Heat index above 40? That’s ridiculously low. 80 degrees F and 40% humidity is an 80 index and that’s perfectly comfortable weather. Heck, I used to work manual labor outside for 8 hours per day in a heat index of 136+. It wasn’t fun, and I was hot as fuck, but I did it every day.
The confusion is because you said “a heat index above 40”, so I thought you meant the actual index, not the index of 40C with whatever humidity. 80f is 26.66c (sorry, idk if you use decimals in Celsius or not). The heat index of 136 that I used to work in would be 43.33c and 40% humidity, so about what your index would be. I guess it could be fatal if you didn’t stay hydrated, but probably not in 3 hours. At least not for someone who’s used to it. I did get heat exhaustion a few times when the temperatures rose to 46.11 C, thankfully never heat stroke. I hope it doesn’t seem like I’m trying to argue with you. I’m just trying to have a friendly conversation. Sometimes it’s hard to tell how things read on the other end.
Right, so legislate that critical equipment is required to use certified repairs. Easy-peasy, lemon-squeezie. We don’t require airplanes to be thrown away and repurchased every time maintenance is due, we require the maintenance to be certified.
This would be incredibly difficult. Are you a world class sculptor? Even if you are, I doubt they would look like this in person, they’d look like chicken wire.
If there’s a bad decision that can be made, the Outlook development team made it. It’s a real shame that the industry standard is a hot garbage fire of a program.
:P is appropriate a lot of times when 😛 is not, and the latter is what slack converts it to. 😋 Is what they should use. One looks like you’re being silly, the other looks sexually desperate.
You’re really passionate about this, so change your audio setting to stereo and you’ll notice an improvement. A 5.1 system isn’t required, but it dramatically improves your viewing experience. You can get an affordable used system in a lot of places. I suggest checking the thrift store. In some areas the thrift stores are just a garbage dump, but if you check the nice areas periodically then you can build a great 5.1 system over time for just a couple hundred dollars or less. I’ve seen Polk audio subs for $10, Klipsch floor standing speakers for $20, Yamaha home theater amps for $10, and a bunch of other great deals. Half my system is from the thrift store, but it was all from there until not too long ago.
It is definitely under-appreciated. A lot of people don’t care, or don’t know what they’re missing. Some people get intimidated with the technical aspects of the setup. So even people that want a better experience are shy about it. Then they see lies on the sound bar box and think that’s a great solution. Sound bars are better than TV speakers, but they’re not a replacement for a real surround sound system.
No amount of software will make speakers in front of you sound like they’re behind you. Plus there’s not really much distance between the speakers in the sound bar, so even the main speakers are very center focused. Lastly, they’re small speakers. You can create a lot of sound with small speakers, but it will never fill a room like large speakers, they just can’t push enough air. I can hear my big floor standing speakers at reasonable volume throughout the house. I’d have to turn smaller speakers up to painful levels to hear them in the other room.
Oh, interesting. Thanks for the explanation. I’m going to check if Stremio has that. Is there a way that I could configure it on my amp? That might be a more reliable approach. The amp has a dialogue mode, but it’s not great. Medium setting on that mode produces slightly more intelligible speech. Does downmixing the center have any negative consequences, like not getting an actual surround sound experience? I love the enhanced experience from sounds coming from behind me, the sides, etc.
I think I sold that guy a motorcycle around 22 years ago! He was around 300 pounds and looked like a bum. He was a salesman and his wife had a super-model quality appearance. We were all shocked when we met her and shocked when we learned how much money he made. When we asked how he swung a wife like that he smirked and said “I’m a salesman”.

Thanks for the update. I just checked them out and they seem like they have a lot of servers. They’re almost double what I paid for Nord. Is there enough of a difference to consider switching? My Nord subscription doesn’t expire for five more months though.
I just wanted to point out how amazing it is that the Sistine Chapel was painted 541 years ago and is still emulated in art such as this thumbnail. That’s crazy!
How in the world was a sling more accurate than a bow? You can hit a bullseye with a barebow from 50 yards away. A sling is whirled around your head and then released. I don’t understand how that can be accurate at all, since I’ve never used a sling, but it seems impossible that it would be more accurate than a bow.
I used to live like that, then I moved to a big city. Literally any event you want to go to is sold out six months to a year in advance. You have to make plans or you’ll never be able to attend anything. Even good restaurants are booked solid for 3 weeks. You either make reservations for next month, or you slip them $50 at the hostess station for a chance to eat, which is wasteful and douchey.
What is the total value of this find? I skimmed the article, but I didn’t see a statement about the coin materials. Are any of them silver or gold? One picture looked like it was copper or bronze.
This constant harassment should be illegal. They should not be able to prompt you every single time you use a service. There needs to be a “NO” option. Not “no thank you”, not “maybe later”, “NO!”.
Unfortunately a lot of these services are becoming more akin to a utility than a clothing store though. You need them in some capacity to function in a modern life, and there are no alternatives, or every alternative engages in the same harassment.
Ha! I came to say the same thing. It looks like a woman’s watch on my wrist. My wife pointed out how feminine it looks on me and she’s right. It needs some bulk for men and larger women.
So this is how I die
