McDonald's prices are out of control. (cdn.masto.host)

Gee, it’s almost like corporations are gouging consumers so badly that their market advantages are being lost due to greed. Inflation this quickly isnt real. It’s what happens when you come off a global pandemic with millions dead and corporations see they can freely abuse you by exploiting the public zeitgeist that prices...

CobraChicken,

They don’t taste the same

CobraChicken,

Taste is subjective, what tastes “better” to you might not be what tastes “better” to me.

I for one prefer the taste and crunch of shredded Iceberg over any other lettuce in a burger.

CobraChicken,

If I had the time to make a sandwich I wouldn’t be ordering one at McDonalds.

I don’t know where you live. I live in a big city. I’ve never had a McDonalds / Burger King sandwich where the iceberg wasn’t fresh.

more nutritional

Lol, Iceberg lettuce under the most optimal condition is very nutrient poor, I don’t know making it myself would make any practical difference.

CobraChicken,

the breading suuuuuuuucccccckkksssss

CobraChicken,

Sometimes carbon credits are sold off trees that weren’t going to be cut down anyway 😂😂

Wendover has a really great video on carbon offsetting on YouTube and nebula

Has HP printers always been this bad? (sh.itjust.works)

So my mother recently bought an ET-2800, By HP we had an HP printer before and we got a new one because the old one would not work with my sister’s Windows 11 Laptop. So I had to set it up for my mother, the manual said you can use it without the app. But there was no way to physically do that. Anyway, I downloaded the app on...

CobraChicken,

When you said 20 years later I genuinely thought you meant like early 90s

On a related note my Brother 2270DW has been working flawlessly since 2012. It survived two moves just fine. Toners are cheap and widely available

I have it hooked up to my wifi and any new pc or mac connected to the wifi can print effortlessly

CobraChicken,

but they will have to rebrand and be less lucrative.

And what do you do if those Russian franchise owners refuse to rebrand and continue using the BK name, supplies and signage?

Do you stop providing logistical support? Do you cut them off the BK supply chain (shut that down too) and not provide any new menu items / marketing materials?

Has BK done that?

CobraChicken, (edited )

So what is burger king doing wrong here?"

Edit: At least 10 people didn’t read the fucking article, BK did cut the supply line. This place is just like Reddit, all hurr durr without reading the article.

CobraChicken,

This is how I know you didn’t read the article.

BK did cut the supply chain logistics. It’s mentioned in the article.

Sue the franchisees? Where? In Russia? In the middle of an economic war with the west? Even if the suit proceeded for some reason, who do you expect the court to rule in favor of?

BK did everything to severe ties. The only thing that remains is to sell their share of the franchise. If they sell now (even if they find a buyer), they likely won’t be paid in anything other than rubles which is useless.

CobraChicken,

I am not an apple fanboy but I’m still annoyed by your neckbeardry

CobraChicken,

Can you choose to do it the other way?

Say I’m at 40% and my wife is at 50%

I will be near a charger in an hour while she’ll be out and about all day.

Can I not choose to give her some charge even though I currently have less than her?

CobraChicken, (edited )

That’s not even all of the bullshit.

In every other mouse the sensor is at the center of the body. On magic mouse the sensor is at the front under your fingers as you can see in the OP thumbnail.

That makes it very hard to adapt to when you’re coming off of other mice. When you’re moving the mouse you better not slightly rotate it out of habit and ergonomics because the cursor will move weird.

I really tried giving it a shot because I like apple gestures. They work fabulously well on the trackpad. The magic mouse is garbage in every category really.

I discover the crashed F35 in my lone walk in the woods. As I start to take it apart for parts, a woman catches me. She tells me to stop. It’s her father’s business. She’s Lockheed. I say no. We make love all night. In the morning, the feds come and I escape in one of their uniforms. I tell her to meet me in Mexico, but I go to Canada. I don’t trust her. Besides, I like the cold. Thirty years later, I get a postcard. I have a son and he’s the chief of FBI. This is where the story gets interesting. I tell Lockheed to meet me in Paris by the Trocadero. She’s been waiting for me all these years. She’s never taken another lover. I don’t care, I don’t show up. I go to Berlin. That’s where I stashed the F35

CobraChicken,

They were always waaaay more expensive than Scotties or Royale. I hardly ever saw bulk packs of them.

I can’t believe they lasted this long!

CobraChicken,

Are you like 5 years old?

CobraChicken,

I don’t know how this law passed but it should definitely be repealed

CobraChicken,

My HL2270DW has been working flawlessly for nearly 10 years now.

Connects to any PC/mac on my home network. Always prints correctly. Toners are dirt cheap

Is OP using a 1998 cannon printer or something?

CobraChicken,

He’s right, most people don’t install an OS. They use whatever it comes with.

CobraChicken,

Seeing how writing absolutely nosedived after 2-3 seasons, I find it hard to sympathize with them for ruining one of my favorite shows.

It's not just Adobe. Now Logitech wants me to go to a random website in order to add peripherals to my computer, and I'm met with this when I go to the page they tell me to (lemmy.world)

As if it wasn’t bad enough that they want me to use a random internet service to add a keyboard to a usb wifi receiver, they have the balls to put this for Firefox users. I clicked out of pure curiosity, as I’m not even remotely interested in involving a corporate internet service in getting my keyboard connected to my...

CobraChicken,

I can sort of see the reason behind it. If they’re hosting the manual then they can keep it updated (typos/mistakes/changes etc.). Printed manuals can become outdated by the time it reaches the buyer.

What they should’ve done instead was to include a printed version, and then add a QR code to see the latest version online. That would’ve been very handy

USB-C confirmed for the iPhone 15 in new leaked images - Macworld (www.macworld.com)

We’ve known that the iPhone is switching to USB-C for a while now, but there was always a possibility that Apple would stick with Lightning for one more year. Based on the latest leaked images, however, Apple is all-in on USB-C for the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models, with USB-C parts for the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, and...

CobraChicken,

This is not sad. Progress is progress.

Good on EU to force their hand, we should be cheering for regulatory agencies making life better for consumers.

CobraChicken,

You simply cant win. People make fun of Xbox fand Windows for having non sequential names, and iPhone gets berated for having a naming scheme that’s sensical, easy to follow and date

CobraChicken,

Hey are you db2 from reddit who used to be into vapes?

CobraChicken,

Lead the way please

CobraChicken,

Hey OP why don’t you start by sharing your donation receipts to Lemmy?

CobraChicken,

Oh wow good to see you here! I remember you from the early days when we had less than 6k subs there!

It used to be such a fun, vibrant and exciting hobby and community. It so sad to see how regulations basically strangled the life out of it. It’s very nice to see familiar usernames pop up here and there!

CobraChicken,

Totally! Not just that, the user base also feels different, sorta how reddit was before it became mainstream

CobraChicken,

Sync definitely is far superior. $2 and change per month is more than reasonable to keep developing an app I use so much.

CobraChicken,

Everybody spies. Its not possible to maintain my privacy 100% and still keep the same QoL

CobraChicken, (edited )

I have tried all of the ones on Android.

Wefwef / Voyager is extremely impressive for what it is - webapp

However it and all of the other android apps glitch a lot. I’m on a pixel 7 pro so it’s not a legacy hardware issue either

Sync is by far the best app by a large margin. Everything has a high degree of polish. UX design is perfect, though I may be biased since I’ve been using it for reddit for the past decade.

Sync only has ads on the post pages, may be once every 10-15 posts. No ads on the comment page. Honestly it’s got the little Google ads that are not a big deal at all

If you’d like you can remove ads for $30 but honestly it’s not a big enough issue at all

CobraChicken,

These apps cost pocket change considering how expensive life is right now. I can’t think of anything else where I get so much value out of so little.

We have to be willing to pay out of pocket to support a competition if we’re not happy with the way reddit is making money.

Even if pro subscription carries over I’m still buying it again. Sync was the best android client!

CobraChicken,

He will likely cry mistrial

CobraChicken,

I think there’s a huge personal risk to the lawyers too.

If Trump doesn’t like how this lawyer is representing him, he can sic his angry mob on the lawyer.
