use the Google Maps Timeline feature a lot. For me, I think there is a balance between using invasive services for my advantage and assuring that I can be truly private when necessary, i.e. Tor, Signal, burner phone, etc.

I also really enjoy the Google suite of office tools.

I don’t know. I get the same raw energy here as I did when I first joined that other site. I get a rush of joy when I discover a new, cool community. The truth is, Lemmy is literally what you make it, not shoved down our throats by someone looking for their first billion.

The article is saying that the gpus use a compression that is software independent and bypasses the restrictions on iFrame cross-website loading. Chrome and Edge are affected; Safari and Firefox are not.
